    This. I have looked into this clinic for other things and they do amazing work. I would absolutely start here. See if you like the doctor, talk to some people, ask for more information, etc.

    Usually you go home the same day although some people might be asked to stay overnight. I don't think you have to worry about an extended stay. Just make sure you go early enough to allow for meeting with doctors and then time to rest before hopping back on a plane so you aren't miserable.

    Yeah this sounds right. I only know because a friend of mine had it done. She didn't go to Korea however. She is planning another surgery and this time she will be going to Korea so I am hoping to schedule my surgery at the same time so we can travel together.

    I know this is an old thread but I am wondering which one you ended up going with. I was actually looking into the same three options but not for a full facelift, just getting my eyes fixed. I have some pretty bad bags!

    Geurim Plastic Surgery in Gangnam tends to be at the top of the list for a lot of people. I have not had this work done but I do know someone who has gone to this clinic and had great results. You can look up reviews and before/after pictures. It is much cheaper in Korea as well.

    It depends on what you are after. Lipo or Brachioplasty. Lipo is easier and invasive. Recovery time is faster too. Brachioplasty surgeries take more time, are more costly, and the recovery time can be awhile. You can also look into CoolSculpting or Thermage if you want a non-surgical option.

    This was the first clinic I went to. The only reason I went to a different clinic for a separate surgery was because what I wanted was not offered here. Dr. Park is very good and very inviting, especially for clients who are non-Korean. I took a short trip to meet up with some doctors before planning to go back for surgery and of the ones I met with, I knew he was the right choice for me right away.

    I have gone twice now for two different surgeries and I am planning a third. What I can tell you from experience is pay close attention to the doctor. Make sure they spend enough time with you. If they seem rushed or try to pressure you, decline and go to someone else. You want to make sure you work with a surgeon that is patient and will allow you time for your concerns.

    I am going to be going to get a face lift at a plastic surgery clinic in Korea. I have already been in touch with 3 clinics, just trying to decide which to go with. As I am planning, I have to figure out my hotel stay and how long before and after my surgery I should be in Korea. I don't intend on doing much outside of my surgery. Maybe trying some food and doing some light shopping. I know I am going to need to rest. What do you think I should plan for for a face lift?

    It really depends on the extent of the surgery. When it comes to returning to work and light activities, it is only a week or two. That being said, a full recovery does take time. For smaller, less-invasive surgeries the average is 6 weeks to 2 months. For moderate work - 3 to 6 months. For more extensive work - 6 to 12 months. The doctor you work with will be able to give you the most realistic recovery timeline.

    I would imagine this falls under liposuction and body contouring. As I have gotten older, I have had my weight go up and down. I lost a fair amount of weight but now I have loose fat and skin that hangs from my arms. I would like to get it fixed. Has anyone had this done? Can someone tell me the costs and downtime for such a surgery done through a Korean clinic?

I looking into the costs locally and I wouldn't be able to get as much work done so I started looking outside my home country. Many people recommend Korea for cost and quality. What are my options? Which are the best clinics for something like this?

    I want to get an idea of what I am in for. I have my surgery booked for the end of April. I plan on staying in Korea for 2 weeks. I am going to do a follow up with a local clinic to make sure everything is healing properly as well. I don't know if this is standard but it was recommended by the doctor I have been working with in Korea. I was told the actual full recovery can be anywhere from 2 to 12 months but the bulk of the healing process happens in the first few weeks. It depends on how much work is being done. Does this sound right to you?

    I have not but I have heard amazing things. They have been in business for 25 years and there is a lot of information out there about them and the doctor. You can see pictures from patients and those include many caucasian women.

    I always check for reviews with anything, especially things like this. Check on Google. Do a background check into the clinic. Make sure the doctor(s) on staff are board certified. If they seem hesitant to answer questions, avoid them!

    I have gone to VIP International Plastic Surgery Center two years ago for nose correction and I had a fantastic experience. They provided both online and in person consultation. I planned ahead and made sure to meet the doctor before anything took place. For places that offer international care, they will or at least should have virtual consultations.

    I am narrowing down my options and of the clinics I have looked at and the doctors I have viewed information on, Young Kyu Pak sounds like a very experienced doctor. It seems to be a clinic that is used to working on non-Korean women as well which was a concern I had. Has anyone been to this location in recent years to have work done?

    I agree with this. Certain materials can't be used in the face, especially for nose work. All modern and registered doctors would avoid using both of these materials because of the safety risks.

    There are a number of things you can do. You want to meet face to face with your surgeon if/when possible to confirm their credentials, name, etc. You can made sure they are board certified by the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. You may also be able to check this in the US (if you are in America) via the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Another common one is to request footage of your surgery. Beginning in 2021, Korea has a law that mandates any operation under anesthesia has to be recorded via cameras in the rooms and patients can request the footage and it must be provided. Red flags include extremely low costs for surgeries, allowing or outright skipping in-person consultations, and receiving uninformative, vague, or questionable answers when you raise concerns about your surgery.

    All the top clinics that deal with international patients offer virtual consultations via WhatsApp, Zoom, or dedicated platforms to help patients plan. Some clinics offer more thorough consultations than others, but most of them are free. You just have to schedule ahead of time. If you find a clinic you like, it should be listed on their website.

    I am paranoid about ending up with a ghost doctor. I have read horror stories online and while I know it is more rare now as Korea is cracking down on a lot of these fake docs, I am still concerned. Are there signs to look out for, like red flags and such to let me know a doctor is not legit? I read that it was estimated around 100,000 people were victims of ghost surgery between 2008 and 2014 alone. I have for sure already decided to get my work done in Korea, I just want to narrow down my options and make sure I don't have any regrets.

    It seems like a lot of the risk comes down to the patient's genetics and the doctor that is working on them. The cons seem to be very minimal with the right doctor. Septal cartilage seems to be the "safest" overall but it can't be used with all surgeries. Ones that require more work, it would not be enough. In terms of synthetics, I would avoid gore-tex and PCL mesh (especially PCL, it is not considered safe at all for nose jobs!).
