I am also doing Air bnb, and I have not mentioned that I will be having surgery. But they will know it once I come back looking bandaged up. I will keep quiet about the clinic though.
From what I can see I am thinking v-line should be suitable. If you have an elongated face with protrusion then two jaw may be a better choice. Once you get to your consultation I think the Dr. will be able to help you more.
Any doctor would warn you that a rhinoplasty and upper lip lift is a poor combination due to the lack of blood supply to that area would cause for poor healing.
ID clinic is not necessarily popular in this forum. I would do some searching around on this forum and reading. Check out the thread that lists negative clinic experiences. It's filled with alot of useful information.
Some things were simply not adding up, especially with the price,so I decided to do some digging and was pretty shocked by what I found. Thanks again otherwise I would have paid a fortune for a bunch of stuff I probably did not even need. At least now I am armed with a bit more knowledge than before.
Like I said, I am not trying to say these clinics are not good (some of them has amazing results), but one has to question why the larger ones are suggesting I get two jaw and ASO, while the others are suggesting alternatives because they did not feel I was a candidate for those particular procedures. And I am not promoting any clinics, simply sharing my experiences.
From what I understand, two jaw and contouring can be done at the same time, but you are correct, it is not a surgery to take lightly. All surgeries regardless of when they are done have risks.
Over the past few months I have been looking into different clinics to get quotes and suggestions on procedures that I would need in order to achieve the look I desire. I am mainly interested in facial contouring. I have so far emailed some of the foreign well-known clinics as well as the clinics the local people frequent. Here is what I am finding and I am a bit surprised:
Everm: The consultant Gahee said Dr. Yoon suggested I get two-jaw and ASO (18 million KRW) and ASO is another charge.
Regen: Right off the bat the consultant said I needed Two-Jaw (20 million KRW)
View: Two Jaw (20 million KRW) Braces (6.5 million KRW)
DAPRS: Consultant immediately suggested Two Jaw (18 million KRW)
Unique: I emailed Dr. Lee Sae Bin and he felt that two jaw was not the best procedure since I will not be able to come for regular followups, and said that my mouth protrusion was not severe enough to warrant ASO. He mentioned that these are major surgeries and did not downplay the risk. The procedures that were suggested to me were far lower in price than the larger clinics. He suggested zygoma reduction, mandible reduction, ptosis incision surgery, fat graft, liposuction under my chin and narrowing sliding genioplasty.
iwell: The consultant or perhaps the doctor that responded to my email also did not feel that ASO and two jaw were necessary procedures in my case and asked if I can send X-rays if possible so that they can make further suggestions. The procedures that were suggested to me were similar as what Unique suggested.
GIRIN: I was given a price list but no procedures were suggested to me. The consultant recommended I speak to the doctor about specific procedures that will be suitable for me. But something tells me that Girin would also not suggest two jaw or ASO. Girin is moderate in price, but still lower than the clinics posted at top of the page.
Opera: Waiting for a response. But Opera does not perform two jaw.
So in short, I realize that may of the times that I am speaking to a consultant with no medical background. But these quotes prove that consultants are mainly there to sell as many high priced procedures as possible without any regard to whether you actually even need them. The larger, well-known-among foreigner clinic quoted me all for two jaw while the smaller ones suggested alternatives due to concern for my health and well-being. And take note of those price tags, 20,000,000 KRW? Do you realize that is what double jaw surgery would cost in the United States?
I know that once you arrive at the clinic that you bargain and negotiate, but even at 50% less of 20 million krw that equals roughly $9,057 USD and I find that to still be rather pricey given that we traveled all the way to Korea.
So in short, I urge you to do your homework and make informed decisions. I feel like some of the larger clinics are in it to make as much money as possible. That does not mean that the larger clinics are not good, I just noticed the trend with the prices and the suggestions being completely different from the smaller local clinics.
My short list previously was View, Everm and Girin. Now it is Girin,Opera, Unique and iwell. I removed View and Everm due to the outrageous quotes because I do not appreciate feeling like a clinic is trying to rip me off simply because I am a foreigner. No thanks on that one lol.
