Hi everyone,
I’ve been a long time lurker, and finally decided to post because I’m flat out frustrated.
I’m 27 years old and female. My first cosmetic surgery was back when I was 18. I went on a trip to Korea to get DES from Ruby and got a little botched. It doesn’t look HORRIBLE, but I do need the help of makeup to hide the asymmetry.
For years now, I’ve been wanting rhinoplasty and because I’m Asian, I don’t trust western plastic surgeons. Ideally, I want to put my trust into a Korean doctor, but it seems that no clinic is trustworthy in Korea. They’re all run like scam businesses.
I’ll see a good review for a clinic, then see another person saying they were totally botched. Doctors constantly leaving clinics and changing to new ones (which is sketchy to me). Weird marketing tactics and discounts in exchange for (positive) reviews which skews transparency in reviewers. I can never know what’s real or not. These serve as just the tip of the iceberg.
I’m starting to feel disheartened and discouraged by all this because I’ve wanted this procedure for 8+ years now, but can’t tell what’s a good clinic and what’s not. No one wants to get botched, and I feel going to incessantly rotational PS clinics like the ones in Korea increase the likelihood of that, with the possibility of shadow/ghost doctors, surgeon burnout, overall carelessness, etc.
