Hi Everyone!

I've been lurking around here for awhile and decided to create an account  I will be traveling to Korea Sept 9-13 and I am interested in the non-incisional double eyelid surgery, but I don't know if it is possible because of my tight schedule. I am planning to do both consultation and surgery on the 10th and hope for stitches removal by the 13th. I have really important plans on the 9th so that day is not an option for me. I've contacted these clinics and some of them recommended to stay in Korea for at least 7 days. Couple of my friends had the non-incisional method done in Taiwan and they didn't require post-ops or stitches removal, but of course Korea is more advanced in the field.

1. Can people share their experiences on the post-ops and if you think the surgery will be possible for me?

2. I would also like to get your feedbacks on the clinics/surgeons I've contacted. Wannabeps appeals to me the most right now, not because of the cost, but they're really responsive and detailed.

3. I am planning to negotiate when I see them in person as I am aware clinics quote higher prices online. Since I don't speak or understand Korean, what is the best way to negotiate with these clinics?

Thanks!

I really want to book a consultation with the because their b&a looks really good. Should I just drop by their clinic anyway when I'm there since I've read that many people can consult without an appointment.

You should book a consultation just in case!

i wouldn't. Why would you risk not getting an appointment time. I mean you paid for your plane ticket to fly all the way down why don't you just book an appointment. If response via email isn't good just call them.

Also, this is not a dig against Braun and I'm not saying they are a bad clinic because they aren't, but NEVER BASE YOUR CHOICE ON BEFORE AND AFTER PHOTOS. Before and after photos are marketing tools and does not clearly display a surgeon's skill. In Korea alot of before and afters are photoshopped. Not to mention you do not truly know whether that patient is a having primary surgery or the entire scope of all the procedures they had. A clinic will only show you their best work, and you will never have a gauge of their success to botch ratio. Additional, every individual patient's requirements and requests is different. We may look at a before and after and think, oh the surgeon made this patient's nose too low for my liking. When it could also very well be that the patient requested for a subtle change.

The most effective way to select the right surgeon is to do your research on the procedures and surgeons you want, and select based on proposed methodology. Pick the best surgeon who specialises in the most efficient methodology for your pre exisiting structure, for your face.

I have tried contacting Braun but they mention that they couldn't interpret unless I had a translator with me which is why they declined my appointment so that led me to believe that they don't have any English speaking staff.Even if I were to call them I'm afraid I would the able to communicate since I don't speak Korean. I know I shouldn't base anything off the pictures posted by the clinics but I have heard of people having really good results with Braun on here. But anyways thanks for your concern and I really appreciate your input. I'll try to send them another email and hopefully they won't turn me down again.

From my research, Dr. Park has higher botch rate (seen 3 ppl with tilted nose). If you want to do nose there, try to go with Dr. Kim or Dr. Lee.

Braun has Dr. Park kwang min ... He looks youngest and wears glasses
Since you mentioned, I looked him up on Braun's website. It's weird that he is in the "doctor introduction" (with least experience and qualifications) but not in the "family photo" of Braun doctors. Maybe this says something...

Thanks babe! There are afew Dr Kim & Dr Lee, can you point out which one?
-Dr Kim Gui Rak, Dr Kim Jin Seok or Dr Kim Tae-Gyu
-Dr Lee - Lee Jung Hun & Dr Lee Jae Cheol

Also do you know of any real-life/personal experiences/results about their patients that you could share with me? I am very interested in this clinic, thanks!

Kim Tae-Gyu is the head doctor at Braun, he used to do rhino but he only does facial contouring now. This clinic calims to be good at rhino and fc, so you can check him out if you want to do fc.
Kim Gui Rak is the head rhino plastic surgeon but he also does minor facial surgeries like chin implants.
Seo bo-ik and Lee Jung Hun are both rhino surgeons and both studied rhino in Dallas. Lee Jung Hun also does breast and eyes. I remember a forumer had good result doing eyes with him.
I can give you links to these surgeons' recent cases if you can't navigate in their Chinese website:
Kim Tae-Gyu, Kim Gui Rak, Seo bo-ik, Lee Jung Hun.
Actually you can tell a lot from the sequence of doctors. The doctors I mentioned above are at the top row in their Doc intro. They have Ph.D degrees and are more popular. Dr. Kim jin seok is an anaesthetist, not a plastic surgeon. Dr. Lee Jar Cheol is a skin doctor.
Braun is doing a lot of marketing in Chinese forums, and they have been recruiting and expanding... the more popular a clinic becomes, the more chance a "negative experience" will pop up. So.. I can only advise you to avoid Dr. Pak/Park Kwang min, and the rest you'll need to consult for yourself

Anyone know if there is a way to reduce the distance between mouth and nose without philtrum reduction (where they cut skin fro underneath the nose.) I've been wanting this procedure but some surgeons are quite against due to scarring. But I can't seem to find any alternatives besides lip injection which I don't want cause the volume would hide more of my upper teeth. >.<

A good read for background info. on the medical tourism scene (which PS is a part of) in South Korea, for anyone interested in getting a fuller view of the current-ish context: http://uskoreainstitute.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Handley_YB2010.pdf

A key takeaway: "... It takes a medically sophisticated tourist to have truly informed consentin order to select the appropriate treatment and distinguish charlatans from legitimate sources of care." (emphasis mine)
