Very well said BBgirly, I could not agree more. You know before I came to VIP clinic, I had a few friends from this website who have dealt with VIP, they were always there to support and encourage me and tell me good things about Dr Lee. Now after I have met Dr Lee in person, I can fully understand why people would do that. He does as much as he can in his clinic by himself. He changes the dressings and cleaning patients' noses by himself. One day I had my dressing changed by his assistant doctor while he was busy, he actually called me and asked me to come back to the clinic after he finished his surgery all because he has to see it by himself. lol
Dr Lee is a very patient and skillful doctor and treat everyone so nicely. In their clinic, there are 80% cases are revision cases and a lot of them are really hard. For some extremely hard cases, a lot other doctor will not accept the patients, but they will refer them to Dr Lee. Over years, Dr Lee has granted many patients' beauty dreams.
When I was at the clinic, I found that a lot of patients actually took their after photos in two weeks' time, at that time, the swallon is not subsituted and the nose is not well defined yet. Other than that, only a small group of people are willing to share their photos online. So it is not fair to judge his work based on those photos. From people I met in person through his clinic, I can clearly see great improvements in their looks. There is one girl after nose job and fat grafting, she looks like a baby doll. And another girl looks like a euroasian after the surgery. A lot of patients have to have a certificate from the clinic because they have dramatic improvements on their look and might have trouble to pass the custom. lol
Thank you girl, that is very informative and helpful. I remembered that in VIP Clinic, JoAnn told me that it took 16 years' all together in Korea to be a fully qualified plastic surgeon. Now I understand more about ENT and Plastic surgery. Geez, one good thing about failing so many rihnoplasty before is that I am gonna be an expert in explaining a lot of medical terms. Lol
Good luck,I am sure you will be happy with your nose if it is not a difficult case I had the same concerns before and did not know who to trust for my revision, but I had read so many people give good reviews of VIP clinic, that is why I chose them. Dr Jung offered a free revision with Goretex or $1,500 with Rib for me, but I decided not to go with him. I would rather to go with Dr Lee, who I have never read a bad review from this Forum, everyone went to him seemed to be happy. I am happy with mine as well. With Dr Jung just be specific and be cautious, I am sure you will have a pretty nose too Good luck
Best of luck sexyasian85, somethng you have to know abou him is that he is not a famous docotr in Korea, he is not a plastic surgeon, he is only an ENT doctor, he does a lot of business in China and he trains doctors from China, that is why a lot of Chinese thinks he is the best doctor in Korea.
I liked his before and after photos before I came to him, but his result really let me down. And the after care service was shocking too, that is nurse instructed me to massage my nose, but he told me two days later not to. And when I contacted him half year later with my photos of my nose and asked him to provide a solution, he let me waited NINE days before he got back to me with a short massage, actually the message was not from him, was from his assistant.
Third, no matter you believe it or not, when I came to his clinic while I was staying, I did not see any Koreans. If he is really as famous as he claimed, why nobody in local trusts him.
Forth, I am not posting my story here to scare anyone. I was slient about his arrogant attitude and very unprofessional behavior, but I finally decided to post the whole story just to warn people who are considering him, even he does a good job on you, it is just by luck. Given that you like the before and after photos of his, you have to know what kind of material he chose to use. For my case, he used a bit of donated rib, my nose looks lot better immediately after surgery than half year later. THE RESULT DOES NOT LAST.
Plus, he is really not cheaper than any of the other clinic in Korean. I hope my message will at least give you an alarm, if you do go with him, please make sure you ask him what to do instead of just listening to the nurse's instructions.
My story was not just talking about an unhappy result, it actually shows how his business is operated, like have more than 10 doctors observing the surgery while I am having mine. He does not check your nose on a daily base, nurse will be the one who helps you with after care. When there is an issue, he is not actively seeking the solution, rather show his arrogant and rude behavior.
Again, best of luck hope you go through yours just fine.
Hi BBgirly, I can't PM you, did you choose to not send or receive private message? Anyway my email is , please send me message and i will pass Huixin's email address on
sorry to confuse you dear, he did use my ear cartilage on my tip area, the donated rib was used on my nose column ( I forgot the medical word for this bit). So half year later, my nose column is deviated and contracted due to the donated rib absorbtion. I could not see my column even on the side of my nose. He chose to use this material without discussing with me and without telling me the truth afterwards. I am willing to share my before and after pictures with you as long as you promise me you will not show it to other people. I believe the picture will speak of the truth to you and you will understand why I was so depressed after my nose was done by him.
Dear all, I am 6 days post surgery with VIP clinic for a nose revision. I am planning to post my experience here to let more people know about this clinic. Before I start, I would like to thank a few friends that I have made over this site i.e. Izora, BBgirly, Houseoftaylor etc. They are very sharing and supportive friends, who have shared their complete experience with VIP clinic to me. Therefore I have an opportunity to know this special clinic and meet a great doctorDr Lee. I have done four times nose job before I found VIP. Those are huge mistakes that I have made when I was younger, I wanted to have a prettier nose, so I had it done with L shape silicone. When the complications start to show, I had the implants changed to Goretex. A lot of doctors claimed that this is the best implant material for nose, but I had numerous complications with it and have to go through three revisions within two years time. Due to previous implants complications, I decided to use homologous rib cartilage for my revision and wished that it would be the very last nose job that I have to go through. But finding the right doctor is a rather harder process than going through a nose job. Especially in Korea, there are about 500 plastic surgery clinics on the street where VIP clinic located and each of them claimed that they are the best, even less than 50% of them are qualified. Luckily through this forum, I found VIP clinic. So I had an online consultation with them. JoAnn, the manager who deals with foreign patients in this clinic wrote back to me and to my surprise, it was a very long email, which states the problems of my nose from nose structure to nose skin and raised the solutions of those issues. From my point of view, the online consultation was as much through as seeing the doctor in person. As a girl who had so many bad experiences in rhinoplasty, I am very cautious. I really could not afford one more mistake so I always have questions and concerns. In two months time, I wrote more than 40 emails to JoAnn, thank to her great patient and warm nature, she has never let me down over the email communication. She always answered my questions with as many details as she could provide. On 6th December I finally arrived at Korea, VIP clinic arranged airport pick up service for me, when I arrived at the clinic, it was about 8pm. JoAnn and a few administration staff and Doctor Lee were waiting for me. When I met Dr Lee in the treatment room, he was still working, doing a final check up for a girl who has done fat grafting. Speak of this, something really worth to mention in VIP clinic is that Dr Lee is an experienced doctor with great skills and a warm heart. He provides very individual tailored services to each single client. He actually changes the dressings, check the patients conditions every single day by himself. When I was staying in VIP clinic, I actually get to see Dr Lee at least twice a day. He changes dressings and checks up my nose during day time and comes to greeting us before he got off from work. My surgery was scheduled on 8th December, before surgery, Dr Lee did a very detailed consultation with me. Not like other doctors, he was extremely honest, he told me that my nose conditions are very poor, he will do his best, but cannot guarantee a perfect result. As my nose is serve asymmetrical and deviated, he can only try his best to correct it. I was not put too much expectation into my nose, all I wanted was just have a normal nose without any implant complications. Prettier look will be a bonus to come with this revision for me. By then, I already had true confidence in Dr Lee, and it was the very first time in my life before my surgery, I felt I trusted the doctor in full already. On the surgery date, the nurse came to my room (a recovery room in the clinic, where I have been stayed for about 2 days before surgery and 3 days after surgery). I told her I was nervous, she actually held my hands to encourage me during the anesthetic process. I went into the surgery room at 9 am and Dr Lee woke me up at 12:00am on the 9th. It was true!!! My case was so difficult and really took great patience and skill of the doctor to perform a revision for me. I cant believe that he has been in the surgery room working for more than ten hours. I bursted into tears when he told me that my surgery was very successful, and felt deeply guilty at the same time by making the doctor working so hard for me. With nurses' help, I came back to my recovery room, where I have been well looked after by a nurse during the night. She came into check my conditions every hour to make sure everything was ok to me. The recovery was bit of torture to go through, as I have very thin skin, Dr Lee has to harvest dermis around my coccyx area, so I cannot lie down flat and have to lay on the side. But each day, I felt that I am recovering better and better. I still have the cast on my nose and did not have a look of my nose whole profile yet, but I take Dr Lees world, if he is happy about his work, I should be more than happy with it. The reason I say this is that I have met a girl who came from the States, she had her nose done and also had fat grafting on her forhead and chin to match her new nose. I truly believe that she looks perfect when I saw her, but Dr Lee as a perfectionist told her that her case was very hard and he was not 100% happy about the job. LOL, how funny, I am sure it is many girls dream to have a perfect profile like hers, but Dr Lee was way too strict to himself. Sorry for the long post guys, hehe hope your patience was not worn out by me yet. All right, here comes to the conclusions of my impression to VIP clinic so far: First, Dr Lee is a very skillful and experienced doctor, he truly cares about his patients. He will do the best for each individual client no matter how much trouble it takes. He has done fellowship with Dr Gunter and Dr Byrd, the two most famous doctors in America, and he is a fully qualified famous plastic surgeon in Korea. Second, VIP clinic has a bunch of more than great administrative staff, who again truly care about you and support you and provide you as much convenience as they can. From administrative girls to nurses, they are all inspired by the great culture of the clinic and aim to deliver the very best services for every single client. They have really nice facilities such as nice recovery room where you can stay after the surgery for couple days with IV injections and a great office hotel more like a self serviced apartment, with kitchen, tv, internet, computer and washing machine. I felt I am bit of spoiled by staying in this place and when I open my window, I see amazing night views of Seoul and Seoul tower. Third, doing a nose job is not just about adding some implants in your nose and create a higher nose, analyze the structure of nose and perform a surgery based on your own foundations of your nose is far more important than just create a higher nose. A lot lot of Korean plastic surgeons will stick an implant into your nose and claimed that it will last life long. You truly need a doctor who speaks of his mind like Dr Lee. And perform rihnoplasty taking into account of your nose and face structure. Forth, some very famous clinics actually do not provide the tailored service to each client, they are too busy to care. Some clinics hire very young graduates doctors and the patient will never know who really perform their surgeries. I will keep you guys updated with my result, all I can say is so far I am very happy.
Hello Kain, you might be right, but putting implant without discussing with client beforewards and lie afterwards is not professional at all. After experiencing my depression and disappointment with Dr Jung, I can not find a good excuse to explain his arrogant and inprofessional behaviors. One thing you have to know is the donated rib has 70% infection rate and 100% absorbtion over years.I was lucky that I did not have to experience the infection but only the absorbtion.
Hi dear, I am so glad to hear from you! I love your sons, they are so adorable. I did not expect you are such a pretty young girl before I met you. Hehe... I really wish that we could have more time to spend together, but as you said, when I was healing, the first few days were rather a kind of torture to me, I really did not have much thoughts to spare for other staff. I will find out Huixin's email for you today.Healing well and I will pm you with my email address.
Hi Kain, I have to admit that it took me a lot guts to say something really bad about Dr Jung. I was slient for his botched job for around 9 months and was keeping on following this forum. I saw a lot of people here are interested in his work. So I made up my mind to say something about him. Because I understand how important it is to choose the right surgeon and one botched nose job can deeply affect you in every aspect of your life. I did not want anyone to go through the same pain that I have to take and wish everyone here choose the right surgeon to your like.
Dr Lee in VIP analyses each individual patient and his surgery method is tailored to fit every one's different taste and different face structure. I was lucky enough to see a lot of different patients who are from Korea, the States and Singpore and all over the world while I was staying in here since 6th December. I saw many patients with amazing results. I am sure he will not let you down. I will write my expereince with him in full details and then you can make up your own mind. Just bare in mind, choose the right doctor is very very very important.
Dear all, I am not sure how many people remember me here now, I was very active in last couple months, then I was silent for a while. If anyone is interested, please click my name and check my previous posts for my whole story.
I am a Chinese girl living in Australia, I used L shape silicone implants for my first nose job in 1997. The result was good and I can see the great improvement in my nose, but then in 2008 I started to feel painful in my tip area. Did not want to bare the risk of protruding implant, I rushed myself into an Australian Plastic Surgeon (who is from Korea). Unfortunately, my nose was contracted a bit during years because of the silicone and this surgeon did not consider this condition and put Gore-Tex in my nose, as you can imagine, it was crooked badly. I was so depressed, so a week later, the surgeon decided to operate on me again. This time my nose turns out a lot nicer and I was happy with it, but one and half year later after the surgery, the Gore-Tex moved and my tip area (used ear cartilage)is separated from the Gore-Tex, so there was a line breaking through my thin skin and I can see my nose as two separate parts.
I went back to my previous surgeon and asked him to give me a solution, he sent me to Korea to Dr Jung. He said that is his teacher and he will do a good job on me, since my nose is very hard to operate for him. Until now, I was not happy about this surgeon's result, but I was really touched by his after care, no matter how many troubles that I have to go through, he was always there to give me a bit of support. So my conclusion to this doctor is he is a very kind doctor with a good heart but he needs more experience in cosmetic surgery area.
This year in March, I decided to make my Korean trip, I took six weeks off work and made my managements extremely unhappy about me. But at that time, I had a dream to have a perfect nose and I could not care less. On 9th March 2010 I went to Dr Jung's clinic, it was a very small clinic in an old building with an extremely small lift. There were a few other girls in the waiting room, but they are all from China and said they want to have nose job in Korea by the most famous Dr in Korea. I was in the waiting room for about one and half hour, and I did not see a single Korean girl came by. Finally I got to have the consultation with Dr Jung. He was smiling and looks nice at the beginning. Then during our consultation, he did not go through things carefully with me, I felt he was very rushed. I explained my situation and asked him to do a good job on me, coz I really did not want it to be failed again. He pointed out that my nostrils are extremely uneven, so I need a procedure to cut both of my nostrils to even them up. I did not agree on that procedure, which I can clearly tell that he was not too impressed by it. When I asked about the material to be used, he said Gore-Tex is the best. At that time, I actually kind of set my mind to Rib Cartilage, but how lucky, I did not insisted to go with rib with him. About five minutes of our consultation, he stood up and said he has to go. So my first impression to him: Very commercial doctor, not famous in Korea at all, but good at making his reputation overseas. Since my surgery cost will be covered by my previous surgeon, I felt that he knows that I will not have a second choice of the Dr and he just did not care about me at all.
My surgery was scheduled the same day in the afternoon, and when I entered the surgery room, I saw about ten Chinese Doctors standing there and the nurse explained that they are here to study and learn from Dr Jung. After my surgery I was lucky enough to talk to one of the Chinese Doctors, he told me they paid really high tuition fee to Dr Jung to come for a two days' "hands -on" course and he will give them a certificate to hang on their clinic's to prove that they are qualified. What'd hell is this? From this behavior, we can see that he can achieve two results at the same time. First make more money by doing this: second, build his reputation in China and make people think that he is the best doctor in Korea. He just did not care about whether those doctors are truly qualified for the plastic surgery, as long as they pay the money; they will have the certificate from him. This is kind of funny, as he is an ENT doctor and not a plastic surgeon.
In the surgery room, I felt very stressed, as you can imagine, more than ten people were standing around you, and they were breathing and talking, so poor me have to bare a much higher risk of infection. After about one and half hour later, my surgery is finished and he woke me up and the nurses helped me into the recovery room. In there I took a small rest and then they asked me to walk back to my hotel.
I was not happy about Dr Jung's way of operating his clinic by then, but worse things are just yet to come. The after care service in his clinic was extremely poor, I did not get to see the doctor much, it was always a nurse helped me with my dressing and so forth. I can only see him if I have a good reason and keep on begging the nurse that I want to see him. I thought he should check my nose each time I go to the clinic to make sure everything is ok, but it did not happen at all. Then the nurse told me to massage my nose, which is squeeze the implant in to help desawallen. Without much consideration, I started to massage my nose 20 times a day per nurse's instruction.
Two days after the massage, I noticed that my nose become narrower and I can clearly see a line around my implants at the right side of my nose. I was very concerned and worried, I rushed myself to the clinic and asked for help. Dr Jung checked it for around one second and said, I can't do anything right now, you have to wait for another half year to see the result and do the revision". I could not help crying in front of him, but he just stood up and asked me to go back to my hotel. I came back to hotel with great depression and disappointment. Each time I woke up at that night, I couldn't help crying. I believe each single ppl who had nose job before will understand me, having one botched nose job was enough stress to put on, and I have to go through that kind of stress and depress for three more times.
On the day when I supposed to go back to Australia, I went into his clinic to ask for a final confirmation and check up. When I came in, he saw me and he left me on the treatment chair, without greeting me or anything, he started to brush his teeth in front of a sink in the same treatment room. There was awkward silence in that room, and he was really taking his time to clean up his own teeth. I considered this behavior is extremely arrogant. If only he has ever had a heart for his patient, he should understand their feelings and give their consultation priority to his own teeth.
As you can imagine, he did not tell me what to do again rather just told me to wait. By then I knew that no matter how much I hated it, I have to go through for another revision, when I asked him what kind of material that he has used, he told me that he used Gore-Tex and my ear cartilage. I found out now after another surgery, that he used donated rib cartilage without discussing with me. What happened is half year later, the donated rib cartilage filled area got fully absorbed and my nose is more deviated.
This is actually the first time I decide to post my experience with him to the everyone in this forum. As a girl who has went through so many nose jobs, I fully understand how important it is to choose the right doctor. I hope my post will warn anyone who is interested in Dr Jung, please just remember: First he is not a plastic surgery doctor, he is ENT and his cosmetic result is very limited. Second, he is a good in making himself famous in overseas, but he is really nothing in local Korean area. Third, he is very money driven and he does not provide good after care and all in all, he doesn't care about his patients at all.

Hey BBgurly, I will be by myself. You should be very happy on 6th as you have your surgery on 1st and then will be able to see the initial result at that time My surgery is on 8th. I am looking forward to seeing you. We can go out and eat Korean hot pot together. I had the best seafood hotpot in Seoul last couple times when I was there. Don't forget to pack some warm clothes with you. I heard it is freezing down there now.
Hey BBgurly, I have confirmed my dates with JoAnn today. I will arrive at Korea on 6th and will have my surgery on 8th. I actually hoped that they can book me in a bit earlier, but they are so fully booked. So from next week onwards they only have 7th, 8th and 9th December available. But anyway, my plan is finally solid set and we will have an opportunity to meet up as well yeah!!! I can totally understand that ur feelings. I am the same, so excited, so expecting and so nervous as well. Lol
To BBgurly, hi are u ready for ur trip yet? The day is getting closer, u must be excited Keep me updated about your experience with VIP, I am still trying my best to get my dates fitted similar with urs so we can actually get chance to meet in person.
To Koreanboy, I guess everyone here just to discuss the personal experience and talk about prons and cons of each different material. When I first read your post, I found it is really infomative and friendly and you actually are very sharing guy to post your experience here and keep everyone updated. However, I did find maybe because the nature of your occupation as a lawyer, you turns to be really agressive when other ppl have different opinion with yours and really defensive to yourself.
The idea of having the forum is to discuss and share, not to put other people down. Before you, there were Izora and Houseoftaylor wrote their experiences with VIP, which a lot of people including me really appreciate that. It was not nice to see other people pointed at you and said you were advertising, you were really upset about that, but now you are doing exactly the same thing, you just pointed to other people ( two nice girls, who I have been communicating with for a while)and said they were not responsible. Which I consider it is not a proper behaviour either.
Talking about nose job, I have went through four times so far, first with silicone for ten years and then goretex ---Three revisions within two years due to complications. I decided to choose rib for my nose revision this time. From your post, you said rib is not commonly used in the primary case, and only be used in complicated cases, that is actaully stating that rib is a better material in complicated cases and trust me, no body wants to go through a revision, if you want a nose job, you'd better get it right at the first place. Rib is not perfect, but compare with the other materials it is lot safer. If someone wants to post the side effect of silicones, there are far more horrible stories to be told.
So I guess I would stand up to defend my friends who have been supportive and friendly to me.
Hi I am gonna to have mine done at Christmas time as well. I have been using other ppl's experience on this site as a guide. There are many nice and sharing girls on this site are sharing their experiences with us. We should really appreciate them. For ur nose job, u need narrow down the material u want to use first and then decide ur surgeon. U can post your details here, for example, primary or revision, preferred material etc to get the right suggestions from other people here. Good luck
Hi Milk, I am sorry my hesitation has affected u. From my personal experience with JoAnn, I believe they are a very good clinic. Especially I have been communicated with Izora and House of Taylor, they both are really responsible and honest girls. According to their experience, VIP is a clinic with top notch of service and good result. I am only hesitating cos I like o and young's b and a better than theirs. So I consulted with a Korean friend of mine, wish to have a second opinion. He did a search and told me VIP have some bad reviews. I can't read Korean, so I can only take his words. But I am so confused as people who actually had surgery there were giving the best reviews for them. I am sure if u like their b and a photos, u will never go wrong with them. I just am not sure with the front views. I love the side profiles though. I think they all look amazing, but the front views are not clear enough to give a fair judge of his work. I have to admit yes I am hesitating, but I am also stil very lean towards VIP. I am more in favour of visiting Korea and do consultation with them first then decide which one to go.
Hi Uzura, i am glad u like u consultation. I am now swinging in between VIP and Oand Young. A Korean friend of mine told me they have many unhappy clients in Korea. I am bit of confused I hold the same opinion as yours, going overseas to have the nose surgery and we'd better more than 100 percent sure than which doctor we choose. I will do an intensive search and will share my information with u guys in a few days time.
Hi Shinangel, sorry to know u have the same problem with me. I have emailed my last doctor. He provided a rib cartilage revision for $1,500, but I am kind of worrying that he would not be fully responsible as it is only less than 20 percent which he normally charges. I can't trust him since he already messed up my nose once. For the reason of goretex migrate, he said it is unknown. That is why I decided to use rib this time, as I can't afford another loss.
Hi Megoreng, I did not set up my mind yet. I am swinging really hard between VIP and o and young. I prebooked with joann via phone a few days ago, but I told her I will final confirm with them in next couple weeks' time. The reason I am still considering is the photos on VIP website, I want a dramatic change but the front profiles the noses are just not very well defined. I like o and young's style much better, I have not done any consultation with them yet. So I am not sure how much it would be at this stage. I have communicated with a translator and will provide him details after my exam. Speak of budget, I am saving hard for this nose job as well, but I 'd rather spend more money to get it right this time rather than going back to Korea again and again. I will keep u all updated once I decided which one to go and my experience with both clinic. Currently I am thinking of staying in Korea for a longer period of time and having consultation with both of them. Please forgive me of keeping changing my mind;p all I wanted is best result I can achieve.

hi Sandylieu, please refer to above link for o and young's before and after photos. I have done four nose jobs before, three times with goretex and all failed cos goretex moved and show the implant margin through my skin. I heard o and young are not really accomodating to foreign clients. But I really love their results. I am thinking of getting a translator to have a consultation with them.
Hey Sandylieu, I don't mind dr lee 's style, I love the side views of the b&a photos. But I am not too impressed with the front view. The noses of his clients' on his website looks too big and wide and not defined. I love o&young's result. It is very important to do it right at the first place. I highly recommend u use rib instead of silicone.
