I was disappointed to get the quote I did from Everm and that is when I realized they are really ripping people off. What they quote is roughly the American equivalent of two jaw. If I am going to pay that much, I may as well do it here in the United States.
And I agree: If the prices were fixed, they would not be open to negotiation.
I will be flying out for surgery very soon. I am so nervous. I also want to say that I am now engaged and looking forward to being a beautiful bride. I am looking for a dramatic change; not subtle. I have carried many insecurities over the years about my strong and masculine appearance. My face is a bit elongated especially in the middle, my chin recessed, and my jawline is wide a bit like Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Here is what I am hoping to do in Seoul:
-vline
-t-chin or genioplasty
-two-jaw
-fat grafting
-acculift
I realize what I am planning to do will be a harsh recovery, but I will not be alone for my fiance will accompany me. He has been 100% supportive of my decision. Part of the reason why I am marrying him I bought a pack of facial masks for us to wear, firstly because of MERS and secondly so that I can disguise my surgeries too.
I have consultations set up with Everm, Face Dental, Girin, View, Unique and Top Class. I am being tight-lipped about many details because i am unsure of who is on this forum. I have heard about promoters trying to get a fee from the doctor which in turn makes your surgery fees high. I work hard for my salary and not keen on being hustled lol.
This forum has been extremely helpful in finding clinics to consult with as well as being able to read the accounts of others. Thanks to the awesome forumers that take the time to share their experience and knowledge. One I have my surgery and give my review, I probably will not post much here afterwards. I hope to give you all an update soon.
I bought big box of facial masks. Atleast this way I can disguise my face after surgery. I am a bit afraid of MERS. I just hope it gets better by late next month.
I personally would recommend fat grafting to cheeks to make them looks higher. I do not recommend buccal fat pad removal because as we age we naturally lose fat in our faces. I think it has the tendency to make people look gaunt.
For a small face it depends upon your current bone structure. If you have an elongated chin on jaw, vline and/or a t-chin procedure may help, If you have an elongated mid-face perhaps two jaw. I am not an expert so I urge you to consult with a doctor about which procedure(s) fit your situation best.
I want to thank you for this vaulable and thorough review! I knew that two-jaw was an intense surgery, but now I see how intense. not to be taken lightly.
I can agree and say that cheek implants are not always a great idea. I had them done in the United States and one ended up becoming infected! It needed to be removed and now one cheek is flat.
I do not believe you need translators for any of them. DAPRS, Everm and banobagi all have in-house translators. face Dental does not have any but the doctors there seem to speak English well enough. But, it may be wise to be able to have someone there to be able to convey the deeper terms so nothing is misunderstood.
Not sure about July being high season, that is when I am going. I am going at the end of July. As far as I know, two jaw and vline can be done at the same time. There will be quite a bit of swelling though. And I have never done a Seoul Touch Up package and I am sure it would be rather expensive if you did.
It is very difficult, even in the United State to sue a clinic for unfavorable plastic surgery. When you go abroad, you are taking a greater risk, and you need to be aware and accept those risks. If you are not willing to, perhaps do not go abroad for surgery. A good clinic will try their best to remedy any issues that arise, and the clinics out for money will not care if you are dissatisfied. So try your best to choose as wisely as possible.
I am in contact with Face Dental Clinic and the doctors there speak English well enough to have a reasonable conversation. This is by far the most helpful clinic I have spoken to. And I totally agree that the clinics most known to foreigners are ripping them off. I was quotes 20 million krw for two jaw, and that price tag is totally outrageous.
