  1. Sorry! I thought I had replied to this. I must have typed it out and not hit send and only realized it. Thanks for the information. I wanted to update and say I have had two virtual consultations and both were great. I just have to decide on the clinic.
  2. Anything with rose water is said to be really beneficial. I know a lot of Korean beauty products have that as an ingredient but just straight rose water would probably be good. You can look into the benefits, they are tons!
  3. Every one is a bit different but most people return to working no issue by 6 weeks and I would say even still, only a small percentage need a full 6 weeks. If you can get extra time off work, you may as well though even if you don't need it. I know I would
  4. Basic scalp stem treatments are $500 to $2,500 depending on the clinic. For more advanced treatment, you are looking at up to $6,000 per session but the average tends to be around $3,200. Again, it depends on the clinic. I am not sure how you would go about booking something like this. I think you need to get the treatment done every 3 months so you would have to plan 3 trips for the year.
  5. If you want an apartment style hotel, COEX Hub Stay is a good option. I believe it was $55 a night when I last checked. It may have gone up since then. You get extra room/space and a small functional kitchen and dining space.
  6. It is only worth it if you value the quality and service over the cost. The cost is cheaper but as mentioned, you have to factor in flights, hotel stays, etc. which add to it. I personally would only get it done if I had already planned on being in Korea for a trip or other surgery.
  7. Yup! Some places have multiple doctors that specialize in certain areas. You will find this outside of Korea as well. It makes sense when a clinic offers various surgeries and beauty treatments. A doctor that does hair transplants, for example, is very unlikely to know how to do a tummy tuck!
  8. As long as possible. You want to have at least 5 days just for recovery. That is like the minimum. I always tell people to aim for 10. So 10 days for recovery, 7 to 10 days for clinic scheduling and surgery, and then the odd few days to allow for tourism. I think 3 to 4 works is ideal.
  9. It isn't normal but it isn't not normal. Every clinic is different. Some will have one doctor that does everything, others will have specialized doctors that do only certain surgeries. It is not unheard of so nothing to worry about!
  10. Not all clinics will require to see medical files but they will require your medical history and you will be given a form to fill out. It is best to ask ahead of time - contact whatever clinic you are planning to go to and see what information they need/require before leaving for your trip.
  11. It really depends on the extent of the surgery. When it comes to returning to work and light activities, it is only a week or two. That being said, a full recovery does take time. For smaller, less-invasive surgeries the average is 6 weeks to 2 months. For moderate work - 3 to 6 months. For more extensive work - 6 to 12 months. The doctor you work with will be able to give you the most realistic recovery timeline.
  12. It seems like a lot of the risk comes down to the patient's genetics and the doctor that is working on them. The cons seem to be very minimal with the right doctor. Septal cartilage seems to be the "safest" overall but it can't be used with all surgeries. Ones that require more work, it would not be enough. In terms of synthetics, I would avoid gore-tex and PCL mesh (especially PCL, it is not considered safe at all for nose jobs!).
  13. It sounds like you want Facial Asymmetry Correction (FAC). They use 3D-CT diagnostics to analyze the face along with precision osteotomy techniques. This gives you the best outcome of a natural appearance and enhanced stability for long-term results. I only know about this as I was looking into it myself. Made Young Plastic Surgery is known for it online but I am not sure which other clinics offer it.
  14. I am looking to get some work done but I am still in the early stages. I am wondering if there are clinics that offers virtual consultations prior to making the trip to Korea to get an idea of what I can do to improve my facial structure. I was looking into mini facelifts as someone I know from another forum had her face done and it looks amazing! Is there any way to find this information? Is it something that is offered as a standard for international patients?
