Hi everyone,
I consulted with The Line today about bulbous nose reduction and bridge augmentation. The surgeon gave me a choice between septum cartilage or donor cartilage for my tip. He never mentioned anything about ear cartilage. When I asked further, he said that Asians generally do not have strong septum for tip so he didn't recommend septum for my tip.
For my bridge, he recommended silicone implant (5-6mm which I'm kind of worried about since that is a bit high for a previously flat nose, no?).
Have you guys heard anything about donor rib cartilage? The Line is very high on my list for rhino.
Thank you!~~
I know, it's even more difficult when it's hereditary haha.
I assumed liposuction greatly reduces the chances of fat coming back to the area since fat cells are taken out. Hopefully that's the case and I manage my weight well after the procedure if I decide to do it!
Hi everyone!
It's me again, this time asking about lipo instead of rhino haha. Has anyone had experience with double-chin/jawline/jowl liposuction? I've looked into one clinic that specializes in it and their quoted price was much lower than I expected. I'm just wondering if there are a lot of risks with running lipo so close to the neck.
I'm in my 20s within the healthy BMI for my height, but I've always had a double chin. In my side profile when I look up, it kind of looks like a slope from my chin to my neck (?). I'm not quite sure how to explain. Basically I would like my jawline to be seen like in the attached picture. It's an upside down L from under her chin to her neckline which is what I want, whereas mine looks more of like a J.
Does anyone have any thoughts on chin/face lipo? I'd like to make my face appear smaller without shaving my jaw or cheekbones.
I recently found another clinic that specializes in alarplasty. I should've named this thread differently :\ Maybe "Rhinoplasty in other Asian countries" since it's a bit difficult to come by reviews for non-Korean surgeons on this forum.
Anyway, here is the link for anyone who's interested! http://www.theiconclinic.com/face.html#facegallery
Hi celavive!
I haven't seen many updates from users who have done their surgeries outside of Korea. If they did, they would ask you to PM them but those users have been inactive for a few months. I've used the search tool to look up Dr. Wang Ting's name as a keyword but no recent updates.
Hi twocupcakes!
Thanks so much for letting us know about the red flags. I've read bad reviews about Shimmian but I had no idea that he was trained with Dr. Jung. It's a shame though, because a lot of pictures from the nosejung website look promising
I haven't looked into Taiwanese doctors yet but I have heard some users mentioning Taiwanese PS from time to time. I found a few websites that blogged their experience at Dr. Ryan Hsu's clinic. The results are very natural if anyone is interested at taking a look! http://bignosee.blogspot.com.au/ http://missuglynose.blogspot.com.au/2010/01/day-7-big-day.html
I've been looking around this forum and on clinic websites extensively. While I agree that the majority South Korean nose jobs turn out beautifully, I'm not sure if they have what I am looking for. The clinic that produces results closest to what I want is MVP.
I have a wide alar base and my columella lines up with my alar base, if that makes sense. These are the things that I would like to have fixed:
- bridge augmentation
- tip plasty for bulbous nose
- extend my columella
- alar base reduction
My concern is with the last two: from the pictures that I've seen, there doesn't seem to be much lengthening of the columella. With alar base reduction, most of the "before" cases don't have that much of a large nostril to begin with and for those that did, the nostrils looks a bit to squished in.
In addition, I don't think "alar wall raising" or "'nose lift" is really a thing in Korea. I'm afraid I won't explain it properly so I've attached a small image that I drew haha. It's basically a side view of a nose and I would like the side nasal lines to be thinner.
Maybe you can keep this post updated once your rhinoplasty is done and goes well! I'd love to hear how it goes. I've been debating for 3 years already, I need to get on it! Haha.
Oh wow, that's so soon! Wishing you all the best with your surgery I may have to wait until next summer since my breaks are so short.
I was looking at MVP just now and their results are so dramatic but they also look incredible. I've tried fillers in the nose bridge and a bit in the tip but they wear off too quickly. I really hope next June works out.
Thank you both so much! I'm still in the process of researching but these are the best ones I've seen so far When are you guys planning on going to Korea?
Hey all,
Does anyone have good recommendations on surgeons who do a good job fixing bulbous and wide-alar noses? I'd like refine the tip, extend my nose so as to make it look longer and also to make the nostrils less visible from the front. Some of the pictures I've seen look a bit off since the nostrils were round in the before shot and more like triangular slits in the after shot...
*EDIT: Or if anyone can recommend surgeons who operate very well on bulbous noses and wide alars without the nostrils looking too squished in, that would also be great
Hey all!
I was just wondering if anyone knew which surgeon operated on Chaeyeon's nose. (Before I receive any backlash, she admitted that she had work on her nose). I really like how natural her surgery turned out and how the surgeon kind of extended her columnella. Her previous nose is close to how mine looks at the moment. Mine is more bulbous and my nostrils are wider and more visible from the front, though.
If anyone can provide feedback, it would be greatly appreciated! I've been considering getting my nose done for a few years now but whenever I look at "bulbous nose - before and after" pictures from clinics, I don't quite like the results since they look to squished in, if that makes sense. Most pictures seem like they just cut the alars and tied it together.
Chaeyeon's turned out beautifully. Please help a girl out! Haha.
