Extra time before surgery

For those of you who have gone to Korea for surgeries, did you allow for extra time before the surgery date? By this, I mean did you allow yourself to have a few days to a week to get settled and enjoy Korea before you got your work done. I am just thinking I might do this just in case I don't feel well enough after my surgery to go out.

So my sister recently went. Like real recent, she just got back  last week. I have not seen her in person yet as we live in different areas but I was chatting with her on the phone about her trip. She did plan ahead and gave herself an entire week to have a vacation. Then the surgery week. Then a week following that. So her total trip was 22 days I think.

A lot of people in Korea get work done and walk around with bandages and swollen faces. People tend not to care because they are used to seeing people like this. But if you are concerned with how you feel more than how you look, you can go a bit earlier to have to time to do things.

I think this sounds like a good idea. Even if you don't need the extra time, it helps to get to know the area before you go under the knife. You don't want to be lost or confused and have bandages all over you face, making it harder to talk to people!
