  1. When I search for this specifically in South Korea, DA Plastic pops up with an informational page (might be useful?) https://daprseng.com/contouring/mouth.php I would imagine that most of these surgeries are the same and follow a similar process.
  2. I was going to mention shaving right away. They do bone shaving a lot to make facial features symmetrical. Is it actually safe? IDK...
  3. I have not heard of anyone doing this before for plastic surgery. Sounds neat! I am not sure if I could be of much use for such a thing but I would be happy to give some information and things I have learned about the process thus far. There are others here that have actually traveled to Korea once or more times for work and have had amazing experiences.
  4. I noticed there are some plastic surgery clinics in South Korea that go by the same name or very similar names. Sometimes one is an older clinic that has since closed, other times it is down to clinic relocation. There are cases where two clinics exist at the same time with names that are pretty much identical... Which makes it super hard to find information online, especially if you are relying on AI. I have seen information be wrong a number of times because it was pulling from two different clinics! One example of this is "Pride Plastic Surgery" - which is located at 111 Dosan-daero, Seoul. Then you have "The Pride Plastic Surgery" - which is located at 4F, Apgujeong Building, 842 Nonhyeon-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. See how this can be very confusing for someone trying to find information online that is not entirely familiar with the area or fluent in Korean? I am not really sure how to avoid this. Like I know not all clinics do this but I have seen enough of them that have such similar names, that the information you get online could be outdated or just flat out wrong. What is the best approach for stuff like this when trying to find information about a clinic, to make sure you are getting the right information for the right clinic? I have even seen confusion with recommendations and reviews too.
  5. You can do a search on their website or ask AI to compile the information for you if you are not sure. I believe @smolcat22is correct, most offer free virtual ones.
  6. This is something I don't see mentioned enough. A friend of mine has one of these cards and you are able to use it for anything medical related. She actually uses it for her dog since he has special medical needs. So you could absolutely use it for overseas plastic surgery expenses!
  7. I mean I am not seeing any mention of this. It could be due to my location but even the AI in the browser search is saying there is no connection with this doctor.
  8. Don't most people go to Turkey for hair transplants though? At least that is what I have gathered online, because it is very cheap there.
  9. I was just reading about them. I have never heard of this before and I don't see it being offered anywhere locally. I am wondering if this is something new and trendy or if it is called something else depending on where you go? It looks interesting.
  10. I guess this is fine if you don't mind spending more or can afford to spend more. I am sure other countries have options like this too. But for most people going to Korea, they are going to save money so this doesn't really help with that!
  11. Factory clinics are scammy and scummy. Even if they do provide good results for less, most of them are just after a quick buck and there are so many health hazards involved. I would avoid them entirely. I read some horror stories online about botched operations at these places and going to sue or report them, and the clinics just vanish like a ghost doctor or someting!
  12. There are tons of clinics that offer this, even if they do not state that they do. I recently saw people talking about pop plastic surgery in a group chat I am a part of, mentioning profile enhancement, reach out to them.
  13. I didn't know they actually use threads! That is interesting. I will have to see if I can find a video of it being done. Now I am curious. It sounds like a great option for younger people looking to get minimal work done.
  14. Have you tried asking in the Discord? This is a more niche of a thing to travel for I think. A lot of people travel to Korea for eye, nose, jaw, and lip work. Some people go for general skin issues and hair issues but because these tend to need multiple visits, it is stuff people get locally more often than not.
  15. Someone I chat with now and then in a Facebook group has gone to Hollywood Smiles. She seemed to like it but I can't recommend it without any personal experience. It does help to know someone though that has gone.
  16. I know in Mexico it costs between $2,000 and $6,000 per session. And I think most people need at least 3 sessions. I think it is done every 6 weeks, then once your boosting sessions are done, you do it once a year for maintenance.
  17. I wouldn't go by this. Cities are very popular and busy all around the world. You have to account for things like road work, accidents, public events, etc. and I would not risk staying too far from whatever clinic I would be going to.
  18. I'll post a breif summary of what it is below to give you a better understanding of what it is. It is becoming more and more popular, especially for female hair loss : Stem cell scalp treatments are minimally invasive therapies designed to reactivate dormant hair follicles and promote natural hair regrowth by injecting mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) into the scalp. These cells are typically harvested from the patient’s own fat tissue or scalp biopsy, processed to isolate stem cells and growth factors, and then injected into thinning areas. The treatment is primarily indicated for mild to moderate hair loss (up to stage 3 on the Norwood scale for men and stage 2 for women) and works by releasing bioactive molecules that stimulate vascularization and reduce inflammation. Key benefits include minimal downtime (1–2 days), no risk of rejection when using autologous cells, and results that typically become visible within 3–6 months.
  19. YES! I was looking into these options myself. My husband's co-worker has a wife that got Botox injections done for her scalp. She had lost hair after having covid-19 and it never came back. So she found a clinic last year that offers it. Within 6 months her hair had filled back in. I saw the pictures!
  20. Have you considered other options? Red light therapy, stem cell scalp treatments, botox for scalp? I know a lot of people thing the only option is a hair transplant and that tends to be more the case for men than women. I have seen women grow back most of their hair with non-surgical methods like the ones mentioned. They are cheaper too!
  21. NOPE. It is not worth it. Botox is not something that is terribly expensive to begin with. Why would I ever go to another country and spend all the costs of hotel, flights, etc. and pay more when I can just book an appointment 30 min from where I live?
  22. I heard Grand Plastic Surgery has a doctor that has worked with several KPop stars. I believe the doctor's name is Dr. Rhee Se Whan if I am remembering the right clinic. Good luck finding more information on this though. It is not easy.
  23. I believe you are sedated for this so medical complications could arise from that. Very important to get your heart checked before getting anything done that requires you to be put under as it can stop your heart!
  24. I think it depends on what your budget is as well. If you don't care about flight costs, avoiding the main monsoon season is probably best but you can find good deals on flights and hotel stays during that time too.
  25. YES! This is something I don't see asked enough. You will have to fill out a form and give them all information. It helps if you can bring with you diagnostic sheets from your doctors as well as lists of all prescriptions or over-the-counter medication you use. Even vitamins. Some vitamins can cause excessive bleeding and are a no-no for surgery.
