Conflicting reviews. Help, I'm stuck! (genioplasty, Facial Contouring, Under eye Repositioning)

I've been researching facial surgery in Korea for months now, and honestly I'm starting to feel overwhelmed.

Every time I think I've found a good surgeon or clinic, I come across reviews telling me to avoid them. The reviews are often completely contradictory, and it's difficult to know which before and after photos or testimonials are genuine. Every day I seem to be adding and subtracting to a never ending list.

There is so much conflicting information that it's becoming hard to know who to trust. Since this is my face, the stakes feel incredibly high.

I'm sure part of this is because I'm still new to the process, so I was hoping those with more experience could help answer a few questions.
 

• Do medical concierge agencies typically recommend only their partner clinics? If so, is that something I should be cautious about, or is it generally considered normal?
• Besides Reddit, what communities or forums have you found most helpful? I've looked at KakaoTalk groups, UNNI, Gangnam Unni, and a few others, but I still find them a bit difficult to navigate.
• What would you consider a reasonable price range for:
  • Sliding genioplasty
  • Facial contouring (V-line, Mini Line, Etc.) 
  • Under-eye fat repositioning
• If I became friends with someone who lives in Korea, would they be able to negotiate prices on my behalf, even if I'm the one having the surgery? I am happy to compensate them for their time. I'm more concerned about hearing that some medical concierges will not bargain for you because they pocket the difference. 

I'd also love any recommendations for surgeons, clinics, or medical concierge services that you've had a genuinely positive experience with. If there are any doctors you feel consistently produce natural, high-quality results, or anyone you think I should absolutely avoid. I would really appreciate hearing about your experience and why.

I know everyone's goals are different, but hearing from people who have actually gone through the process would mean a lot. Any advice, recommendations, or lessons you wish you'd known before starting your own journey would be incredibly appreciated. Thank you so much for taking the time to help.

It can be overwhelming. Going to another country for plastic surgery takes a lot of research and planning, I know! 

In terms of recommendations, I find that you will always find conflicting information. This is because some people are happy with their results and others are not. You will find this with local ones too. Like I am in the US for example and I can find the same conflicts for local plastic surgery clinics too. The best advice I can give you is to contact any plastic surgery clinic you have interest in and speak with them directly. 

Prices vary too from clinic to clinic so again, you will have to speak with them directly. I can make some recommendations of the top clinics to contact. Zero One Plastic Surgery is an example that gets high praise for their structured face work and they do work with foreigners. Vava Plastic Surgery is another that focuses on eye surgery, rhinoplasty, and lifting. Pop Plastic Surgery is another, again focusing on facial work.

I would recommend compiling a list of the best clinics you can find online (ones you personally like the sound of) and contracting them for pricing as well as information for what you specifically want done. You can actually go to a local clinic first for a consultation to get a feel for it, see exactly what you want, and be better prepared to approach a Korean clinic.

Even if you became friends with a local, you won't get local prices. I have looked into this. You pay the standard costs of foreigners because the surgeries are a bit different. A lot of doctors charge more because certain facial features require more work. Korean faces have softer features.

You will find conflicting information online but I will tell you, one clinic I always see mentioned as one to avoid is AB Plastic Surgery. I have read horror stories about botched surgeries, rushed practices, and them doing things below board standards.

  Usually they work with places they partner with or vet, but you should ask why do they work with them and what's the vetting process

  Reviews are all over the place, some of the old posts in beauty hacker are helpful, but Unni, and the Korean apps are basically ads. It's best to just flip through the photos and then reach out, and consult.
   
• What would you consider a reasonable price range for:
  • Sliding genioplasty - 4M to 6M
  • Facial contouring (V-line, Mini Line, Etc.) Usually you can combine a genio with this if you do then it might be something like 8M to 15M
  • Under-eye fat repositioning   2.5M to 4.5M
• If I became friends with someone who lives in Korea, would they be able to negotiate prices on my behalf, even if I'm the one having the surgery? I am happy to compensate them for their time. I'm more concerned about hearing that some medical concierges will not bargain for you because they pocket the difference. 
  
  Are you able to afford those prices above? You can try, but some clinics won't budge because they usually keep two prices for tourists and locals. Probably just let people know your budget from the get go and see what they can put together for you.
