nylorac, thanks for sharing your experience in great detail. I find it very helpful since I am at a similar age and are considering the same types of procedures.
I am curious if your doctor at ID ever explained, before they operated on you, the sagging effect of bone reduction surgeries, which is a lot worse for patients in their 40s since their skin is not as elastic as that of younger patients? Were you aware of this side effect beforehand? It's hard to imagine that your doctors weren't aware of it, after all they do this type of surgeries day in and day out, I could only conclude that they purposedly withheld the info so that you wouldn't hesitate to take on the surgeries and pay them big bucks! I hope a new lower face lift and neck lift will help you with the sagging issue.
Mai, thanks for taking the time to give us a great re-cap that's filled with info, tips, how-tos and all sorts of helpful info that we come to expect from your posts. Congratulations on your amazing result as you mentioned in your post! I am very happy for you.
No questions for you, just want to send my best wishes in everything else you do in life.
I am so sorry to hear what you have to endure nylorac2112! It's absolutely horrible how these doctors treat their paying patients. I'd suggest take your time this time and find a doctor that can actually help. Did you have the lifts first before bone reductions? Why would you do that? Is that why you are considering lifts again? What did ID do to cut off too much bone? Did you see your CT scan post op to get an idea what they did?
I may do some of the procedures you did, and if you like catch me up in Kakao: MrsKing.
Thank you for the quick reply dreamx2! Appreciate it. I see that they are not known as the go-to place for nose, how does your friend like her/his nose result?
I'm very impressed that your friend did all procedures: eyes, nose facial contour all in one shot.. hats off for that. Got be tough during recovery..
Would you know what procedures Girin is famous for or good at? I looked at their Korean only web site , with the inadequate google translation, I got an impression that they seemed to be good at facial contouring, nose and eyes? Do you or any former know of anyone who did face lift with them? If so, I would really love to know how it went..
First of all, hope all is well with you.
Can I ask you why Dr. Kim did your acculift? Was it because Dr. Park didn't specialize in Acculift? But I've heard from one forumer who did Acculift with Dr. Park @Dream, which seems to me that Dr. Park can perform that procedure.
So do you like the fact that you look very different after surgery? I hope so. ppl say swelling is usually bad after rhino, I haven't had any so can't speak on it.
Would you mind sharing which clinic and doctor did yours? and what type of nose and eye jobs did you do.
Just curious how you like your lateral result? Would you mind sharing your lateral experience and result when you have a moment? I have small and short eyes and would really love to have them elongated if poosible.. my eyes are pretty close to one another so I'm not a good candidate for epi. I hesitate to have it due to the concern K mentioned and the lack of success story on lateral. Would love to hear what you have tosay about the result. Thanks in advance
Thanks agacci for explaining further of your situation. I appreciate it very much. I gathered from what you said that you had mid face and neck lift? I really hope that the heavy lower face that you are experience now is still the result of the residual swelling that comes from the lifts. I know it has been a while since your suegery, but maybe people at our age heal a lot slower?
I am going to do my mid face and neck lift in 3 weeks!!! so nerve racking... I would so appreciate if you could kakao me when you have some time I just hope that I wouldn't choose your doctor - no offense
May I ask you something about Dr. Kim who did your acculift if you don't mind? I remember you had said somewhere that you were planning to consult him for zygoma reduction, but he advised on acculift since it's a soft tissue issue rather than bone issue for you.
Knowing you, I would think that you must have researched Dr. Kim and his skill on zygoma reduction before consulting him.. am I right on this? If so, would you mind sharing why you thought Dr. Kim was good on zygoma reduction? Is he also good at face lift procedures? I am curios which doctor at Dream is good at lift procedures..
Hi AsianLady, thank you for the advice! It's great to see you so happy with your result. How I wish I would end up feeling the same if I go thru with it later.
I agree with you that a true face lift will last longer and work better for older ppl when sagging is more serious. Mini or thread lift may not last as long. But I am worried about the aesthetic result of a full lift for myself based on what I see here on the forum. I'll kakao you about your pictures and talk more there.
Hi agacci, I am also in my late 40s and planning to have some kind of lift procedure when I go to Korea in 4 weeks. I am so sorry to hear about your experience and also thankful that you shared with us so we have more personal testimonies to consider before taking the big step. Would you mind letting us know what it did to your mid face aesthetically that you don't like? I was actually chatting with a forumer yesterday about mid face lift and how it brings everything below and around the cheekbone arch to it, creating a full/fuller cheekbone, sometimes even protruding cheeck. I feel that the protruding effect can destroy one's previous elegant facial contour in that area. For people who need fuller cheekbone to look good lift may work very well. But for folks like myself who try to minimize the fullness, lift can be a problem aesthetically even though it corrects sagging and loose skin. I am curious what you think of this observation after going through the procedure.
When are you going again? I am going and will be there Sept.1- Sept 25. Let me know if you'll be there during that time. My kakao id is MrsKing.
I'm not gonna engage in any kind of back-n-forth here, that is not my style. So this is my last post on this. I've made it clear - one is entitled to advocate what s/he believes in on PS procedures based on experience, as long as the person follows the forum rule and stays on topic. Its up to the readers to use their own discretion when making PS decisions. As far as I am concerned, the more advocacy the better. You don't think K should advocate in this particular case, I do and would like to respectfully ask her to do more. Lets just agree to disagree .
You have been quite vocal on a couple of topics in the forum, and for the most part, I agree with you. But what you said above is something I can't agree at all. I don't see it the way you did, and I think your message is rather unfair to someone like K Couture who has spent lots of her own time sharing her personal experience, opinions, knowledge she aquired along her journey and has in fact helped many here, myself included. We all can find lots of official info on PS procedures from doctors, books, good web sites if we do our homework, what's missing is past patients personal testimonies about procedures or doctors, and most PS patients will not bother to take the time and share their experience AFTER the surgery. Few will, and we are lucky that they do. So be grateful for that.
As far as I know K Couture has never presented herself in this forum as a medical professional, and that's not what most here are looking for anyway if you haven't figured that out. It's perfectly fine if someone, like yourself, disagrees with her opinion on what is the best material for rhino, but its entirely different when you start questioning her right to share the personal opinions based on her experience and data.
I hope K will continue to post more here. I for one will look forward to reading them
Its real nice of you to share your story with shan shan and all of us here. That gives me a little hope there are clinics/doctors in korea who are willing to make up to their patient if things go wrong.
I may have missed some of your posts, but weren't you talking about zygoma and jaw reduction and you were going to do it in Sept? Did you change your mind on procedures and went early? Did you have it with TL since your message is in this thread? Which doctor performed and revised for you? Did you do bone surgery with them also? Sorry for so many questions.
lemmiknox, thanks a million for a detailed report! This might just be the most complete report on Dr Wang that I know from the forum. I am sure it will help lots off ppl who are interested in rib rhino. Its really nice of you to take the time answering all of the questions.
Sounds like you had a real nice experience with Dr. Wang -happy for you. Please keep us posted on your progress. Enjoy your new nose!
Thanks for being willing to provide info on your experience and great that you and your mom had good experience. I remember you mentioned about v-line before, would you mind letting us know what procedures you both had and how do you like the result now? which doctors in K Samsung operated on you?
Great to know that you like the results of your nose by Dr. Wang. Isn't that the most wonderful feeling after a PS procedure one can ask for?! I remember looking him up quite a bit a while back, profiles of his patients were very impressive. Now I couldn't even get to his official website There have been some mixed reviews on Dr. Wang in the forum, but overall not a whole lot info.
Some of the questions I have are list here, but feel free to pick the ones u feel like answering please Thanks in advance
1. Were they busy when you were there?
2. How does the hospital/clinic look like?
3. Did you see lots of paients after surgeries? Did they look happy and good with their noses?
4. Did Dr. Wang talk about the need of revision before surgery?
5. Did he do anything for your premaxilla periosteum? If so what did he do? and are you feeling ok with that part so far?
6. Did u do rib cartilage? if so, how is your chest recovering?
7. Is it very expensive now to do nose with Dr. Wang?
jilly, I applaud you for sharing your own pictures and provide loads of info just to help the rest of us here! Really appreciate it. Your eyes look great already. Happy for you.
