Thanks for sharing! I'm very happy for you to have come out of such major procedures and being so strong and upbeat. Good for you. I am sure you'll love our result. Everm knows what it's doing for sure.
Great! I guess in order to buddy up for consultation and negotiation, we have to have similar arrival dates. I haven't finalized my dates yet, but good to know that you have a set date so I'll see if I can manage to match yours. Keep in touch, PM me when you have 10 posts please.
I had the same question when I played with my bridge in front of the mirror. Glad to see cloudbusting raised it here I can also see the point how it can happen just like Milktoki says that the skin would just be stretched and get back to its original state.
Hope ladybugz see this and share her experience on this if possible. Thanks in advance!
shiny, I think a lot of Asians are like us who have naturally larger masseter muscle whether they chew on tough food or not. As long as we eat meals that requires chewing, our masseter muscle will remain voluminous
Botox, I think, causes muscle atrophy even when we chew on food (other muscles on the face are used instead). I am not too worried when to get the botox injection in relation to the surgery time, I think Dr. Lee should have a better idea on that. But if you are going to see other doctors, I would think getting the injection a couple of weeks after the surgery might be better maybe?
shiny, lets hope Mindy will get around to answer that for us. I learned from K Couture about the muscle and soft tissue being a contributing factor in determining the width of one's face in the frontal view. I would add that fat can be another factor if there is enough of it. K mentioned that her jaw surgery didn't really reduce her facial width much along the lower jaw, it was the botox injection which shrank the masseter muscle that helped the most. I was just curious if Dr. Lee from DA has a strategy for masseter and tissue in additional to bone reduction. So far DA in on the top my list. For some reason, I feel comfortable with him already just seeing what people say about him in posts here and what's on their web site.
In case you don't see my message earlier, many thanks for getting back to me on mandible reduction.
I have a wide jaw also from front view. In your opinion, cutting the jaw bone alone should resolve the problem, or one should also consider muscle and soft tissue reduction to fully address the issue? Did Dr. Lee mention about your muscle and soft tissue volume during the whole process? If so, did he do anything to your masseter (chewing muscle) or soft tissue? If he didn't touch those, are you happy with the slimming effect so far based on what you can see?

The password worked for me - thanks a ton Mindy! Mallisa, try to type in the password instead of copy/paste.
Mindy, your swelling improved so quickly. There was quite a bit difference between day 2 and day 4 amazing! You notes are very helpful too. I'll make I get a syringe with me
Can I ask you a question about the mandible reduction? Did you choose mandible 'coz your chin looks good to start with so no need to touch it? Did Dr. Lee cut a long strip of bone starting from the part that's under the ear all the way to the chin area? I am asking this since I need the same procedure too. And I like this method - no metal screws would be needed to attach the bones. Did you ask for a more dramatic look or natural one?
Enjoy the process of seeing your own transformation!
Mindy, great to see that you sound so upbeat at Day 5 post-op! It's absolutely encouraging for many of us who are considering DA. Heal well and enjoy Seoul as much as you can. Can't wait to hear about your eye job and jaw work.
Nicole, that's a great idea! I looked up the nearest bank branch they have near me and found one pretty close, so I called them. You are right that emergency fund should work, and there seems to be quite a few citibank branches in Seoul. The only problem might be that they will not give you USD cash when you withdraw over there, instead they will give you the Korean won at their exchange rate, which can be slightly disadvantageous to you.
Mai, thanks for sharing the links. I think Dr. Ann did a pretty good job for her, what do you think? Would you consider Dr. Ann if you decide to go with DA? I would like to know how he does the BA since that's what I need.
I'm also wondering Dr. Ann is also the one who does eyes in DA. Will share any real patient testimonial if I find any.
I haven't had any fg, but if I may, I would suggest to try not to worry too much about the pain. You don't want to get yourself in a fearing mode for days leading up to the surgery.
May I ask the reason why you split the surgeries into 2 operations on 2 different days? Was it 'coz the eye and fg can't be done at the same time? Where did you have your eye done?
makeover, thanks for another update! Glad to hear that even your local PS thinks that your surgery went well. Everm must know well what its doing. Also, I'm glad your wisdom teeth were taken care of which helped with the deswelling as I had thought.
Wanna share something I learned today with motherhen and you all:
I went for a consultation with a plastic surgeon today about using filler for my forehead following botox injection. He talked about all options except for fat grafting. So I asked him about it, guess what he said immediately. He said he wouldn't recommend fat graft in the forehead because it could cause bumps that are made of fat, which reminds me of what motherhen had. Either this doc is really good that he knows something many other doctors don't, or he just made a good guess.
That's a good point paxsky. Now one more thing to consider when choosing the implant height
I imagine the problem won't be so obvious for younger people because their facial skin is tight to begin with so the stretch on the nose bridge won't be that obvious..
One of the problems with a high implant is the fact that skin gets stretched too much in the bridge area which can contribute to protruding/infection over the time... but for an older person (say in her late 40s), facial skin becomes looser naturally which in turn can help with protruding problem? what do you girls think?
When I pull up my skin in the bridge area, I do feel that I have quite a bit extra skin there to accommodate a implant. Of course, that's if my body doesn't rejects an implant.
I am assuming you are planning to use your bank's debit card (or a credit card) that has a Visa/Master logo to withdraw cash from ATM in Korea? The problem I can see with this plan is the daily limit the card usually has which is usually around US$1500 if you are from US. Lets say you need the equivalent of US$8000 on the 4th day you are there for procedures, you won't have enough days/time to accumulate the total amt.
And when you withdraw like this, both Korean ATM machine and your bank will charge you fees for using the ATM. And, a lot of times, your card will charge you an additional transaction fee. it can add up. The only good thing for this approach is you get the good exchange rate from Visa/Master which is always better than any financial institution.
