I was botched in Korea and I had revision in the US

Recommended Posts

That doesn’t explain why most of Japanese go to Korea for surgeries tho.. maybe Chinese system is also millions years more advanced than In korea but bizarrely most of them still go to Korea.
If most people get botched like you said, why they still go to Korea so ?.
Asian people are not that stupid as you can say.. they would not continue to go to Korea if all people get botched.
Korea has an aesthetic sense, most other USA and Europe are into medical things.
Don’t tell me european surgeon are better, I consulted a lot and they are ****y about esthetic things. Maybe a lot of studies or idk but they don’t see beauty like korean could do.
But as I said before.. I’m done because I know this convo will never ends.
Glad you are ok with your face now, but don’t try to generalize or change people mind about korea. Usa and Europe also have botched cases, I know a girl who got a face totally damaged by simple wisdom teeth removal in EUROPE. And now she can’t work talk or live correctly.
The only difference is that in Europe and USA esthetic surgery is not as important and famous as in Korea so botched case are not as present in medias and newspapers. I have never heard of botched case in Europe besides famous people, because people just don’t talk about it since surgery is a secret In those countries.. we are not as open as Korea talking about it.
I hope nobody will get botched of course, but surgery is a gamble in all countries.
Sorry for my noob English. I’m not fluent.
Have fun on this thread peeps !

You do not understand. You simply do not understand. You refuse to pay attention. I never said that in Europe and in the US every surgeon is a GOd or perfect. For Christ's sake, there are horrible surgeons everywhere, in the US and in Europe, however, while in Europe and USA you can find very bad surgeons and very good surgeons, in Korea, most of the surgeons are very mediocre.

People are naive and are blinded by the stupid fake before and after pictures. I have read academic papers, I have done my research, I am not pulling stuff out of my ass. I know what the **** I am talking about. I would go to Europe, Canada, US even Brazil for surgery, but NEVER to Korea, not anymore. Been there, done that. I am much much much wiser now. Again, I have done my research, you haven't. Their techniques (in Korea) suck. They do not use the proper techniques of other countries. They only care about money and quantity as opposed to quality. Enough said, you will not change my mind, since I have been there, and many other people too.

You seem very aggressive in the way you are answering.
It’s just a forum chill. We are here to share advices, opinions.

The only one aggressive in this forum at this very moment is you Zaza.
This is Denyagan's thread so why are you hijacking it with your arguing?
If you have issues take it to DM. Even better, just stop it already. No one wants to be bothered with this, headache. Especially when people here have just had surgery not so long ago.
Really, you've taken what Denyagan has said out of context. There was no need to take it to heart. I don't understand how people can get so offended over someone's opinion which is based on their personal experience and findings.
So what if Denyagan prefers US surgeons and finds them to be more skilled, what does it matter, what's it to you? :oh:

because you are diverting the attention from the real problem. I came here to help people, to give people hope and to make people aware so that nobody makes the same mistake I made. DO you understand that or not? I could have just minded my own business, I didn't have to share my experience. I came here and shared my experience and spent hours answering to many private messages to help people and this is what I get in return, saying tha I am racist. How could I possibly be racist? How? That is very stupid. I did my research and spoke to dozens of people botched in Korea, I know what I am talking about.

I personally prefer surgery in the US and definitely recommend people in the US to get it in the US. The risks in Korea is just too high. When it comes to plastic surgery, the result of your success should outweigh money itself. You have one life, value it, and treasure it. Anything that can be done in Korea can be done in the US.

I had jaw shaving and chin shaving surgery done in Beverly Hills and wrote a review about it.

It can be done MUCH MUCH better in the US, because US has some good surgeons and some bad surgeons. Korea doesn't have excellent surgeons, simply because they do not have the same high level of expertise. Plain and simple. I have evaluated hundreds of cases. They are just not good. They are overconfident, lie with their stupid pictures, but, they simply do not have the same sets of skills of the best American doctors. Congratulations on your surgery in Beverly Hills. I wish you the best and I am happy you didn't go to Korea.

I am happy for you @Denyagan for fixing your botched surgery. And it is only your personal opinion against surgery in Korea which is understandable based on your personal experience and outcome. @NadineP and @krod2017 too had botched experiences in Korea at April31 and TLPS respectively so may also share your opinion of Korea.

However when I asked my top Harley Street UK plastic surgeon about chin reduction surgery and rhino in 2016, he immediately suggested Korea as I am Asian. So in his opinion, Korea can be superior to the UK. I chose the UK surgeon to do the ops as I had no idea about Korea back in Feb 2016 until later.

A friend of mine shared he paid £7k for face fg in the UK only to learn the surgeon had flown to Korea to watch and learn how to do fat transfer. The friend had to get it redone properly with Dr Hong at Fresh in Korea and is now happy.

I had great surgeons in the uk and korea and noticed Korean surgeons suture like embroidery, very fine vs I know some uk surgeons rely on stapling to save on time and effort.

As I have never had surgery in the States I can't comment but would say that it is important to do your research thoroughly to pick a good surgeon regardless of country. During my years of surgical training in both the States and NHS, I have seen both good and bad surgeons in both countries so would not say one country is superior to another. We don't hear as much of botched surgeries in the States or NHS due to a culture of cover ups and secrecy. One US surgeon left a lady quadraplegic and another was still doing circumcisions with disabling Parkinson's tremors! One UK surgeon just pulled the sheets back over a lady with postop abdominal gangrene. As a wise woman once told me, doctors are not gods but humans and there are good people and bad people in every country.

I had to jump in. I was botched in USA and I'm not asian. I found plastic surgeons from any country, lie a lot for money and in US after photos are all taken with makeup, bright lights, filters, smiling, before photos are upset, dirty, dark, looking down, no makeup and right before surgey when you look your worst. I was scammed by Mark Richards and disfigured and nothing helped me to sue the guy, lawyers told me it's a dirty business and I would only lose more by pursuing it. It's not about US or Korea or EU or India, it's about luck and ethics. My life is ruined and found others who were disfigured by him but I was told by board of cosmetic surgery in US that they don't take responsibility of his work either. Plus any general physician can open cosmetic surgery shop in USA.
I understand your pain since I'm living it now, disfigured, lost time money, ruined relationship ... but I like everyone know that lots of ppl get botched in us and other countries so never trust easily. I remember exactly how I made my mistake, I said I pay more and stay in usa and I'm safe, doctors say don't go overseas US is best, I trust too easy and my life ruined

When you do your surgery in the US, you obviously need to do your research. You don’t just go with whatever is in your area, you need to see some before and after pictures, consultation, getting to know your surgeon and his experience in the area of surgery you want.

With that being said, if there are two doctors, Dr. Korea and Dr. US, with Dr. Korea if you get a botch job and you take legal action, best case scenario you get your money back. With Dr. US, if he botch up your face and you take legal action, there is a chance he will have to pay 10x-30x what you paid for. Who do you think out of the two doctors would be more careful? I am sure there are good doctors in every country, but statistically speaking, US has less botch jobs than Korea.

Let me give you an example that someone else also pointed out. In this forum and in Korea I have heard many times by people and media reporting failed V-line surgery. In the US the same procedure is called Facial Feminization Surgery, and you don’t really hear much trans people complaining about a botched jaw shaving in the US now do you? This is not to say that Korea will always fail, but plastic surgery is like gambling in a way and if you are gambling for safety go with higher chance of success.

After reading through this thread I just wanted to jump in.

I don’t think Korea is really completely unsafe or lack safety standards like this post has made it out to be. There is a reason that Korea is the epicentre of cosmetic surgery.

Although that being said, it’s always best to do extensive research on the clinics, the doctors, and it’s history. Always visit more than one clinic for consultation.

Granted, going to Korea is a bigger risk as its a foreign environment where you are put under an invasive circumstance.

Though as an asian person living in Europe, it’s difficult to find a clinic that deals typically or specialise in Asian faces. The ones that i could find are extremely expensive.

Therefore I would rather take the risk and go to Korea, as the doctors there deals with Asian faces and tend to be more knowledge about their structure and have more experience operating on them.

Keep in mind, with the plastic surgery boom in recent years, many people from Asian countries, I.e Japan, China... are going to Korea for plastic surgery. Therefore with the sheer amount of surgeries done there, this would increase the likelihood of botched jobs.

So there’s no right or wrong in this argument, therefore choose the best option suited to your needs.

As someone who just recently had surgery with a popular US surgeon(Dr. Deschamps-Braly) and considered Korea, I would like to chime in.

I definitely believe there’re great doctors in both South Korea and the US, but the level of consumer protection and safety is simply higher in the US.

That being said, if I was East Asian I would feel more comfortable with a South Korean surgeon. Experience is one of the most essential qualities when choosing a plastic surgeon.

The reason I chose Dr. Deschamps-Braly is because I’m a transwoman and he works day-in and day-out with trans patients. Some of the work I needed just isn’t done in South Korea as far as I know.

There’s also a large cost difference between the US and Korea. My surgery in total cost $55,000, but I’m trans, so I needed more work than a typical cisgender(non-trans) woman would.

Also, in that photo another user posted of Dr. Deschamps-Braly’s patient, that patient still has a significant amount of swelling. I’ve seen her more recent pictures, and her face looks far more settled.

Anyways I’m so happy that everything worked out in the end for Denyagan. I hope your recovery goes well, and I wish you the best.

Yup, you have not seen how she scolded and insult people in this forum. But she was quick enough to have the mods deleted it. No offense but I was very shocked.

@Denyagan

You are very brave for sharing your story. And this must have been a very emotional journey for you. It sounds like you were unfortunately duped by the fake reviews planted by the clinic in question.

It should come to know surprise that your posts will be systematically undermined by staff members and accomplices of the clinic you went to. They have made a very organized attempt to run an online deception campaign across forums and sites like realself to promote their hospital while attacking others, as well past patients who have spoken out against them.

They have recruited patients to shill and act as accomplices by having them constantly mention and advocate the clinic on the forum and by forming clinic fan groups to entice or encourage others.

Some of these patients shilling for them have been groomed and indoctrinated through flattery and inappropriate fraternization to make them feel like an insider, one-of-the-gang, and buddies with the clinic staff, so they do it out of some twisted social obligation. And or because they received financial and contractual deals to "promote and pay less."

There are people you are helping by speaking out, so don't be discouraged. But try to speak your truth with a keen sense of justice and calm, so that it will resonate.
