  1. I am assuming you ended up waiting? I had this dilemma myself but I have found that you have to match whatever season and temps you are comfortable with, no matter where you go... Or you will NOT have a good time!
  2. Specifically with the KSPRS. There are a few other boards as well but this is the top one so I always look into this and check. I have found a number of clinics that were not certified with them.
  3. 10 and 12 should be fine in terms of age for travel. Assuming they are well behaved kids. I have traveled with both of my children since they were 3 and 5. I never had any issues. I have been to Korea once as well for a vacation and they loved it there.
  4. So something I had been considering since my teens really is getting my teeth fixed. I have looked into prices and options for what I would need done and it would seem Korea might be the best and most affordable option. I need some implants done as my teeth had badly decayed following my second pregnancy. I had so many vitamin deficiencies that my teeth just fell apart. One of the clinics I found was everm dental clinic but I don't think they actually offer dental implants. It seems they only fix the structure of the jaw and face. I will probably need that as well but I have to get my teeth sorted first. Does anyone know of any clinics that have great dental options for foreigners?
  5. Is this a law in the US as well? I am not sure if they have cameras on operating rooms or not but I guess it makes sense for legal reasons. Can you request a copy of the tape too once the surgery is complete?
  6. You'd be surprised by how many people are overwhelmed. Anything new is overwhelming, especially when it comes to medical related things. I had issues myself. One thing I will say is to trust your gut. If a doctor/clinic doesn't feel right, just find another one. There are TONS of them in Korea.
  7. My sister got lipo. Not in Korea but in the states. She found out the cost differences after the fact. She paid $12,000 in 2019 and the same work would have cost her $8,500 in Korea to give you an idea.
  8. You should be able to go over all that and send it via e-mail before you even travel. Most clinics would prefer to have the information ahead of time anyways and not have to scan physical documents.
  9. Thank you, This was SUPER helpful. I heard back from the clinic yesterday and will be doing a virtual consultation tomorrow. Fingers crossed this is the place for me
  10. Can I ask what clinic you went to? You can DM me if you'd like. I am just a bit hesitant with some of them as I have read good things and really bad things for this type of surgery!
  11. I am looking for some information on the specifics of a rib cartilage rhinoplasty operation. One that would extend the nose and make it appear more uniform. I want to know the costs, surgery time, recovery time, etc. in averages for Korea clinics. I am doing a comparison of local clinics for a friend. Any help would be great!
  12. I would have assumed that a BBL would be substantially more than a standard lift but I guess I am not familiar enough with the surgery. Is it a combination of a lift and implant?
  13. It seems a lot of people are not aware of this so you are not alone I am just glad to be of help. I know looking into this stuff can be a bit overwhelming and confusing. You just want to make sure you are safe and getting your money's worth.
  14. I agree with this. Certain materials can't be used in the face, especially for nose work. All modern and registered doctors would avoid using both of these materials because of the safety risks.
  15. There are a number of things you can do. You want to meet face to face with your surgeon if/when possible to confirm their credentials, name, etc. You can made sure they are board certified by the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. You may also be able to check this in the US (if you are in America) via the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Another common one is to request footage of your surgery. Beginning in 2021, Korea has a law that mandates any operation under anesthesia has to be recorded via cameras in the rooms and patients can request the footage and it must be provided. Red flags include extremely low costs for surgeries, allowing or outright skipping in-person consultations, and receiving uninformative, vague, or questionable answers when you raise concerns about your surgery.
  16. All the top clinics that deal with international patients offer virtual consultations via WhatsApp, Zoom, or dedicated platforms to help patients plan. Some clinics offer more thorough consultations than others, but most of them are free. You just have to schedule ahead of time. If you find a clinic you like, it should be listed on their website.
