  1. Thanks a lot hun! And see it thought didn't need it and was sure about it, but damn these clinics getting in my head and I know better! I was talking to one and they said they have to do double jaw otherwise the chin and the nose won't get good results, then I started to second guess myself idk!

  2. So now half of the clinics I contacted say my face is long and double jaw would be best to correct it, others say I could get by with having the chin and rhino. I'm trying to avoid double jaw but ugh now I'm thinking maybe just do it and be done with it rather than trying to avoid it by fixing everything else. I guess I'm in the grey area and this is a tough choice. Has anyone had here double jaw? Was it worth it?

I can't find any medical literature online for the criteria for double jaw (as in minimum millimeters of jaw length, amount of retrograde etc) if someone can point me to that it would help. I've posted my pic on MissOrange's thread to see if you think u can help that way too

  3. That's misleading because a board certified plastic surgeon can choose not to put their name in the clinic. A clinic can hire non BS surgeons to work under them even if their name is in the clinic name. I would not go to Dr. Hong.

BTW, the best way to confirm a surgeons status with the board in the US is go the the national license registry website and look them up. There's all kinda of other information there, like if they have ever has a citation or suspension and what it was for... Example:illegally prescribing opiods, malpractice, etc

I can't find such a website for look up in Korea. If someone has a link please share!

  4. The fact is the website for the clinic needs to clearly state all of the doctors and thier training + certifications. Where they went to school and if they taught at a medical college, affiliations, also big plus if there share that.

That being said, I have seen some "cosmetic surgeons" who were excellent and some board certified plastic surgeons who were terrible. But a cosmetic surgeon is only ever gonna be legally allowed to do non-invasive things even in the US so they definitely need to make the doctor's credentials clear. They need to have at least some board certification in a related area. (for example, it would be understandable for an OB to do a mini tummy tuck because they do c-sections and sometimes do the tuck anyway, dermatologists almost universally do fillers and prp now because they specialize in skin.)

And the anesthetiologists board certification must be present, this is extremely important! They should be the only one touching your anesthesia and they should be there the whole time

So it's a multidimensional thing right. Whatever you do make sure your doctor gives you a good impression of his/her character. It doesn't matter if they are considered the top shelf for what you want to do, if they don't treat you like you are valuable (but not in a fake way) or act pompous and like they don't care... run, run very far away.

  5. This is terrible! There is no excuse for this because it is not difficult to shave a jaw at customized lengths. I wonder if he took too much off one side or screwed up and then tried to cover it by removing the entire angle.
Yeah I had a consult with then on whatsapp and they said jaw reduction which my jaw already has a completely obtuse angle. Yes I agree with your standards about Caucasians jaw. However getting this specific lower face design is difficult. Sometimes people just look better with a chin implant instead of removing the Jaw around the chin

  6. That's a good point. Around day 5 I may want to change my environment anyway, and my boyfriend can tour some hotels because he is very picky and I am sure he will find something wrong with whatever we pick beforehand lol!!!!

  7. I am a white girl having my chin done but I am having them leave my jaw alone as it already had an obtuse mandible angle which i hate. I am concerned about chin reduction and vline because sometimes these are used interchangeably and sometimes not. I guess vline is with the jaw angle and chin reduction is not. And vline comes with neck tightening or something?

Find a clinic that has bnas similar to what you want. And check when they mark you up for whatever you do! Do not forget this step

There's not many BNAs of white girls having face work done in Korea. If anyone has some please share, I'm having the same problem.

Also, funny enough, I have met pixee fox in person. Like you said she is not what you should expect as she has had cheek implants taken in n out several times. Her bone structure unfortunately is a train wreck to begin with, I saw her pre DJ surgery and she had these insanely big cheek implants and was having trouble trying to find a doc to give her a revision. She is a sweet girl, however. She's not like her internet persona at all when I met her.

Anyway I am going in march/april and I am going with opera but I'll share my BNA

  8. The young set of eyes are gorgeous but it's possible that they can poorly age. Her new eyes also look really good in the photo, they may look buggy in real life. You never know so be careful with consults!

And I don't know why people think it's their buisness that she changed her eyes lol

  9. I'd like to say I am a white girl and I am getting double eyelid incision with ptosis correction in March. The goal will be just to remove the sagging eyelid and correct the 2mm ptosis. Yes I am a little nervous since I am white and I don't see white patients get the surgery in Korea, but after reviewing the operation videos and procedures it is not that much different. In fact, the Asian technique is well known in the US for being delicate and that's the impression I got from the videos watching several cases. My personal concerns are with safety and comfort of course as well as not looking bug eyed but since the crease is normal on the other eye I think it might be easier than establishing a new crease on both.

I would steer away from saying "Bambi eyes" or "doll eyes" to the surgeon. This can make them think you would like the dramatic eyes that chinese high fashion girls get which can look strange in person. Instead, say something like you want a few mm of ptosis corrected and a natural Caucasian crease. I'll post B n A pics of my surgeries here next year. Here is a pic of my eyes btw

  10. Yes the person who did it was very young, but I thought if I went to Northwestern they would be experts, as it's one of the best hospitals in the country. Well I learned that lesson! But also my skin is almost translucently pale. Don't get me wrong when the lumps went away I loved how it looked but had to conceal the purple vein with makeup. I've had fillers several times since then just not in my under eye

  11. Temples are awesome place for fillers as well as midface. If your cheekbones are wide you might avoid the lateral prominence of your cheeks but fill around it. I have had hyaluronic acid fillers in these areas a few times they looked great so I wanna try a fat graft next

  12. I have witnessed first hand in the US deaths from routine procedures. One such case occurred at my clinical last year. The patient went to EGD and died in the middle of the procedure. Apparently, the patient had a significant condition in his heath history and this was overlooked by the doctor.

Things like this happen occasionally, but that is still too often. A big issue is nurse to patient ratios. They are far to many patients per nurse to have each patient get the best care. Another issue is ghost doctors. It is a common practice that a resident will do much of the procedure with oversight, however I have seen the attending surgeon leave the resident for significant periods to do non emergent or personal things (see patients so he can leave earlier, talk on the phone with wife, grab some lunch, etc) If there are multiple surgeons overseeing the resident in a long procedure and they switch out to have breaks that's fine but the resident should not be left unattended.

I cannot stress the importance of safety when choosing your clinic. Facial surgeries and general anesthesia can compromise the airway and blood loss can lead to shock. Ghost doctors can cause serious errors. You need to have all the emergency equipment and drugs in the OR with you, and anesthetiologist with you at all times

  13. They should not have treated you with disrespect. I am sorry. I do understand their perspective as I worked in plastic surgery but we never disrespected the customer's requests. There are plenty of times the patient would not accept our decision, however we made an effort to explain why. And usually the reason was because it would negatively impact the patient’s results or health therefore we could not agree to some requests. However the patient needs to understand the situation fully and have their concerns heard.

However. Your incision looks excellent. I understand the concern with the right eye, and I agree with asymmetry you mentioned. You would have to wait until the swelling was healed to have an accurate assessment of the area. I'm not sure what your preop eye was like but I do know that revision des is difficult. It doesn't look like excess fat it there. Possibly excess skin but the skin tightness would be affected by swelling so again you have to assess when the swelling subsides. Since the incision looks good and even with the eyes closed it makes me learn toward a swelling issue only.

  14. So I think I'm pulling the trigger on getting my surgery. I am planning my korea trip now for late march/early april. I am gonna request 2 weeks off works and if they let me have more I'll take it.

My top choice hotel is right next to my top choice clinic and the train station. So travel will be quick around gangnam.

I want to enjoy Korea with my boyfriend while I am there. I'm not sure when I can plan to go out and start to sightsee. And when I can expect to go off liquids. I don't care about what I look like I just want to go out when it's safe and bearable. What was your experience with activity during recovery?

(I apologize if this is a duplicate thread)

I am having chin, eyes, rhino, and fat graft.

  15. I should add that I did have under eye filler with a hyaluronic acid based filler (juvaderm I think)? The problems with that is 1.it has to be delicate to avoid lumps as these are thick and the skin is thin 2. These type of fillers are translucent. If you have pale skin, then it can cause light to reflect under the eye and show the veins!

These two things happened to me. However the filler dissolves in a few months so that's good. I had no dark circles pior but after the filler I have a big purple dark circle it was a little upsetting. The filler cost an insane amount of money compared to Korea (and I live in Chicago). I hope when I get the fat grafts I can finally have a naturally healthy look

  16. I am also look for boarding too. I am going with my boyfriend and so I want a lot of privacy. I was looking for a traditional experience but didn't see a hotel with such, and I want privacy so no guesthouse for me.

So far I have hotel Senne at the top of my list. They are 10 minutes from my top clinic choice and the rooms look comfy. And so cheap! Anyone have experience or recomendation?
