  2. End of July? I wouldn't worry about doing anything with your trip until you are closer to the date. Even planning ahead for tourist stuff. Unless you want to book something in advance so you don't miss out that is. A lot can change in a few months.
  3. I think you can use them to can an idea of the work the clinics have done but you shouldn't base your decision on them. I have seen a fair number of them that are obviously faked. Like they used AI or something idk.
  4. How long were they? I am curious as I had one recently and I swear it went a lot faster than I thought. I was only on a video chat for maybe 7 minutes. I figured it would be at least a 20 to 30 minute thing but I guess they are busy.
  5. Today
  6. There are some cards you can apply for that reward you for spending during travel too, so you can earn cash back. Try and find something like that, especially if you are going to end up using it to cover part of the cost of the surgery or anything more expensive.
  7. Yesterday
  8. I remember seeing something (I think it may have been on reddit?) about how you can hire a local to help guide you through the process. They will actually go to clinics on your behalf, film the area, talk to the doctors, etc. which can be helpful. I am not sure what they are called or how to find them though!
  9. It has been an annoying process for me too. You are not alone. I feel like I am being pulled in different directions. A lot of useful information online about this will give you the basics but they leave so much information out. It is exhausting. I am happy I found this forum. Hoping to get some help myself.
  10. I thought I had found the clinic I was going to go to. I was ready to contact them until I went down a rabbit hole. It turns out a lot of reviews online are fabricated. Also, the negative reviews are often deleted due to Korea’s strict defamation laws which protects clinics. So now I am not sure. Should I even bother considering reviews as a factor when picking a clinic?
  11. Really you just have to wait. You can double check things like medical history, medications, etc. with the clinic and the laws to make sure everything is good there. Some people like to plan out every day of their trip so you could do that, find places to see and restaurants to eat at.
  12. I stayed here! Not for when I was getting surgery or anything but when I was in Korea with some friends. We stayed at the hotel for 6 days. The rooms are quite small but everything is made up for when you realize you essentially have a mini apartment. We enjoyed our stay there and everyone was insanely friendly.
  13. Last week
  14. Sorry! I thought I had replied to this. I must have typed it out and not hit send and only realized it. Thanks for the information. I wanted to update and say I have had two virtual consultations and both were great. I just have to decide on the clinic.
  15. Anything with rose water is said to be really beneficial. I know a lot of Korean beauty products have that as an ingredient but just straight rose water would probably be good. You can look into the benefits, they are tons!
  16. Every one is a bit different but most people return to working no issue by 6 weeks and I would say even still, only a small percentage need a full 6 weeks. If you can get extra time off work, you may as well though even if you don't need it. I know I would
  17. Do those things actually work though? Like botox injections for hair regrowth or the red light therapy stuff. I would much rather do something cheaper if it is an option. I just read into the stem cell stuff being the most effective next to transplants.
  18. I had work on my belly after my second child was born. I had gained a lot of weight with her and had loose skin. I don't think it was called a tummy tuck but I essentially had one. My recovery took about 5 weeks in total but I didn't feel "good" until maybe week 8 which my doctor said was normal.
  19. I will start looking into this over the weekend and contact some doctors during next week, thank you for the suggestion. I just hope they don't shove me around as I don't intend on getting work done locally.
  20. I remember reading it is recommended to take 6 weeks off work if your job requires labor. So depending on how long you are in Korea, you should probably plan for an extra week or two once back home to rest
  21. Aside from maybe botox injections and red light therapy, everything with hair regrowth is super expensive. I would think it would be cheaper considering how common it is. Especially for men. I do know a fair amount of females that experience thinning though, especially before the age of 40 these days.
  22. I think this is most countries. I just assume that even CBD oil is not okay even though it isn't always a drug form. I have gotten in trouble for having beauty products with hemp in them! So it is worth stating that.
  23. I am hoping someone here has had one done. I am not sure how long I should take off from work in total. I have a general idea of how long I will need to be in Korea but in terms of healing and recovery, I don't know how long I should avoid working. My job does have some labor aspects to it which is concerning me. I could do some work from home but I want to make sure I can get enough time to recover before working again to risk injury or messing up my surgery.
  24. I didn't even think of restrictions for prescription drugs in Korea! Thank you for posting this thread asking about it. I am going to have to look into this more and probably contact them as I do take anxiety medication as needed.
  25. I didn't think of getting a credit card in case it is needed, that is a good idea. I will look into it. I'll have to do some math and get a general idea of costs by contacting different clinics. Thanks everyone!
  26. Thank you everyone! I appreciate the information. I am going to have to decide on some clinics and start contacting them. I was not sure how to approach this but everything shared in this thread makes sense. Do the doctors commonly speak with people or do they have staff that does this?
  27. Everyone I have talked to about aftercare says the most important thing is keeping skin clean, proper hydration, and diet. The topical stuff can only do so much. You want to make sure you drink enough water and are eating foods that encourage healing and skin repair.
  28. I will be sharing this with a co-worker. She had been asking about specific surgeries and options for volume loss. I think a lot of her aging has to do with spending too much time in tanning beds but I am not going to be the one to tell her that
  29. I know someone personally (in my family) that was taking medication for a health problem. Had no idea it was a blood thinner and failed to tell the dentist. She ended up in the ER because blood thinners can cause excessive bleeding! Talk about scary.
