Outside of a specific period post-operation stay, most people don't need to worry about this. If you need a follow up that goes beyond your stay, they will have you arrange it with a clinic in your local area so you don't need to fly back. The people that tend to go back and forth are already doing so for different reasons or just have the money and love to be in Korea.

I would imagine some do and some people allow for their work to be shown. They usually blur the faces out a bit so you only focus on the work that was done. It is the same for dentist work, they give consent and then the clinic will who their results to help other people see what is possible.

You have plenty of time to plan your trip. I wouldn't worry right now. You can start looking into things next month. So long as your flights are booked and you have your hotel booked, everything else is secondary.

I like to look through them for everything, not just when I am looking to go to a clinic for some work. I check reviews before buying anything online, before eating anywhere new, etc. etc. The trouble is that a lot of them can be easily faked and often are. So I wouldn't hold reviews as a high standard when deciding. Contact the clinic and ask if you can see before and afters. See if they can show you an edited picture of what your surgery would look like.

You are right, some people do it but most people can't afford it. And yes, they do tend to require fees or a percentage of the surgery be paid up front to protect from lost time due to last minute cancellations.

It is okay Most people don't go on forums daily. I know life can be busy offline. I am just glad you got help here. It can be hard to plan for plastic surgery locally much less in Korea. There is a lot of consider and plan for.

It is very different if you are in person. I would imagine many clinics end up seeing a percentage of cancellations every year from foreigners.

I actually read this as work like as in a job But yeah, as mentioned you do not need anything special coming from the US. South Korea has lean travel laws for Americans.

It depends on the clinic. Most state of the art (modern) clinics will offer a consultation online that includes rendering, planning, ect. so you can see what the surgery will look like on your face. That being said, the cost will vary. I would imagine they give you a cost estimate with room for it to be less or more expensive. Without seeing you in person, I doubt they can sign off on a set price. Medical work doesn't work like that.

This question gets asked a lot and there is no honest way to answer this because every surgery is different. Even when you compare the same surgery and different people, recovery times differ. It is always better to have extra time though.

I think the most impressive part is indeed the aftercare. I don't see any other place doing what they do. The only comparison is dental work in Mexico.

It is okay! A lot of people don't know about this unless they speak with a doctor or are working with clinics to find options. You might be better off doing botox to help plump things up and wait until you are a bit older before doing this?

It is normal to have subtle puffiness for several months, especially in areas like the jawline, neck, or under the chin. You will almost have a feel and look of a pillowing like texture to the skin. You shouldn't have to worry about it and it will go down over time.

Well one of the biggest downsides is they are not permanent. They last anywhere from 5 to 10 years. There are also risks involved - cysts, reactions, loosening of the fold, etc. Also you run the risk of them being uneven due to the healing process.

The quality is on par with the US, and in same cases better. Overall it is better imo. You end up spending up to 50% less money for the same quality but many Korean clinics also have more comprehensive aftercare that is included in the total cost. Things like lymphatic massage, scar treatment, and stem cell therapy can be included in the package which is amazing. You will be hard-pressed to find this sort of thing included for free in the US!
