  1. Hi all,

Would like to make sure everyone is aware of this. I called up Regen and realised that the 2 surgeons who got good review in Purse Forum are no longer performing surgeries. Dr Lee Seok Jun for nose and face contouring as well as Dr Yu Ji Han for body contouring recently stopped performing surgery at Regen (Don't know if that means they are leaving or not). The new surgeons for nose is now Park Shin Hong and for body contouring is Kim Do Hyung. I dropped Regen right the way.

From all the research I've done, I realised that many surgeons like to team up with their schoolmates to open clinics at the beginning. E.g. JW's surgeons are Yonsei Uni graduates, Dream and View are Seoul National Uni graduates, Life is Hanyang Uni. Big busy clinics tend to have surgeons from all over the place.

In the past, most surgeons from Regen are Seoul National U graduates (Top Uni in Korea). But the 2 new surgeons for nose and body look young and are from some pretty unknown schools...

It's purely my personal preference to have someone from a reputable school. Ofcourse I believe there are good surgeons coming from unknown schools as well, but I believe certain degree of pride from a famous school will push them to perform. Just personal opinion.

  3. Hi Vitalic,

Glad to hear everything is well! I'm going to see Dr Yoon for the 2nd time in Sep and very likely I'll be doing 2-jaw with him next year.

Got some ques regarding your fat graft. How's the effect so far? any absorption? I have dark circles problem as well. Did your FG fix the problem? How long did it take for your swelling from FG to come down?

Do you think 3-weeks is enough between jaw surgery and FG?

    Thanks loads!

  4. You have your 2nd graft yet?

  5. Hi peachygiraffe, I've actually consulted a jaw and a rhino specialist about this matter. I had a perception before that one should undergo rhino first, but I was wrong. Both surgeons said it doesn't matter, as a good surgeon should be able to put your nose in the most ideal place and dimension. But I guess we are not talking about huge jaw reduction/ bone cutting, that your face will become 1/5 smaller that kind right...? Normal jaw reduction/ v-line correction shouldn't affect the rhino decision.

For me, I'm planning to undergo procedures separately just because I'll only trust an oral and maxillofacial specialist on jaw, and most multi-procedure hospital do not have them. I do agree that B&A and people's comment can only be treated as reference to cross out obvious ones. Final decision should only be made after you meet the surgeon face-to-face.

    Hope it helps

  6. Thanks for your post paxsky. Please don't feel depressed... as you've said, you weren't ready and you'd like to be firm on what you want first. I think that's the right attitude. It's a surgery you are going to go through and they will cut bones and some other unreversible procedures. It's best to think thoroughly and be sure. Think of it in a positive way, after you've done your surgery, you will live with your new pretty face for the rest of your life. So when you look back, this short wait to prepare yourself is nothing~

I 've actually told no one about my plan in having PS as well. I personally think there's nothing wrong with it but I do understand many people won't understand. What I see is, the world is changing due to all the technological innovation. I see all those laser facial, hair removal, teeth and face whitening procedures same as PS. The only difference is whether it's under knife or not. People pay huge sum of money on those procedures as well and many of those are not long-lasting. So I ask, why not PS?

I've also done a pure 'scouting' trip just to learn more and get myself more prepared. Consulted with EverM, Banobagi and Item. I think it's really helpful and makes me know more on 'what to ask'. Btw your experience with EverM is very similar to mine... here's my post (# Anyways, I'm planning to go again in Sep, will consult with Regen, Dream and JW, and maybe Life this time. I think I'm more ready this time and hopefully I'll undergo the surgery this time. But again, it's right to wait if you are not sure. It's a lifetime decision afterall!!

  7. Nevermind. I crossed it off within one day ... Talked to the consultant, she said the surgeons normally use Goretex. And when I asked if they can use silicone, they are still using L-shape ones (which I heard is more prone to protrusions and infections).

When I asked what are the specialty of individual surgeons, she said "Dr Chiu, Dr Lee and Dr Yoon does rhino surgery, they can also do face and body contouring."

Despite my confidence in the skills of SNU graduates and I do believe many surgeons can be good at multiple procedures, they cannot be 'best' at everything. I do not believe having one surgeon to work on nose, face and body can have the best outcome. This is really a red flag to me... although their B&A photos are amazing ...

  8. Anyone had surgery at VIEW lately? So many posts about 'wanting to' consult, and some one-liner negative comments, but not seeing too many posts about actual surgery there.

Can those who had surgery there, please post experience. How's their post-opt care? How's the rhino surgeon Dr. Choi?

For those one-liner negative comments, would you guys elaborate?

    Thanks

  9. That reply is from The Line... not Item.... Item didn't charge me anything when I book them

  10. Yes it's possible to just use grafted cartilage. But really depends on individual situation and what result you want. Best is to consult the Dr. Just send them pic of your nose and ask.

  11. Cloudbusting, hope your swelling goes down soon. Glad to hear that your mum likes her nose. She was so worried at one point.

  12. Thanks for your reply. So they didn't put you back to sleep after you woke up 1-2 hours early?

It's been 2 months for you now right? How does your nose look? Are you satisfy with your result? Would you mind sharing B&A?

Anyways, glad that you are happy with the rest of your surgeries. Happy recovery~

  13. Here's my review: # Only downside for EverM is that you can't have other procedures done there.

  14. They didn't show me a B&A album when I was there. They showed everything in their computer. There are quite a few cases on their website also.

  15. Good luck oronic. I also like Dr Yoon, find him very professional and nice ;)

Keep us posted on how it goes!

  16. More like $100 for the CT and when I asked them for a copy of XRay too, they said $150. But I'm sure you can bargain on these as they only need to put it in a CD. I was in a rush, and I think having my own CT/XRay will be useful in the future, so didn't bother to bargain at all.
