Sodium, the before and after photos you posted were absolutely amazing. What procedures did she have done? I love the end result.
OP, without seeing your photos, I do not know what suggestions I could really offer. I will second what Sodium has said is that there are many clinics that are in it for the money. I received quotes for things other clinics said I did not need.
I think $15,000 is sufficient depending on what clinic you go to. If you go to a clinic that targets foreigners, you may not be able to get all the things done you are hoping for.
The View gave me a tentative quote and I find it really expensive. Two jaw is 20,000,000 KRW. So I am hoping when I get there we can haggle a more reasonable price, because that two jaw price is what they charge in the United States.
Unfortunately I do not know about this doctor, but I too had a rhinoplastyu revision. I had mine corrected by Dr. Juan Fuentes in Tijuana Mexico. He did a good job and I am pleased. He is with Cosmed Clinic and speaks fluent English.
I do feel that people should know the risks involved with any type of surgery and jaw surgery is a major procedure. Two jaw surgery is something that is only done in the United States if medically necessary; I have never seen it done for cosmetic purposes here. I have consulted with several Korean clinics and they all feel from my photos I need two-jaw and believe me I was blown away. A US doctor will tell me to live with it and accept myself because no one here would be willing to do that major surgery without justification. So in my opinion, yes, some Korean clinics have gone overboard in offering these intense surgeries, but at the same time, if they did not, some of us may have to live with looking at features we aboslutely hate, without there being any hope of changing it.
About the bone contouring past age 30: I am 32 and 2 years ago I had a jaw shave that was unsuccessful. The shape of my jaw did not change; it still strong and wide. I did not have any negative side effects whatsoever. I have to say that I am black and korean and my skin is still firm and may age differently from someone full asian or full black at this age. I do not smoke, drink, I exercise and I am not in the sun. My skin adhered back to the bone immediately, but that doesn't mean yours will or will not.
There are so many factors involved with whom will have sagging after surgeries like this that is why it is important to consider all the risks with the doctor.
I feel you are smart in doing your research to determine for yourself if the possibility of having a sagging face is worth it and/or nerve damage, disfigurement, or other negative results. Because at the end of the day it is yourself that has to live with the decision.
No, my face does kinda look like that. Atleast to me. That is why I decided to take the plunge and go to Korea to do something about it. I feel the features on my face are nice and interesting, but my facial shape and jaw/chin are making my best features harder to appreciate. It really is amazing how facial shape and structure can make someone pretty or not pretty.
I have a square jaw and it looks long. I am willing to take the risk of having saggy skin and hopefull will get some sort of lifting procedure down the road. It is a trade off to me.
I had eye surgery with Kenneth Kim in LA. I wasn't really that impressed with the initial surgery and wasn't impressed with his revision either. I am going to Korea to redo it once and for all. The stitches became loose and now I am back at square one. The office is beautiful though.
I am interested in finding the clinics that mainly cater mainly to locals instead of international clientele. The clinics that rely heavily on international business are not always the best.
Hello! I actually did not do lip lift and reduction at the same time. I only consulted with this one surgeon about the lip reduction and then a few years later realized I wanted to do the lip lift. I am sorry I could not be of more help.
I was at first interested in EverM but after reading some of the reviews here I am not sure if I will go there. I have been told I will probably need two jaw, but if they have a record of ripping off foreigners, then no.
I do have a very strong jawline, but I have tried Botox and it does little for that issue. It perhaps made it only slimmer and it wasn't that noticeable. For me it is the shape of my face in combnation with the strong jaw and chin. Surgery is the only solution that I know that will remedy this once and for all.
Overall it is cheaper than America, but these prices quotes are still a bit higher than I expected to pay. In my opinion, these are nearly what doctors charge here. That is why when I get to Korea, I will see what I can haggle with doctor.
I received a Quote from the View and I am a bit worried:
Facial Contouring costs around; Jaw 7,000,000KW & Cheeks 7,000,000KW & Chin 7,500,000KW
From the photos alone, there may be a recommendation of Two-Jaw surgery or Protrusion correction
-Liposuction under the chin and along the jawline is proceeded with Acculift; costing around 2,400,000KW per area
-Fat graft is around 2,500,000KW per area and for full facial costing around 3,000,000KW
I know that this email is an overprice, but even if I tried to haggle 30% less, it would still be more than I am willing to pay.
Sound reasoning, and I 100% agree. Like I said, I had my initial rhinoplasty done by an inexperienced surgeon in the United States and I paid the price with my money and looks. Went to a much more qualified surgeon in Mexico who charged me less than half of what other surgeon charged, and who did a seamless beautiful rhinoplasty for me and corrected all the issues I was having before. Do you research, take your time to find the surgeon that you believe will give you the results you need, regardless of whether the doctor is. Doing a surgery in your home country does not lessen any risks, and that was the point I was making earlier.
I had ptosis surgery in 2011, and my problem was there wasn't much change. Perhaps you can consult with the doctor that originally did it and see what he recommends? I plan to redo mine when I arrive in Korea.
