  1. My 1st surgery (tummy and double chin lipo) took about 3.5 hours. After having food and all those post-op advice, I left the clinic at around 8pm. The staff will make sure that you are well and able to walk on your own without feeling any giddiness etc before they can let you go. Do bear in mind that you will be wearing diaper and that there will still be tumescent liquid flowing out but should not leak if the diaper is worn correctly for tummy liposuction. Hence, it might still be possible for you to go for other consultations depending on your comfort level.
For thighs liposuction, the possibility of the tumescent liquid leaking out/dripping is higher despite wearing diaper. Hence, I suggest that you should go straight back to your hotel to rest after your thighs liposuction.
If not, I suggest to wait until your wounds are stitched up before going for other consultations.

  2. I have not been exercising because I am still wearing the compression garment. I read that it is better to stop exercising until 1-2 months later. As for the diet, I am still eating the same stuff as before. But of course, I stopped snacking. Maybe that's why my weight went down.
However, I think the main reason why my weight went down even in the 1st week is because that some of my incision sites are left partially opened during the 1st 2 days. It let the tumescent liquid to flow out so that the liquid is not "trapped" inside the body which can result in prolonged swelling.
The consultation takes about 30mins. However, they have specific timings for the consultation. Dr Jeon can only do the consultation after he finished the surgery. I think his surgery timings are 10am and 2pm. So, his consultation time is usually at 6pm.

  3. The results are good to me.
After the 3rd week, my weight is 56.7kg now.
I had the medications for about 7 days. Do not worry as Evita Clinic will give you a list of the medications that you are taking and the purpose of the medications. I think it is pretty good because at least you know what you are taking.

  4. Liposuction Cost

Total cost for liposuction: 5,940,000 won (including VAT)

    1) Tummy Liposuction – 2,200,000 won

    2) Thigh Liposuction – 2,750,000 won

    3) Chin Liposuction – 990,000 won

    Compression garment – 100,000 won

    Body Composition Analysis

    Body Fat Mass (23/09/2019) - 22.3kg

    Body Fat Mass (04/10/2019) – 15.7kg

    Body Weight (23/09/2019) – 61.3kg

    Body Weight (04/10/2019) – 61.1kg

Overall Verdict: I am very satisfied with the service at Evita Clinic. Dr Jeon and all the staff at the clinic are really caring and cheerful. They made sure that I was okay during my visits with them and kept asking me if I am in pain because I did a full body liposuction but surprisingly, I don’t really feel pain. Maybe my tolerance level for pain is high?

Why I chose Evita Clinic: There were some forumers who mentioned Evita Clinic but there was no review on it in PurseForum. I went to google and managed to find some positive reviews. I don’t believe in paying premium prices for liposuction because I am a foreigner. Hence, I took a gamble and went to Evita Clinic for my full body liposuction. I paid a total of 5,510,000 won for my liposuction (after VAT refund) and 200,000 won for my compression garments (paid to the seamstress directly).

  5. 27/09/2019 (Friday)

I went to Evita clinic to have my facial, tummy and thigh massage again. My thighs were very swollen. The therapists spent some time massaging my thighs to help to reduce the swelling. I could not see my knee caps neither nor my ankles. They are missing! Gasps!

28/09/2019 to 29/09/2019 (Sat and Sun)

Evita clinic is closed during the weekends and so, I won’t be getting any massages. As usual, I spent at least 5 hours walking every day to help reduce the swelling. My feet became very swollen that I am not able to wear my sandals. I could only wear my sport shoes which are of a bigger size. My feet became slightly painful and I thought that they are going to burst anytime. I ate my medications religiously and elevated my legs when I sleep in an attempt to reduce the swelling in my feet.

    30/09/2019 (Monday)

I went to Evita clinic to have my facial, tummy and thigh massage again. My thighs and feet are still swollen. The nurse dropped by to take a look at my incision sites and told me that they are clean and told me not to worry about it. I asked the nurse about the removal of the stitches and the nurse told me that if the wound has healed and it looked clean, they would be able to remove it before I leave Korea. The usual timing to remove the stitches is between 7 and 10 days.

    01/10/2019 (Tuesday)

I went to Evita clinic to have my facial, tummy and thigh massage again. My thighs and feet are still swollen. The nurse came and looked at me again. She told me to bring my compression garment tomorrow so that the seamstress could alter it to a smaller size as she felt that the compression garment might become a bit loose now.

    02/10/2019 (Wednesday)

I went to Evita clinic to have my facial, tummy and thigh massage again. My thighs and feet are still swollen. The nurse came and looked at me again. The nurse told me that my wounds look clean and that Dr Jeon would be able to remove the stitches today. The seamstress came and reviewed me in my compression garment. The nurse and seamstress discussed and told me that they would reduce the compression garment by 1 cm so that I could wear them once I got them. I went to the Operating theatre to have Dr Jeon look at me again. Dr Jeon removed half of the stitches on each incision sites. He told me that he will review me on Friday again to see if he could remove all the stitches. Nevertheless, I was happy that I might be able to have all stitches removed before leaving Korea.

    03/10/2019 (Thursday)

As it is Foundation Day (Public Holiday) in Korea, I could not go to Evita Clinic as it is closed. My usual routine is to walk for at least 5 hours a day to reduce swelling. My thighs and feet seemed to be getting less swollen today. Yay! However, I was still sleeping with my legs elevated.

    04/10/2019 (Friday)

I went to Evita Clinic early in the morning because I had a flight to catch in the afternoon. I had tummy and legs massage today. The staff brought me to do a body analysis and have some photos taken. After which, the nurse came and brought me to the Operating Theatre. Dr Jeon proceeded to remove all the stitches because the wounds seem to have healed completely. I raised my concerns about the scarring and Dr Jeon prescribed me with more steri-strips and gel for me to apply. I was given more medications to help reduce swelling. Dr Jeon also advised me on my diet after liposuction. He also prescribed me with some appetite suppressants to take.

    05/10/2019 (Saturday) to 09/10/2019 (Wednesday)

I have been massaging myself on the tummy and thighs areas. I am still wearing the compression garment for 24 hours. My thighs and feet were still swollen but they seemed to be improving. My thighs were slightly red/pink near the knee and they seemed to get worse when I wore the smaller size garment. I could feel some heat too. After 2 days of wearing the smaller size garment on alternate days, I decided to stop wearing the smaller size garment until the redness resolved.

    10/10/2019 (Thursday) to 11/10/2019 (Friday)

My thighs and feet were improving. They were less swollen now. However, the redness at the thigh areas was still there.

    12/10/2019 (Saturday)

My thighs and feet are improving day by day. My feet are no longer swollen (but maybe just a tiny bit) and I can wear my sandals now. The redness in my thighs seemed to reduce. Yay! I have been massaging myself conscientiously every day. The bumps and lumps seem to disappear day by day.

    13/10/2019 (Sunday)

My thighs seem to be less red now with the redness in my left thigh almost gone. My right thigh is still having some redness but I am sure that the redness will disappear with time. However, my feet are definitely getting much better.

  6. 26/09/2019 (Thursday)

I woke up early and had a quick breakfast because I decided to go to the clinic early despite my appointment was at 2pm to check on my incision sites on my butt cheek. Myrene called me at around 930am and asked me how I was and told me to go to the clinic early so that they could check on me. I hailed a taxi to go to the clinic and told them my ordeal. The nurses helped to clean me up and I went to the operating theatre to have Dr Jeon looked at my incision sites and to stitch up the open wounds. Luckily for me, the wounds are clean and alright. Phew!

After the stitching up was done, I was led to another room where the therapists gave me a facial, tummy massage and legs massage.

My chin bandage was removed and the nurse said that I do not need the chin bandage anymore. However, she put a steri-strip tape on the incision site. There were still other small face plasters on my face due to the mole removals.

After my massage was done, the nurses help me to wear my compression garment. I was able to bathe from today onwards. Yay! The compression garment has to be worn for 24 hours a day for 2 weeks. After which, I can wear the compression garment for 12 hours a day for 2 weeks. After 4 weeks of wearing, I can stop wearing the compression garment.

Took the subway back to the hotel and walked around the neighbourhood as walking helps in deswelling.

I was so happy to be able to bathe and remove my compression garment. The feeling was weird when the compression garment was removed. I felt that my body was not “gel” together.

Compression garment is important to help reduce swelling and to prevent seroma.

  7. 25/09/2019 (Wednesday)

I woke up early to have my breakfast as I was going to have thigh liposuction at 2pm.

I went to the clinic via subway wearing the diaper. The experience was okay though.

I reached the clinic early and the nurse gave me an IV drip because I was going to have thigh liposuction in the afternoon. The IV drip could provide me with some nutrients. I also had a tummy treatment before the surgery.

I went to the consultation room where Dr Jeon asked me the type of shape that I wanted. He asked me if I wanted curvy shape or any other shape and I replied that I had never thought of it before and I just wanted my inner thighs to be a bit slimmer. He explained the number of incisions that he is going to make and the incisions that he is going to leave open. He proceeded to draw the markings on my thighs. He told me that he would not be doing any changes to my butt as they are good and not saggy. After the drawings are done, I proceeded to the operation room.

There are a total of 6 incision sites for thigh liposuction. For the front, there are 2 incision sites at the pelvis areas. (The same incision site is used during the tummy liposuction)

For the back, there are 4 incision sites. 1 each at the butt cheek on each side (the same incision site is used during the tummy liposuction) and another 1 each at each side of the body

I woke up in the recovery room afterwards. Had the beef porridge and drank water and orange juice. The nurses helped me to the toilet and I was walking slowly due to the diaper. The pinkish liquid kept coming out when I am sitting down. The nurses kept squeezing out the liquid and they told me that it is good that the liquid is coming out because that will mean that my swelling will reduce faster. The nurses helped to clean me up and taught me how to wear the diaper as there are 2 incision sites below my butt cheeks. The 2 open incision sites had cotton gauzes taped onto my butt. Hence, I have to wear the diaper lower to prevent the liquid from dripping out.

Dr Jeon came and took a look at me before I left the clinic. They helped me book a taxi back to my hotel.

I am not allowed to bathe until tomorrow after Dr Jeon stitches the incision sites completely.

I was back in my hotel and that is when my nightmare started.

I went to the toilet before going to bed. There was so much liquid coming out that my cotton gauzes were soaked wet and dropped to the floor. I tried to stop the liquid from coming out due to fear but then remembered that I should instead squeeze out as much liquid as I could so that they would stop. After a while, the liquid seemed to have stopped. During the cleaning up, a stitch had dropped out. I was flabbergasted. Nevertheless, I used tissue papers and some tape to tape the incision sites before wearing the diaper. During the whole ordeal, I tried to text and call Myrene but to no avail. Oh well.

I lied out the changing pad and slept on it so that I would not stain the bedsheets with the liquid.

  8. 24/09/19 (Tuesday)

I have decided to do tummy, thighs and double chin liposuction. When I reached the clinic, I informed Myrene of my decision. Myrene passed me the medication list that was to be bought at the pharmacy near the clinic. I proceeded to buy the medications first as it might be difficult to get them after the surgery. In the medication list, there were also items such as diapers and changing pads.

I went back to the clinic and changed into the robe. Photos were taken and I went to another room where a male seamstress will be taking measurements for my compression garments. I made 2 because of the consideration that I might be sweating a lot in Singapore. However, Myrene told me that I will need another smaller size garment and the seamstress will be measuring me again on next Wednesday (02/10/19).

I went to the consultation room to see Dr Jeon. He proceeded to make markings on my tummy as well as back areas. He said he can also help to remove my moles on my face as well but I told him that I am alright with that.

Myrene kept asking me if I was nervous and anxious and I told her that I was okay.

Next, I proceeded to the OT room with the nurses at about 2 pm and was given anaesthesia via IV tube.

For tummy liposuction, there are a total of 3 incision sites, 1 at the belly button and 2 at the pelvis areas.

For back liposuction, there are a total of 2 incision sites, 1 at the upper back (where the bra is) and another is at the lower back near the buttock.

I was woken up by the nurse in the recovery room with the IV tube attached to some solution (?nutrients). The nurse asked me if I needed to go to the toilet or some water to drink and I declined. The nurse gave me a buzzer to press in the event if I needed any help. I was trying to gain consciousness. After regaining consciousness, the nurse came and asked me if I wanted some water and I accepted. The nurse also gave me porridge and orange juice to drink.

The nurse informed me that that is a bandage on my lower face because of the double chin liposuction. She also informed me that Dr Jeon removed the moles and skin tags on my face and neck.

I was assisted by the nurses to the toilet. The nurses informed me that I was wearing a diaper because Dr Jeon has left the lower back incision site opened. When I went to the toilet with their assistance, I could see/feel that there was pinkish liquid coming out. The nurses assured me that the liquid is the tumescent liquid that was injected for the liposuction and that I shouldn’t be scared. They mentioned that if more liquid came out, the swelling will be much reduced in time to come. During the time in the toilet, the nurses help to squeeze out more liquid before putting a gauze on it again. They also taught me how to wear the diaper. I was also wearing an abdominal binder to help my tummy keep in shape/place. I was instructed not to bathe and wash my face due to the liposuction and removal of moles on my face.

Dr Jeon came over to take a look at me and the nurse helped me to book a taxi back to the hotel.

I ate the medications that were prescribed. More liquid flowed out whenever I was sitting on the toilet bowl. I lied out the changing pad on the bed before sleeping because I was scared that I will stain the bed.

I was able to walk normally but at a slower speed for fear of the diaper dropping.

It is advisable to wear a flowy dress or baggy pants because of the diaper. I prepared 2 flowy dresses for the surgery because I thought that it might be uncomfortable to wear pants after the operation.

  9. This is a detailed thread on my liposuction experience at Evita Clinic.
I had liposuction on tummy, thighs and chin.

    23/09/19 (Monday)

I made an appointment with Evita Clinic 1 month ago via whatsapp. My consultation was scheduled at 6pm. I arrived early at 430pm and met Myrene who is the coordinator. I proceeded to fill up some forms and Myrene asked me the areas that I want to do liposuction. I told her that I wanted to do abdominal and thighs and possibly arms too. We proceeded to another room to measure my weight, and body fats and some other measurements. Next, we went to the consultation room where Dr Jeon is. He looked at the results as well as examined the areas that I wanted to do liposuction. I mentioned to him that I would like to do arm liposuction as well. He looked at my arms and said it was not necessary. However, I should consider double chin liposuction instead. During the consultation, both Myrene and Dr Jeon kept asking me if I have any questions for them and I told them that I was good.

The tummy and thigh liposuction will be using Tumescent liposuction. The double chin liposuction will be Accusculp liposuction.

Hence, I confirmed with Dr Jeon that I will be doing both tummy and thigh liposuction. As for the double chin liposuction, I will think about it.

Dr Jeon said that the liposuction will spread across 2 days because tummy liposuction will take about 2 hours and thighs liposuction will take about 2.5 hours. He said that he won’t perform more than 4 hours of liposuction on a patient due to the possibility of Deep Vein Thrombosis. He also went through with me the number of incisions that were to be made. He also told me that I will be undergoing sleep anaesthesia.

After that, I left the consultation room and wore back my clothes. I proceeded to meet with Myrene who went through with me the details of the operation as well as the total number of incisions that will be made etc.

I would have to fast for 6 hours before the surgery and I would have to reach the clinic at 1pm for my compression garments measurement etc.

  10. Do read up on Breast Implant Illness. It doesn't happen to every gal who has breast implants though. Another thing to note that breast implants last for 7-10 years. After which, you have to remove them and replace with new ones.
Almost all forumners reported good reviews on their breast implants regardless the clinics that they gone to.
One forumner, @MissOrange did an explant recently and she is happy with it.

  11. Some medications e.g antibiotics interact with HIV medications. For example, streptomycin is not recommended with tenofovir.
When I had my mini liposuction in Seoul last October, the pharmacist gave a prepacked medications for me to take which I simply have no idea what those were. So, by letting the surgeon know that you are currently taking those HIV medications, the surgeon will be able to prescribe you medications that will not interact with your HIV medications.

  12. Do you mean you have a normal CD4 count?
Technically, I don't see why not. But you should inform the hospital so that they can make the necessary arrangements as well as checking on your wound healing etc.

  13. Hong Kong is still having protests now and flights arriving and departing HK have been affected. Situation is still tense as of now. I am unsure if it will be alright in Oct.
Do stay safe if you are planning to go there.

  14. Do take note that Koreans will be celebrating Chuseok on 13th Sep 2019. Their holidays will be from 12th Sep to 14th Sep. During this period, not many people will be in Seoul as most of them will go back to their hometown to celebrate and most shops will be closed. Do stock up your food for this period.

  15. I guess Yakson is good if your face is puffy/swollen and massages help to reduce it. Just like our faces swell up the next morning if we ate lotsa food that contains sodium the previous night.

Can muscles get displaced easily with the massage? I doubt so.
Can fats get displaced easily with the massage? Possibly.
Can your bone structure get smaller with massage? I doubt so unless there is CTs comparisons of before-and-after.
