Hi! I was planning on returning to Korea in 2021 for plastic surgery but I wanted to know when the peak times at clinics are usually. I've also heard of people preferring the winter over the summer for some reason.

you can purchase one at the airport! i usually prefer ordering pocket wifi online before arriving though, prefer keeping my own phone number!

No problem Hmm, their convenience stores usually don't sell groceries (e.g. veggies, raw meat) but they do sell a wide variety of instant food/ready-to-go meals! So don't worry about it getting food there. Also, they have other popular convenience store chains such as CU and GS25. Cheers!

Do you know if the 7/11 convenience stores sell groceries? I have a BNB that is near one and I was planning to pick up some ingredients for cooking and some cheap instant food there? (My local 7/11 has some basic groceries so I was hoping Korea has similar products or better!)

Depending on the period (peak/non-peak) as well as how busy the clinic would be. I would say 1 week might be a little rushed as the surgery date may not be scheduled on the following day after consultation. I would recommend you to give some allowance of +2 to 3 days. Stitches removal is usually on day 5 or 7 depending on the procedures done.

Hi there! I was in Korea last year for about 2 weeks as well and I bought around $1k CAD equivalent for food + spending. Personally, I would say it's more than enough For street food, each item may costs around $4-5,000 won on average. (myeong-dong area). As for cuisine in mid-tier restaurant, pricing for main courses are usually below $20,000 won unless you opt for fresh seafood/kbbq which can varies depending on the restaurant I also did some cooking during my recovery and I would suggest you to visit local supermarkets for groceries instead of big shopping malls. Groceries in malls tend to be pricer and I made the mistake by purchasing there in my first few days. Try to use Navermap to find local supermarket near your place Hope my experience helps! Cheers.

If you dont mind paying extra for convenience, you can pay for taxi which cost around 80k with tolls. Download Naver map and it really helps with navigation in Korea. Google maps doesn't work well in Korea at all. For public transport, you can use Airport buses.

I would say if you havent secured a clinic yet and looking to do some face 2 face consultation, you would need to buffer 1-2 days for consultation and then additional 7 days for recovery post op. Total would be 10 days minimum. Suture removal is always done on the 7th day, 5th would be too early, this is based on my experience

Hi, I heard foreigner usually wait for few days (1-3 days) to schedule surgery but clinics prioritize foreigner if possible. They know limited time. I think 1 week is too short. Usually it takes 5 -7 days for suture removal (incisional DES).

I ate lots of noodles, soup and drank pumpkin juice. After the surgery, I lost my appetite and didn’t feel like eating at all. So my diet was pretty simple.

I would advice to get your own room through airbnb, it is cheaper than hotel. if you don't mind small room, they have private room and private bath kind of rooms in a female or male dormitory kind of setting. The place I stayed was pretty cheap. hotels are about 70000won a day.
