Totally agree with you on choosing Dr. Kwon for eyes vitalic. Did he recommend lateral cantho at all? or are they also shying away from the procedure due to potential complications?
That's real helpful vitalic. I will make sure to consult with him when I am there. You also got me to rethink about doing surgeries in 2 batches just to get Dr. Kwon for my eyes.
I imagine Tieum is extremely busy when you were there? Did you see any older patients (in their 40s-50s) there for their eyes? Were most patients local korean?
vitalic, you are such a brave girl! 2 batches of surgeries in ~3 weeks time with one surgery being 2 jaw, and both end up with great results. How I wish I could be in your shoes.
When you have chance, I'd love to hear your experience with Tieum for eyes. Did they knock you out completely? or were you awake through out the process? What did you do if you don't mind.
Hope you find the right doctor soon and get all of your questions answered! Also, best wishes for a great surgery and wonderful result. Would love to hear your TLPS experience if you can share later.
Nicole, good luck with the selection of the doctor, surgery and the whole trip! Look forward to the best results from you! I am also interested in consulting with TLPS on lower jaw shaving in Sept. Hope to hear from you what they have to say about muscle, soft tissues, and fat, if these are deemed contributing factors for a wide lower face, in addition to correcting bones.
I don't have horizontal wrinkles in my forehead, which are caused by the over use of muscle A in the picture of the above link. Instead, I have vertical lines right between brows which are caused by over use of muscles B and D (squinting too much without realizing), therefore, my botox injection was only done on these 2 muscles. I think you have the similar situation with over squinting so I imagine your injection might also be on B and D. If injected the right dosage, after 3-4 days, you will not be able to bring brows together even if you try really hard. Since no injection is done to muscle A, you should still be able to raise your brows freely, which is great in that it won't give you a "frozen" forehead.
K, I imagine your nose is healing well since you mentioned your only concern was on FG. Very happy for you about the nose job.
BTW, wanted to mention something regarding your forehead FG. If you want to avoid using the forehead muscle to save the fat placed there, give botox a try. I had botox on my 11 area a couple of months ago, since then my forehead has become increasingly smooth as the result of muscle not getting used much.
K, Thanks and I am planning to discuss that with my surgeon to see if it's possible to not wake me up in the middle, but do it in the very end. We'll see.
That's right you also had Acculift and forehaed FG - I remember you talking about it earlier. Did Dr. Park do all 3 procedures for you? How do you like these 2 procedures so far? I understand it will take a while to see the final result.
May I ask why you would prefer quick zygoma over the regular one? I know the recover time is short, is there any other benefit? I need a good reduction and don't mind the recovery time..
Thanks K. I guess it isn't that bad.. but again its 10 am, crowd may not have gathered..
Sorry that I edited my last post on you.. Added one question:
I remember seeing one of your earlier posts about having a panic attack.. Was there anything Dream did this time about the panic attack for you so you could stay conscious the whole time without being freaked out? One of my main concerns is my panic/anxiety attack that worries me if I do my eyes and have to be woken up in the middle.. I am afraid I may go berserk..
Congrats K, you've got it done and over with! How I wish I could be in your situation.
Glad to hear that your nose looks straight and symmetrical. Dr. Park sounds very skillful being able to do all that closed, and the best part, he really cared to listen to what you want. Pray for you for things to continue going great and you end up with wonderful result - you really deserve it after all the work and research you put into and sharing your knowledge with everyone.
A couple of quick questions before I run, is Dream terribly busy right now? I remember seeing one of your earlier posts about having a panic attack.. Was there anything Dream did this time about the panic attack for you so you could stay conscious the whole time without being freaked out? One of my main concerns is my panic/anxiety attack that worries me if I do my eyes and have to be woken up in the middle.. I am afraid I'll go berserk..
I have always wondered about what exactly happens to the part of masseter muscle that are attached to the lateral surface of the mandible bone that get cut off in the reduction surgery. Below is a link to an image I found on the internet where masseter is shown.

Is what you said about the masseter in a mandible reduction surgery based on doctor's advice? or just what you think should have happened in this case? Does anyone here in the forum ever receive an explanation from a surgeon about what really happens?

Not sure if this is going to help anyone here, but if anyone tries, please share your experience if you can.
Good that you'll have someone there with you! Totally understand the nerveousness you are feeling, but remember you've done your part in locating the most capable surgeon for your case, and Dr. Park seems to be very knowledgeable and experienced. Try to relax, I am sure everything will be fine.
I'm sure you will go over everything with Dr. Park again before the surgery, and don't let anyone rush you on that. Make sure he understands all your concerns. Good luck and pray for your great result.
Mem, sorry for getting back to you so late! Thanks for giving me a good idea. I happen to be researching TLPS, which does quite bit of thread lifts. I'll look into it. At the moment though, I am still leaning towards a surgical lift that claims last longer than thread. I'm going to Korea in the Fall.
Thanks for helping me to go back and take another look at TLPS Their power v lift looks interesting. I know some forumers are concerned over its fat reduction feature, but I am not sure the concern is justified, particularly for chubby cheeked Asians like myself. It's probably a legit concern for many Caucasians who naturally have less fat/soft tissue in their cheeks - when they get older, they may have the problem of hollow cheeks if they have the power v at young age. Asian women with naturally full cheeks I see usually don't get hollow anywhere in their face as they get older. Their cheeks usually look less full, therefore, better as they age, but their lower faces gets heavy and wide. That's what happened to me.
I need to solve my bone problem first with zygoma and jaw, then consider something like power v lift for fat reduction. I was honing in on DA over the last few weeks, now I want to also take a look at TL because of its 3D zygoma and power V lift.
Thanks for being so informative and patient with all of our questions. Hope I am not taking too much of your time.
Feel sorry for the poor girl with a dispoointed nose from Dr. Ann .. Was the good nose with high bridge? Hope Dr. Ann is capable of adding a good bridge if it's needed..
You had mentioned somewhere that you weren't complete certain that Dr. Lee from DA was the best for eye surgery. Have you seen any patients of his that made you say so? Or is it just that you haven't seen many good eye results from him?
Would you mind sharing more about the V-line acculift you had? I have lots of fat in my face, particulaylt in the lower part of the face around the jaw area. It just seems that everytime I put on some weight, it all goes to my face and jaw! I plan to have acculift to remove those fat, then have a lower face lift to tighten the skin and underlying tissue. In your experience with Acculift, do you think Acculift is the the right one for me in terms of removing extra fat in the face? I am not too worried about sagging, because I need a lower face lift anyway.
Sorry for a long post. Hope you rest well. Only write back when you have time and energy
mimi - thanks for taking the time to share! I am happy to see that you've got it done and over with , sit back, relax and enjoy the results - how I wish I could do that now..
I have a few questions if you don't mind. Take your time to write back, no hurry.
1. Did Dr. Lee from DA elaborate why he couldn't give you the result you wanted? What was the issue? Is it 'coz Acculift doesn't really lift much? Did he recommend some flavors of face lift instead? I didn't think he was specialized in lift/lipo in DA..
2, Did Dr. Lee from DA say anything about the eye procedure you wanted?
3, Did you do eye first or Acculift at TLPS? Did they use GA on you or just iv sedation?
4, Where are you satying? Do you like it?
Can't wait to see your results! But no pressure if you can't share.
