Is that a preference you have or just something you are considering? I don't think it matters so much as plastic surgery isn't quite the same as more niche medical knowledge. Like you wouldn't want to go to a general doctor for a spine issue, you want to do to a spine specialist.

Have you been in touch with the doctor at that clinic? I would start there. I wouldn't just rely on what you find online for any clinic. It is best to actually get in touch and don't settle on just contacting one. Contact a few you like the sound of. Get a feel for what they offer and how they handle foreign patients. Some do this better than others!

This is actually very common. A lot of people will seek out non-surgical options first which works great for some but not for everyone. It depends on your age and what you want to see improved. I think it is better for people under 35 to explore these options but for middle-age and older, surgery is often needed for lasting results.

I know someone through Facebook that had dental work in Korea, I could ask her what her experiences were. She went back in 2023.

I had a few and they went very well. I had to wait awhile to speak with the doctor in a video chat though at one of the clinics. He was extremely busy and was only able to give me maybe 20 minutes of his time which is very understandable. At this clinic, there were two days a week where they didn't do surgeries and focused on consultations both in person and online. The in person ones from my understanding ran about 30 to 40 minutes and the online ones were 10 to 20 minutes.

So you want a neck lift and a partial face lift from the sound of it. You can start with that by looking into the top rated clinics or doctors in South Korea for those particular surgeries. You will likely end up with a sizable list but it can help you narrow things down.

Thanks everyone. I was just curious. I am not sure what my friend's sister will do but I will mention the Texas thing. Maybe she already knows about it, who knows. I mean there are clinics that offer help but it is so expensive, it is insane!

I have traveled with kids to a few places and Korea was one that honestly gave me the least amount of trouble. Obviously you don't want to take kids into adult spaces or try to request accommodations for kids in such places. That is rude. But in terms of clinics and aftercare, a lot of them will help ladies that have to travel with children. Just have to ask ahead of time.

I know they offer gender-affirming procedures and a lot of trans people have gone to Korea for these surgeries because they are more affordable. I am curious if they offer anything to help correct things people regret having done. Someone I work with has a sister that would like to get work done to correct previous gender-affirming surgeries but she is having trouble finding any clinic that does this where her sister can afford it. It seems like only America and some areas of Europe even have doctors that help with this. I feel like for any kind of cosmetic surgery, there should be a means for it to be reversed in the same clinic or it should not be offered. Like breast implants, for example. If a clinic offers them, they should also offer their removal. I don't want to get into the politics of the topic so please do not turn my thread into that. I am just asking so I can help a work friend.

There are ways to check outside of reviews online. A lot of reviews can be faked! I have seen plenty on places like Amazon when just shopping. You can just check the medical board in Korea to make sure the doctors are certified.

They can be but not always. I was talking to someone about this a few months ago. I think the mark-up tends to be down to needing different approaches to surgeries. Western features are not the same as Asian ones.

I am just wondering if there is a better/worse time of the year to go to Korea for work. I don't really see anyone mention the weather. I am not sure how it is over there at all. I have been to Japan and I know they have Hurricane seasons. Are there any weather conditions I should be aware of when planning a trip to Korea?

I don't know if 10 days would be enough. That is going to be a very tight trip as mentioned above. Everything I looked into said to plan for at least 2 weeks but upward of 3 or even 4 depending on the surgery!

I am narrowing down my options and of the clinics I have looked at and the doctors I have viewed information on, Young Kyu Pak sounds like a very experienced doctor. It seems to be a clinic that is used to working on non-Korean women as well which was a concern I had. Has anyone been to this location in recent years to have work done?
