  1. I went with DocfinderKorea for my first surgery in SK about 4 years ago ‘cause I was a noob and felt more assured having someone who could speak KR. I know how y’all feel about middlemen but DFK was actually pretty decent.

The quotation from DFK was the same I got direct from the clinics. Yes, I had my fair share of doubts so I emailed the respective clinics separately. Shin (DFK) fetched me to/fro the airport-hotel-clinic, which was super useful because my hotel was quite far from the clinic then. Shin also offered to take me to the supermarket (which I politely declined), helped me negotiate a better price with the consultant and he even paid for my meds (antibiotics and such) from the clinic’s pharmacy after my surgery. All these cost $0 to me.

It did cross my mind how they earn huh? But since it was not out of my pocket, I didn’t really care, and assumed the clinic just paid them a referral fee. It’s just like looking for a job in SG and you go through a recruitment agency, the company will pay the agency a fee, and it doesn’t affect the salary you’re getting every month.

For my subsequent PS, I didn’t go through any middleman anymore and liaise directly with the clinics ‘cause I now know what to expect. Most clinics have English and Mandarin translators anyway so there really isn’t a need to go through a 3rd party once you’re more familiar with the scene. Good luck!

  2. Maybe it’s a blessing in disguise!

Anyway, came across @isabelle89 fg results by Kim Han Sung and she looks amazing! https://beautyhacker.com/forums/topic/955003-fat-graft-at-kim-han-sung-today/

KHS seems to specialise in fg and Dr. Kim is a broad certified ps surgeon. If ya’ll don’t already know, you can go to these websites to search if the docs are indeed legit or being suspended. Please share if anyone else has fg done at KHS. Tq!

    https://www.plasticsurgery.or.kr/eng/

Currently top on my list for fg
    in order of preference:
    1. Kim Han Sang - small clinic with mostly Korean clientele, seems to specialise in fg, stellar reviews from isabelle89, but still limited reviews.
    2. Dr Oh, Regen - did my first fg and touch-up with him, long-lasting natural results, hollow areas in lower cheek and undereye could be done better.
    3.
Dr Seo, MVP - mixed reviews 50/50, the odds not super assuring.

As for threadlift, I’m considering just doing it in SG at Radium with Dr Siew if I can’t find a good clinic in KR for this. My sis did her fillers with Dr Siew and she’s very happy with her results. Several bloggers had also shared their threadlifts results by Dr Siew. One indisputable plus point of doing it in my home country is that I can Grab down and kick a fuss if I’m not happy with the results.

  3. Congrats @JiaYuXOX, your results look great! Namu was in my list for threadlift and fg but I came across a negative review by @ifterms where his (her?) partner has permanent brow loss and bad scarring after a brow lift procedure by Dr. Kirk. Worse, they just cut and paste her signature into another document with an additional sentence on gag order which wasn’t in the original contract. Sounds pretty unorthodox to me... I scared ... Thread’s here if you wanna read it, https://beautyhacker.com/forums/topic/1003985-permanent-brow-loss-and-bad-scarring-at-namu/.

  4. There seems to be some protrusion but I agree that we should not jump into 2-jaw flippantly because it is a very dangerous surgery. If you’re really considering it, please go to a certified and experience maxillofacial surgeon. I couldn’t see your teeth and bite from the pictures, but there’re other things like braces and orthodontics to consider before you dive into the deep end of the ocean. If you look at Let Me In - Korean PS reality TV, 2-jaw can really drastically improve a person’s appearance. But that’s on TV, and in reality, people die on the operating table or are left permanently disabled because of it. So, unless you have a bite issue and the pros outweigh the cons, it’s not worth taking the risks imho.

  5. There’s honestly nothing wrong with you, but then again, many of us undergo procedures just to look a bit better. Difference is, only do it for yourself and not for others. Surgeries are no joke, so only go under the knife if you’re absolutely sure. Again, for yourself NOT others! I think you could benefit from a healthy diet, exercising, a new hair cut, and maybe fold down your shirt collar? You have big eyes, double eyelids, decent nose, good face symmetry, no overly prominent square jaw... have more confidence and hit the gym, you’ll be surprised how much you’ll feel and look better when you shed some pounds. Cheers!

  6. Just an update, I paid a deposit for lower facelift at View but in the end I chicken out. I don’t think I’m mentally ready to do yet another super invasive procedure so I opt for thread lifts instead. However, View consultant said that they are very busy now and cannot accommodate me although I only plan to go in May...!? Nevermind loh, don’t want my business I will take it somewhere else. I also realized that Dr. Lee Dong Chan has moved from View to DAPRS. Maybe they’re short-handed or are they getting more and more popular? Anyway, it has been 2 weeks and I’m still waiting for them to refund my deposit.

The search for threadlifts + fats graft begins! Please share any good docs, tqvm.

  7. I’m reviving this thread because I’m also looking at threadlifts and fats graft. Which clinic did ya’ll go in the end? I was quite sold on MVP based on missorange’s reviews until I read niniwowo’s post. Regen did my first fat graft and touch-up, it’s not bad and lasted about 2-3 years. However, another forumer mentioned that Dr. Oh did quite a bad job for her threadlifts and she’s left with dents on her face. I’m looking for a clinic/dr. that can do both well. Any recommendations?

  8. Thanks for reading my blog and I hope that you’re recovering well! I think the most important thing is to be patient and stay positive. While most bruises will subside within the first 2 weeks, residual swelling can take months to resolve. The road to recovery is always not easy so it’s probably a good idea not to nitpick at this point. These were some of the things I did to reduce swelling:
    - took arnica (SINECCH surgical recovery regimen) before and after surgery
    - propped head up during bedtime
    - used ice packs religiously especially during the first 72 hours
    - wore constriction face/head band as long as I could

I was on full liquid diet for the first 10 days to minimise jaw/face movement - milo, 3-in-1 cereal, pumpkin and pineapple juice which have excellent anti-inflammatory properties, soup, packets of pumpkin, red bean, sweet potato purée sold at Regen’s pharmacy. Then I graduated to eating really soft food like porridge, chawanmushi, even sponge cake.

It’s also a good idea to take strolls or slow walks everyday to help with swelling and speed up recovery, but do avoid anything that’s too strenuous. Good luck for your recovery!

  9. So I was surfing the net fervently and I came across this article, ‘10 Best English Speaking Plastic Surgery Clinics in Seoul’, by 10 magazine. I’m quite surprised at the mention of some of the clinics, which are seldom heard (*) in this forum. They are:

    1. *ME Cosmetic Clinic
    2. Banobagi
    3. *Mind
    4. *Atop
    5. *Mina
    6. JW
    7. The Line
    8. Item
    9. Regen
    10. ID

Some of the big names are ‘blacklisted’ as shared by a no. of forumers here. I’m just wondering do ya’ll have legit reviews for Mind and Atop? I paid the deposit for View a long long time ago but I’m in the process of getting a refund because the consultant said that the clinic is too busy now?! Ok...

  10. I had zygoma reduction and vline 3 years ago, and this much I can tell you. Be prepared for nerve damage, it’s very real. Until today, my chin is still numb. There are also dents in my jawline where the bones are taken out which give the appearance of ‘sagging’ jawline. A lot of my friends don’t notice unless I point it out, but to me, it’s as obvious as daylight. I wouldn’t call it a botched surgery though, rather, these are some of the things to be expected. Perhaps the thread starter just had her surgery and with swelling still present, it’s really hard to tell. But hear from someone who is already 3 years post surgery, and think about the risks long and hard. Overall, I still think that I look good from certain angles and lighting. It’s up to you but you better believe the risks of nerve damage, dents and sagging where your bones used to be.

  11. I did an update on my consult in March 2017 where Banobagi recommended elasticum. Said to last 3-5 years. The cost is around 8 mil which is the same as short-scar facelift or partial rhytidectomy. Then I ask myself: would I pay the same price for something that last for 10 years or max 5 years (could be shorter)? Granted there’s less visible scars, but elasticum is non-absorbable, which means complications may also be high. The thread could be taken out, but there goes 8 million. Plus, there’s no real study on LT efficacy. I found an article here but the study is only on 3 months post-op. https://synapse.koreamed.org/Synapse/Data/PDFData/2014AAPS/aap

Thanks for letting me know where Dr Lee moved to. I was seriously considering him if not for the ridiculous price tag from April31 last time, I think was 11-13mil or something like that for just partial rhytidectomy.

  12. No, I have not thought about breast surgery. I just went for consults at April 31. Anyway the dr who is supposedly very good at lifting left April 31 already. I’ve also decided to go with View, because Dr Yun’s technique goes behind the ear targus, which has less visible scarring than some doctor who goes in front of the targus. In addition, View has given me a very competitive package, with some conditions.

  13. I decide on View. Compared to Regen, View’s technique has less visible scars. Regen’s go in front of the ear tragus while View’s go behind. View has also given me a very good price, which I can’t really reveal, because it’s really based on individual’s condition and negotiation...

  14. I just did consult. Decided to go with View, and planning the surgery probably next year or in two years’ time. Still a little concern about the visible scars around the ears, although all doctors said would be hardly visible when healed, so wanna make sure my skin is more aged and the benefits of the facelift far outweigh the risks of scars.

  15. In the end I choose View. But I won’t be going this year. But within in another year’s or two time. I can’t recommend a rhinoplasty surgeon in SG cause I did mine in Korea at Banobagi with Dr Lee. My nose is still not perfect but I caution against the pursuit of perfection. There’s remarkable improvements and I’m just going to stop at that.

  16. I've regained some sensation yes, but it's still numb. I doubt I will recover all, which is part-and-parcel of this surgery and something I'm willing to accept. I don't think I have facial sagging resulting from the surgery. I think Regen and doctor Oh is trustworthy. The clinic is also very responsive post, which is a very good sign.

  17. So, it's been 3 weeks since I came back Korea from my undereye transconjuctival fats repositioning, which I'll probably start a new thread since this thread is about facelifting after facial contouring. I actually flew in a few days earlier before my eye surgery so that I can consult a few clinics about facelifting (thread/acculift/rhytidectomy). Here goes my consultations with:

Banobagi - Dr Barn's technique is quite unique. Incision inside the hairline and above the temples to insert undissolvable thread (elasticum) and cut off any excess skin. No visible scars at all. Attractive? Think again, it's still a variation of threadlift and only last 3 years or so they claimed. Cost 7-8million. BTW, did my primary rhinoplasty and revision with them and still not very satisfied.

April 31 - Brian made Dr Lee sounds like the best there is ever, in the whole of SK. Short scar method with part of the incisions behind the tragus to reduce visible scars in front of the ear. Did not suggest acculift at first though, until I asked. (I asked cause View suggested it). I might have choosen Dr Lee if not for the cost. It's a whooping 13-14milion! I don't print money leh, don't anyhow dok me can?!

View - Dr Yun's incisional method sounds the same as April31. Plus, he rightfully suggested some acculift around the corners of my mouth for best results, which was corroborated by Dr Lee later. The cost is 8million for the partial rhytidectomy and 2million for acculift, but I can get XX% discount. Sorry ah, cannot reveal the percentage as it may vary with individual's negotiation skills. :P View really fits my budget, especially after the discount. My only concern is ... not many reviews on Dr Yun Chang Woon' facelift.

Regen - Yes, of course I consult with Regen. Dr Oh did quite a good job with my zygoma, vline and fats graft last year. Well, he said my face looks ok (of course he'll say that) and let's see the results after the fats graft touch-up if facelift is indeed needed. But he did say his Rhytidectomy technique has incisions in front of the targus, which I prefer to be behind to minimize visible scaring.

In terms of pricing and technique, View is topping my list. Can anyone with positive/negative experience with View/Yun Chang Woon please share so that I can carve my decision on stone? Thanks all the babes and hunks here!

  18. Unfortunately, yes, it's can sometimes be difficult to get a response from the clinic if we're overseas patients. 100% they will say it's swelling or will resolve over time if you raise your concerns within 6 months or less. After that they will say things like they didnt touch the area, there's already inherent asymmetry, and things like that. I'm not saying all are like that but a lot are like that. I experienced this myself too ...

  19. April31 sounds really good from all the positive reviews in this forum. But that's only from this forum. I just came back from Korea a week ago and I went to April31 for consultation. Here are my observations:
    - they're in a building that's almost vacant, it's a little unsettling
    - Brian is very friendly, fantastic salesperson, can really bring up the clinic & surgeons, very chatty and really talks a lot ...
    - the clinic mixed up my appointments though and in the end I didnt get to see the doctor and had to go back then next day
    - the receptionist don't smile at all, hardly greets, I don't feel welcome
    - the price is super duper high, rev rhino is around 7m and mid+lower facelift is 13m ... it's almost twice as expensive as all the rest of the clinics.
    - not known as a place to give discount

IDK... The doctors may be good but the price is simply off the roof. They seem to want to act atas and I'm not even sure they want my business. It's like if I want I go to them, if not, it's ok, it's my loss not theirs. Then maybe I will just give the business to another doctor/clinic who's more keen and humble?
