  1. I did a lot of reading and research on the Internet. If you have time, you can always go for multiple consultations. For me, I'm only there for 8 days and I'm flying off coming Wed!

  2. I’ve been contemplating plastic surgery for a year and now, and I’m super excited that I'm going to Banobaji for rhinoplasty in a week's time! I’ve read horror stories about how some clinics, even established ones, switch surgeons in the middle of surgeries because everyone wants a piece of their most popular surgeons. I engage DocfinderKorea (DF) to have a peace of mind.

I contact DF through email at [email protected] and within a couple of days, I receive a reply from Shin Park, the co-ordinator of DocfinderKorea. I am pleasantly surprised that DF does not charge the patients anything, and offers all kinds of help including medical advice, hospital and doctor information, appointment booking, hotel reservation, translation, pick-up & transfer and bargaining & solving problems with the clinic. The most important thing is, Shin will be accompanying me to my consultation, surgery and even post-operative care.

Shin provides suggestions on the clinics but the final decision totally lies on me. We also communicate through Whatsapp so there’s timely response. I must commend Shin for his patience and putting up with my constant bombardment of questions.

I'm skeptical about DF at first so I contact the clinics directly for quotations to see if there's a difference. You can see from the comparison that DF is very honest and transparent about its pricing. Patients of DF also get 5 - 15% discount from the clinics usually.

    Banobaji: 6.8 - 7.8m (clinic) / 4.95-6/6m (DF)
    DAPRS: 3m (clinic) / 3m (DF) - tiplasty only
    JW: 5m (clinic) / 5-6m (DF)

I choose Banobaji over DAPRS and JW because:

    1. I prefer the B&A of Banobaji to JW. Dr Suh of JW is famous but his results may be "too natural". In some of the B&A, I can hardly see a difference and in others, I see the "barbie" nose which I'm not particularly fond of.

    2. DAPRS's Dr Lee Sang Woon is famous for facial contouring but not a lot is known about the other surgeons doing rhinoplasty. Besides, I'm interested in rhinoplasty to raise my nose bridge too but DAPRS only suggested tiplasty.

    3. Dr Lee Hyeon Taek from Banobaji has good reviews on rhino and one blogger attributes her minimal swelling to his superb skills.

I'll keep you updated when I'm in Korea and more reviews on DF and Banobaji! I'll either post the B&A pictures of my rhinoplasty here or publish them on my blog.

  3. My coordinator Shin from DocfinderKorea (DF) told me that Banobaji accepts credit cards at no extra charge. Personally, I'm going to just pay by credit card. Just remember to call your bank to enable the "swipe" function overseas.

For me, I use DF, so Shin is going to be my translator. If you don't want to use an agent, that's fine too. Banobaji has its own translator. Personally, I feel safer with DF because I know there's someone there to help me bargain with the clinic and accompany me during surgery. It's my first time in Korea, and it helps to have someone to pick me up and drop me off at my hotel after my surgery.

  4. I got the exact same quote from Banobaji. DAPRS quoted me $15m for the three procedures though. If I'm do to facial contouring, I would choose either Banobaji or DAPRS. If you're there more a month, you can afford to go for multiple consultations before making a decisions.

  5. I think both because Banobaji asked me to pay for the deposit in USD but I paid in KRW instead. USD is crazy now ...

  6. Hello everyone! I'm going to Banobaji in a week's time to do rhinoplasty! My surgeon is Dr Lee Hyeon Taek. I engage DocfinderKorea (DF) because it's my first plastic surgery and I feel safer with someone local and has the industry knowledge. I must say that Shin, my coordinator, has been very helpful so far. I think there're some misunderstandings regarding DF in this thread...

I know that DF didn't inflate the prices because I emailed the clinics directly (I was also skeptical at first). Here're the comparisons for 3 clinics and figures are before discount.

    Banobaji: 6.8 - 7.8m (clinic) / 4.95 - 6.6m (DF)
    JW: 5m (clinic) / 5-6m (DF)
DAPRS (tipplasty only): 3m (clinic) / 3m (DF)

DF actually recommends DAPRS but personally, I'm more inclined to Banobaji because I want to increase the height of my nose bridge too rather than just re-shaping the tip. So, I don't think DF push people to Banobaji because I make my own decisions.

After reading the thread, I ask Shin about Claire and he told me that Claire actually sets up her own agency. Like what @pika has pointed out, it's actually Claire's doing and I do agree that 29m is way too much. Although I'm not doing facial contouring this round, I'm being quoted 17.5m by Banobaji and 15m by DAPRS for zygomatic reduction, jaw reduction and genioplasty.

Good luck to me in Seoul and I'll keep you guys updated on my surgery. Keeping my fingers crossed.

  7. I sent an email to Pitangui but no reply from them though...
