   Hi all,

I have been thinking about plastic surgery since October 2019 and been researching for a few months now. Originally, my plan was to go in May 2020 but things changed and now I have 3.5 weeks left before my trip. By the way, I dont get any discount for writing this because my trip not even start yet and I haven't talked to any clinic in person yet, so, plz don't.

Today, I decided to write this post to begin sharing my journey and hopefully it can help some people. I know there are fake reviews everywhere, thats why I decided to start this topic early and will update frequently. This is also my one and only review on the Internet. I am in a few Kakaotalk group chats and I use my Kakao ID as my display name here, so feel free to add me in Kakaotalk if you want. Also looking for PS buddies as I will be travel alone and may be we can support each other through the tough healing process.

In October, when I got so hype about the idea of getting PS, I watched shit load of PS reviews on Youtube and as a result I ended up to contact a medical tour agency through email. They replied me, suggested 4 big names that I believe everyone knows : Banobagi, ID, View, Cinderella. None of them ended up in my shortlist though and main reasons are: big factory type of hospitals, rumors of shadow doctors, botches stories or just being expensive. After few days of researches I decided not to go with a medical tour agency or any agent because: I ve been to SK twice, it is easy to travel around with subway system, many clinics got English translators/consultants, and simply I can get cheaper quote if i go direct to clinics plus going with agent will limited your choice.

Later on, I went on Purse Forum, Kakao, Realself etc.. and online consulted with over 30 clinics. I changed my mind a lot in the first month of researching because everyday I will discover more reviews (both fake and real lol) and more clinics. I think talking with people on Kakao and seeing their real results day by day had the most impact on my shortlisted clinics. Also get a lot of tips to prepare for consults, surgeries and recover from people there so I suggest if you dont have Kakaotalk yet, install it and join some of these group chats.

A bit about me, I never have any PS before so this will be my first trip. I have a slight hump on my nose, bulbous tip and my alar a bit wide. My eyelids are thin line and not even, left side drop a bit over my lashes. Face wise, I dont have super big cheekbone but my lower jaw is a bit square, nerves seem to be low, also have double chin and lot of fat on my face. I was supposed to lose some weight before the trip in May but now I have only 3 weeks so chin lipo is a must.

What kind of procedures Im looking at and aesthetic style:

  - Eyes: double eyelids, dolly and outline style, want permenant result,  dont want epi but lower cantho and may be lateral if dr said ok.

  - Nose: prefer no silicone, natural style with a slight curve on the bridge, dont want osteotomy if possible but might need hump removal.

  - FC: dont want zygoma, want natural result, no pointy chin, prefer less aggressive method if possible, chin lipo.

Now let's get to the main point of today - my shortlisted clinics, their specialities and quotes.

1- The Face Dental (10% VAT not included):

Speclised in Double Jaw, V-line, Genio, Zygoma.

     Aesthetic style: Natural

Reasons I consider TFD : 1.Haven't heard of any botch from dr Lee yet. 2. Price for V-line is very reasonable. 3. Dr. Lee is high skilled and ethical at the same time = safe. 4. 1 doctor : 1 in house anesthesiologist = safe.

Online quotes: 4.4 - 6.6mil V-line, 2mil dissolvable pin, 2mil chin lipo and muscles reduction.

Note: He doesnt do eyes and nose, only face contour. He runs his own Kakao chat and you can consult with him directly there. Some of his media platforms and his website might be run by a lady name Olivia and don't go through her, she is a bit not clear about the price since she will take commision.

2- Wannabe ( 10% VAT not included):

    Specialised: not sure

    Aesthetic style: Natural

Reasons I consider : 1. Havent seen any botch. 2. Price in general is reasonable. 3. Small clinic, seems to be popular among locals

     Online quotes: - Mini V-line 6mil, Full V-line 6.5mil

                                - Primary DES start from 2.1mil, Ptosis 0.6mil, Lateral Cantho 1mil, Loweing Cantho 1.3mil

                                - Primary Rhino 3.3mil, currently has promotion for 2.65mil on Instagram

                                - Accusculpting per area 1.5mil

Note: Alice is the English consultant, she is quite nice. Claimed that they use Resorbable screw for all V-line.

3- Braun:

Specialised in FC ( Dr. Kim Tae Gyu) and Rhino/revision rhino (Dr. Kim Gui Rak)

     Aesthetic style: I dont know

Reasons I consider: 1. Real review - One person on Kakao had a revision rhino there after a big infection from previous rhino, result came out nicely. 2. Their FC techniques.

Online quotes: - DES incision 3.5mil, Epi Cantho 1.5mil

                                 - Primary Rhino 7mil

                                 - Jaw reduction 6.5mil, zyg 6.2mil, mandiblar angle 6.5mil or 17mill full FC or 11mil V-line

                                 - Accusculpt laser 3mil

Note: quotes are very expensive but they offered  me 50% off if reservation in Oct since these quotes are from Oct.

4- Item

Specialised in Eyes (Dr. Kim Jin Sung for dolly, Dr Jung for natural)

    Aesthetic style: depends on dr.

Reasons I consider: 1. Real review - been watching someone review since consult day till now which is 3 months post op, result is on point, dr gave what she wanted. 2. B&A look a bit photoshop but look like they fix many asymetrical eyes, and my eyes are not even.

    Online quotes: - Incision des + ptosis + epi + lateral cantho = 4.8mil

                               - Rhino bridge + tip + alar = 6.3mil

                               - Jaw reduction 4.6mil

                               - Chin implant 2.6mil, Thread lift 3.2mil

Note: I didnt ask for V-line quote, only long curve mandiblar cut. Sally is the English consultant and she wont break down the price, everything price wise jsut have to discuss in f2f consult.

5- Premier:
Specialised in Eyes (Dr Jang), Nose (Dr. Choi)

     Aesthetic style: dramatic

Reasons I consider: 1. Keep hearing about dr Jang work and love their B&A eyes. 2. Found 1 patient had same nose like me and her result is what i want too .

Online quotes: - someone got quote 5.5mil for primary rhino from f2f consult

Note: They don't have English consultant so cannot consult online, therefore, no quote. You have to bring your own translator for f2f consult. Clinic is known among locals.

6- Naturalism:

Specialised in Eyes (Dr.Go), Nose (Dr. Kim)

    Aesthetic style : Probably natural

Reason I consider: 1. People in Kakao keep talking about it and how hard to get an appointment so I assume they are worth a try. 2. I like their natural nose style as Premier is too dramatic when Wannabe is too little change from front profile, I feel Naturalism can balance between the two.

Online quotes: - the same person got quote in Premier I mentioned above came here and get 4.5mil quoted for her primary rhino

Note: Same as Premier, they dont have an English consultant.

I am trying to organise my consultation booking at the moment, my translator is helping with appointments at Premier and Naturalism. Flight tickets and accomodation booked and paid. Currently I am focusing on making my own questions list for consultation plus collecting photos to show doctors.

I will try to update this topic after all the consultations. Thanks.

thanks for sharing your research so far, great work! I'm just starting to really narrow down my list of clinics and your insight has been very informative. I'm wondering if you have a recommendation for translators? Looking forward to reading about your experience and feel free to add me on Kakao (chubbybun)

I do have a translator who got recommended from a plastic surgery patient in kakao. She looks mature and is a qualified licensed medical translator, she showed me her governement liscense. I will see how I go with her and let you know.

hi @Jenny01990! I'm interested in a lot of the same procedures so I'll be following this 🙂 btw, have you looked into EU Dental for FC? I've seen some good reviews about them (can't vouch for their veracity ofc though). Good luck!!

I online consulted with EU after seeing 1 real review in one of the kakao group. I believe that person already write a review in this forum already.

Service wise, from what I heard, they are capable of doing dramatic result which dr Lee from TFD can also do but not preferably. And their post op is way better compare to TFD, because at TFD if you only get V-line you dont get 1 night hospitalised unless u request and pay extra 200k-300k for it. However, this is because TFD is really affordable so they only provide that with extra charge ( double jaw patients still get 2 night no extra fee at TFD).

Price wise for EU, much more expensive V-line is 11mil and just jaw reduction (no T-osteotomy or genioplasty ) is 6m. Deposit fee is 500k. Cancelation policy 100% refund if cancel 1 week advance, 90% if 3 days in advance. They told me they can offer discount if Im willing to be a model for them 😝 . I also heard from other people that they can give discount up to 40% if u agreed to model and write review.

In the end, why i dont choose them? Because Dr Lee can also do dramatic but he will always priority safety first which is known by many people. And price is matter too.

  Hi guys,

Sorry for this late update. I've been super busy with my personal life and been quite stressful during this time. So will try to provide as much information as I can regarding my trip and update few photos.

Note before you read: translator doesnt give you price, they only translate. Consultant is the one give you the quote and you will bargain with. You dont bargain directly to the doctor even at TFD. I have separate my review in a few posts so it is easy to read. Review of the surgery day and post op with Wannabe and TFD will be separated.

Regarding f2f consultations and quotes:

1- Top Face: Dr. Shim

Eyelids: They suggested or they said they can do in-outfold or small outfold eyelids for my eyes. I also need Ptosis and will be incision method, quoted 2.6mil. I also asked if I am a candidate for cantho and they said lower cantho and lateral can be done with 0.9 mil each or 1.5mil for both. They also recommend fat repositioning under my eyes which is 2.6m.

Nose: Suggested 2.5 to 3mm silicone for my nose bridge, nose tip will be raised with septal and ear cartilage + need alar reduction : price range given at 4.2 to 4.5mil

My personal feel: I dont like it and I was right. I dont remember the name of the translator anymore but she is just translator not consultant, her English is not good, Dr Shim is probably better English then her. At this stage, I was not confident with them and knowing that I still have better options at other clinics consultations later on. During the time in Korea I had a chance to meet in person with Alice, she had her nose done at Top Face and she didnt recommend it. When she came back to Top Face this trip seeking for advice for a revision she got turn away with the Covid-19 excuse. However, this excuse is not true as they just see me for consult the day before. I feel they just get the money and avoid you when problem come.

2- Item: Dr. Kim

This clinic is number 2 busy in my list coz they are very busy. Reception and waiting area is small but i constantly see at least 10 patients/customers there.

Eyelids: They recommended me Incision + lateral + lowering cantho for 3mil, 1 hr operation, no ptosis needed. I am quite confident with Dr. Kim for my eyes consult and I've seen his work before too.

Nose:  Alar reduction, tip, and bridge with 3 or less than 3mm silicone in 1.5hr operation for 5.8mil. 300k deposit and if cancel 4 days in advance you get 100% refund.

My decision: i did a lot of research and my mind is pretty set on not doing Alar reduction this trip. So when I asked Dr. Kim and showed him the nose style I wanted he insisted on alar reduction, this is one reason why I didnt go with him. Another reason is bargaining. The translator English is very good but she is not the consultant. The consultant is a mature lady, middle age, she is tough to bargain with. I know a couple of people and their quotes with Item, my case is considering to be easy too so when they refuse to give me any discount at all even if I pay by cash, it kinda turned me off.

3- Hyundai: Dr Hwang Ho for eyes and Dr Kim Jong Ku for nose

     Eyes: incision des + ptosis = 2.5mil, dual cantho = 2mil.

Nose: silicone bridge, tip with septal and ear cartilage and hump removal, no alar reduction = 4mil

Bargain price: total is 8.5mil, if pay cash is 7mil, if agree to do photo review and cash at the same time is 5.9mil

Post operation treatment: Oxygen heal light, deswelling injection, medication, facial sheet masks, and send off to airport when u leave the country

My opinion: Sky is the translator and consultant. Her English is not that great but she is a nice person. She is very soft and I dont even have to bargain much to get that price ( that is the cheapest price in all the clinics I consulted btw). The minus point when it come to Hyundai is their website is very limited of b&a photos so I am not very sure about it. They do have photobooks at the clinic though. Regarding the nose doctor, I heard from Sky that their nose specialist left the clinic so this Dr. Kim is new here and in the consultation he is kinda give me the arrogant feeling. I dont like that and I also didnt have much research about him so I dont want to do with him. So despite the lowest price, I decided not to go with Hyundai because I want to do nose and eyes at one place ( limited time for the trip, only 17 days for eyes, nose and V-line)

4- Premier: Dr Jang for eyes, Dr Choi for nose

I wasted time and money here. It was so high in my list and I was so disappointed. Please do your research.

There is not much to talk about what the doctor recommend beacuse they just basicly say yes they can do it. Technically, yes for everything, very money driven. This is a super busy clinic, litteraly 50 people in there and not enough seats. I only got lest than 5min with each doctor. I can tell that the doctors just quickly get out of the surgery and rush everything. When I was still questioning the Nose doctor , he said sorry, he had to go back to his surgery. And yet their price is expensive for 5min consult.

    Eyes = 6mil

Nose = 5mil bridge ( only hump remove, no raising bridge, if silicone on bridge then 6mil) + 4mil tip.

    Total = 15mil to 16mil

I was very shocked at this stage and I didnt even care to bargain anymore. But the consultant must see the look on my face so she discounted it to 12mil for me but I still rolled my eyes. After leaving their clinic, my translator ( you have to hire your own translator, costed me 80k for 2hours) told me that she know some people bargain hard and managed to get it down to 8.5mil. But then 8.5mil is still very expensive compare to other clinics and especially if I have to pay that much I would expect very high customer services. I heard a lot of bad reviews about Premier regarding infection control and how they make patients waiting between eyes and nose surgery in waiting area when they were still on drug.

5- Wannabe: Dr. Cha

Noted: this is where I did my eyes and nose surgery. Quote they gave to me is with tax and of course there is discount if without tax ( cash payment)

   Eyes: Incision des 1.87mil + Ptosis 1.32mil = 3.19 mil ( with tax)

Nose: Rhinoplasty (bridge and tip) 2.86mil + hump removal 1.1mil + short nose correction 1.1mil = 5.06 ( with tax)

Total price is 8.25mil but they happy to waive that 0.25 so it is 8mil and after discount 10% tax is 7.2mil.

It is still higher than my budget so I asked if I agree to do photo consent and review to get a better price and I got 6mil at the end for both Nose and Eyes.

10 % deposit and post treatment care including heal light, shampoo services, 1 deswelling shot and medication.

My decision: Dr Cha was very informative during the consultation. I wanted outfold for my eyelids and he was very honest saying it will not be easy and not necessary suit me. He used his tool and create the crease in different styles and showed me why and why not with each style. Also I already know I want natural results and he is known for natural results too so I was quite confident at this stage. Alice is the consultant and translator, she is by far the best English speaking consultant I have met. I will go into details in later post regarding the surgery day and the post op stage.

Summary, you learned a lot when you go to consultation so please do you research and dont rush. I regreted not to be able to book with Mate PS due to time limit ( I only heard about it on the day I arrived in Seoul) and Naturalism is impossible to book with.

TFD review - surgery date 1st Feb 2020 at 1pm

Consultation:

I did research beforehand and put down 1mil deposit to secure the date with Dr Lee before my trip since I didn't want to risk it because of time limitation.

During consultation, Dr Lee ( can speak English very clearly) asked me what I want to achieve and I said: " I want my face to still be slim even when I am fat " LMAO. However guys, this is not possible lol. They took my x-ray OPG and CT scan earlier on the day and Dr Lee able to draw on his computer screen to show me where he gonna cut/shave. Also showed me the option for the dissolvable pins as I requested. I showed him the picture of a model so he can get an idea of what I expected as well.

Price: pretty sure everyone heard about the ajumma, she is a middle age lady who can speak a little bit English, very nice person and is who you gonna bargain with. Please see the picture I attached for the price break down and explaination. Also I gave the ajumma 60k before the surgery so she can buy medication for me, she gave me back the receipt and changes later on. Also paid for the taxi to go back to the guesthouse around 5k. Total cost of my V-line surgery with dissolvable pins + 3 wisdoms removal + chin lipo + muscles reduction = 8.5mil

Operation day: Nervous, nervous and nervous ( I was alone in Korea and this is my first time GA). I went through a short meeting with dr Lee again to make sure we were in the same page. Then went with ajumma to pay for the rest of the money. After that, I got changed and take the lift to the basement where the surgery happenned. Dr Lee was not in the room at that time, after injected me, they wrapped me up ( so you can stay still the whole procedure), knocked out instantly. Next thing I knew, I heard someone called my name and they told me it was over. I was struggled and trying to escape ( human instinct when u are trapped and have no control over your body). They carried me to the wheel chair and for some reason when I opened my eyes again I was already in bed, in there recovery room. Surgery time booked at 1pm. Woke up at recovery room at 5pm. Then they told me I have to stay awake till 9.30pm. This was the hardest part, the drug was still in my body and I couldn't open my eyes. Everytime the nurse asked me how I feel I said I want to sleep so in the end they let me sleep for a bit. Woke up again around 9pm and threw up blood twice. I felt like shit and I started worry about going back to the guesthouse. So I asked the nurse if I can stay for one night but it was Saturday night and I didn't book for it so I think they didn't allocate any staff to stay that night. I rested a bit more and actually felt much better later on as the drug slowly leaving my system. Ajumma called a taxi for me eventhough I lived only 3 min walking from the clinic. The senior nurse who lookef after me that night and ajumma, I could not thank them enough. I can feel that they are very sincerely and that they understand my struggle of being there alone.

Recovery stage: I was not in pain but struggling to sleep since I am so used to sleep on the side. You have to sleep face up and wear the compression band all the time until later on. Also the medication, ajumma ask me if I want tablets or powder, I chose powder because someone I knew in Kakao struggle with the tablets before. Powder is very very bitter. Soft diet only so I only ate congee, soups, yogurt, milk tea. Drank 2 pouches of pumpkin juice and skipped the rest coz I didnt like the taste. Day 3 was peak swollen but it was expected. Talking was not easy at first as I didnt want to open my mouth much ( can only open 2 fingers). I got bruises around my neck and my cheeks but no pain. I went back to see dr Lee often to clean up around the stitches ( no brushing teeth for first few days) and get the deswelling light. The stitches are dissolvable on its own and it started to fall out after the second week. Honestly, V-line recovery is very easy for me compared to eyes and nose later on.

P/S: I wont show my before and after photo of my whole face because I gained weight during quarantine. Please dont upload my photos anywhere else.

Wannabe review - surgery date 8th Feb 2020

Pre operation: I freaked out 3 or 4 days before the surgery. I was very certain about doing my eyes but im not sure about nose since there is no going back once you touch your nose. Later on in your life is you have a accident and break your nose, hmmm this kind of thing worry me. So I messaged Alice a lot and almost cancel nose surgery but Alice eas very nice and patience. I went in for a chat with her went back with peace in mind.

Operation day: As Wannabe is a small clinic, all their room is quite small actually. The surgery room is not that impressive but i doesnt matter to me that much. They shaved my nose hair and clean my nosetrils for the surgery, I dont like it at all, that nose hair shaving was very uncomfy. I got injected to do my eyes first. Different people might experience different things. I personally went on a colorful trip and next thing I heard was when dr Cha asked me to open my eyes and look at his finger. He asked me to close and open my eyes multiple times to check if my eyelids symetrical and adjusted it. I was very naughty this time because I always have sensitive eyes so my eyeballs move around a lot, lol. I can tell how detailed he is because he spent a lot of time doing this. It made me feel like he is really looking for perfection. After that, I went to sleep again as they moved to my nose. Then I woke up again by myself ( no one called me, I just happened to wake up, probably because the drug wore off), I felt like I was drunk so I said to them: " Hey! you guys know I'm awake yeah?!" lmao. When I felt a little pinching I told them and they injected me more but localised to my nose only ( it was not nice). I could feel the stitches touch my nose and lips, made me itchy lol. Once the surgery done, they helped me walk to the recovery room, just a feel step and I was wide awake at that time, kept checking my face and taking pictures and messaging on Kakao. I actually felt great after the surgery compared to GA recovery from V-line. I went back to the guesthouse after 1 hour since it is only 2 min walk back to where I stayed.

Recovery stage: recovery was not very nice I would say. I could not sleep properly because i have to sleep face up and my nose was blocked with the packing gauze.  I ended up sneeze a lot and the packing came out so I messaged Alice and she said it was only to stop the bleeding, no bleeding no need so that night I took it off at 4am ( could not stand it at all). Also share room with a very rude Chinese girl, she complained that I snore but sorry, I couldnt help it, I was tired after surgery and my nose was blocked, I dont know wtf she was thinking anymore. So if you want a peaceful recovery dont share room with strangers.  Wannabe gave medication and oitment to put on the stitches ( eyelids, nose and behind my left ear stitches) but it was not enough so I came back for more oitment. Stitches removed at day 6 by one of the senior nurses. It was a bit of a pinch when she did my eyelids but nose was fine. Note that nose stitches had 2 types, one was removed there and one was dissolvable type. For some reason, this one took ages to dissolve compare to the V-line one, and it caused me trouble later on. One of the dissolvable stitches stick out of my nose too much and whenever I wiped my nose ( from sneezing), I would touch it and irritated it so I got an infection after I came back to my country. My right nostril where that dissolvable stitch got swollen and bit of white pax came out. I contacted Alice straightaway and she suggested me to see a GP to get antibiotic prepcription and also get the remain dissolvable stitches remove by a local doctor but I could find any doctor here to do that for me. However, after 1 week on antibiotic oitment, problem solved and the stitches dissolved nicely after that. I am now very happy with the result.

My recommendation to everyone:

   - I do wish that I did alar reduction too but if I do I will not be that natural result anymore so I will wait. Keep in mind that less is more, I can always come back to do alar reduction later on rather than do it together and regret , you can not put that piece of flesh they removed back. Do your research, and dont rush. What to research? First, research different styles, know what style you want, understand your limitation in result ( all surgery has limitation, you wont look like an angel at the end, you gonna have to work around what your parents give you), research the doctors who are famous for your styles, their results, the clinics they worked/working for. Research and save a lot of ur goal photos but coming in consultation with openmind (the person in your photos might already has good starting point).

  - Come with someone for support, dont go alone like me. If you just do some easy and fast procedure then may be it is fine to go alone but if you have multiple surgeries and multiple consultations, go with friends or family might help. I am a strong person, left my home country and family since 18 yr old and did all of this alone was actually not that great feeling to me. The consultations confused me, the recovery after GA was bad, needed to walk around for deswelling but was lonely.

 - If you have to go alone and trying to save money, hostel or guesthouse is fine, too cheap is not the problem, the problem is sharing with stranger. You dont know who they are and how they react to your surgery. You dont need a bitch complain about you during your recovery because what you need is peace and support.

  - Make some friends and meet people with like minded (aka people who also come for PS). During this trip, because I went alone so I met a lot of friends from Kakao PS group chat, some just recently had surgery done, some was still consulting, it was great to be able to talk to people and know that you are not the only one going through this.

I hope this might help some people. Im not that active in Kakao anymore as I am very busy busy with work and personal life at the moment so I might not answer on Kakao. I will check the forum once in awhile to answer any question but please dont ask the same question over and over. Also i just want to clarify that I will also copy my post here to Purse forum as I wish to help more people, but I can guarantee that I am not a promoter lol.
