Hope, good luck with your surgeries. Would you consider splitting up your surgeries into 2 trips? Like people have commented above, doing the procedures above will put a lot of stress on your body -cos of the amount of time you're under anaesthesia/sedation, and multiple procedures increases your healing time/risk.
I don't mean to nag, but health and safety are so important, and while we want to be beautiful and a huge makeover change, it's probably best to be conservative on a medical trip to a foreign country.
Hi k! Not me personally but my good friend has paranasal implants. No change to nostril shape/ability to open mouth wide.
BUT, there was non-ideal placement of the implant and one looks perfect but the other is at an awkward height. It was a revision implant. First time placement wasn't ideal, second time placement -one side was perfect, the other was worse than before. I know that's not what you asked about, but it's a potential effect to consider.
I'm very intrigued to hear about your shorter healing time for FG this time around. Riddle me this! Have you been healthier in general, hence the Wolverine-ness? Or are FG top-ups just easier on the body compared to primary FG?
Sunrise, I love your eyes!! I think they look great, and they're healing so nicely. They look bigger, especially the lids, and longer/more opened up. It's early days (5 days is way too early to worry about asymmetry), so I'm sure they will even out some.
How do you find the healing time for lateral? Were you told of any side effects from lateral? I'm trying to find out more about this procedure, cos it doesn't seem as popular as epi, and I've heard about potential slanting.
Hi wishingstar, I didn't experience any lengthening of upper lip. The only change in smile is that the nostrils look less spread-out when smiling (which was the effect I wanted).
hi kgoevol, it's common to have cotton packing up your nose on first day to stem blood flow. You can breathe through it, and after it's removed you'll be back to normal breathing.
Hi! I'm not sure about the exact incision sites, to be honest, except that they're from inside of nose, so definitely no lines/indents visible from outside for me.
I got a chin fg a few months back. I love how it looks, but would like more volume and projection. (I'm also not great at keeping fat on my face. I've experienced absorption and definitely need a top-up).
Would you say that chin implants are a generic kind of procedure, that most surgeons can get right? Or is it more one of those that take a finely-tuned eye for proportion and precision? (I'm wondering if I should splash out on a pricey doctor with a great rep -the perpetual dilemma!)
It's true there isn't a lot of info on chin augmentation here. Random fact about chin fg: I was told that a potential side effect is that fg can move and change the chin into a hooked shape (dunno how true it is, and it hasn't happened for me).
Also, I had friends who healed a lot better than me, who didn't take any of the above (arnica/bromelain/pineapple juice). Pffft, I'm jealous of those Wolverines!
I think in large part, good healing it comes down to: general fitness levels, how clean/low-sodium your regular diet is (mine is NOT clean, I am the junk food queen!!!), how bruise/swell-prone you are usually.
Hi hopefulbliss! Good question, and I don't think you're going to get a straight answer, as there are so many schools of thought on this (many of which are contradictory).
The western doctors tend to recommend bromelain/arnica -some recommend to take a few days before surgery and continue after surgery, some recommend taking only after surgery. You're right that they can be classified as herbal supplements, but there have been cases where they have side effects (eg. tummy upsets etc).
The doctors in Seoul tend not to recommend these supplements, as they say that the results can be unpredictable, and in some cases -interfere with the meds that they prescribe post-surgery. I've also heard doctors/consultants in Seoul call pumpkin juice an old-fashioned remedy with little medical basis.
In my experience, arnica/bromelain/pineapple juice didn't hurt, I didn't experience any side effects (I also took vitamin C pills, and lots of fruit every day). I'm not sure how much it helped with the swelling, or whether it was all in the mind though!
I paid with a combination of cash and credit card. Cash had a great exchange rate, but I didn't want to be carrying wads and wads around, so I just paid with what I was comfortable carrying around, and the rest with credit card.
Eagerly awaiting FAQ section (i.e. "When my swelling goes down, will I look like Angelababy?" and "My friend's baby kicked me in the nose, what do I do now???!!!" )
BTW, if you're planning to visit a periodontist in Seoul, Hus-hu clinic (Apgujeong branch) is pretty good!
I got a routine scaling/polishing when I was there, and had a consultation with the periodontist too. The consultation was amazingly thorough (x-rays, multiple photos -they emailed me copies of all) and the service for the cleaning was really good, and the price could not be beat -get this, it was 30,000 KRW for x-ray, consult and scaling. Perios in my home country charge 4 times the price just for a consult
Agreed that botox is probably the most efficient, least invasive method to cure gummy smile due to overactive lip muscle.
Gingivoplasty (gum contouring) is another method, but it makes one's teeth look longer, and since you don't want your teeth to look bigger, that's probably not as appropriate for you.
Changchange, I was curious so I chatted with the English-fluent consultant. The consultant said it's til end November but only for Korea locals, as there's a separate marketing team and separate offers run for locals. I've always known foreigners get ripped off a bit (and to be reasonable, clinics need to get back the cost of business of dealing with foreigners -hiring translators etc) but this is pretty blatant and cynical.
My friend also emailed them and was told that the promotion is over (it's a bit of a mixed message!)
