haha no girl u got it right. Most people who are uberly vain do that. You have no idea how many times i look at myself in the mirror and pysched myself out after each surgery. I remembered calling Daphne at an ungodly hour cos I was having a breakdown for absolutely no reason my first night post op. And she was like "ok......I'll see you in the ward tomorrow morning......I have to go now because I might wake my kids....." LOL

Hi Peach23,
Quick question:
Does Dr. Park Yang Soo specialize in eyelid surgery as well?

I think he does. But I am not sure if he produces good results. I had double suture revision with ptosis correction and I love the result. He does exactly as I requested . Outfold and tapered.

As for incisional double eyelid, my cousin met and consulted with him last year . Dr. Park flew in to my country as part of our plan to collaborate with Dream . She wanted to do revision on her incisional double eyelid. She wasn't too happy with her old eye job (dr. Woffle Wu from Singapore did hers) and Park was suggesting revision incisional method. She plans to go there sometimes this year . Stay tune if she does , I will update in this forum.

Hope that helps

The incisional specialist at Dream is Dr Yoo. He is reallllly good. Realllly accurate and pays attention to detail. BUT he does take a while to finish his surgery because he pays attention to detail so I wouldn't suggest adding another procedures which is long and invasive because when Yoo did my friend, he took like 2 hours. Results were great but time under anesthesia is something to bear in mind. Like you would ideally want to avoid being under anesthesia for 6 hours plus. One of the reasons why i opted against doing a deep tissue face lift recently is because it would require me to be under for 4 hours. Plus my fat graft and tipplasty would make the anesthesia duration too long for my comfort. Ever woke up from prolonged anesthesia? Its feels like someone bashed u over the head with a bat.

K..

Thanks for correcting me! Now I know that Dr.Yoo is the incisional specialist and thanks for sharing your friend's satisfactory result. The next time around when my cousin decides to have her incisional revision, I will definitely share this information.

So i assume when your friend was opting for incisional, the consultant sent her right away to Yoo? I was just wondering what Park would tell me if I was not a good candidate for suture. I wanted a suture from the beginning , and Park told me it can be done. But Park told my cousin that she was not a good candidate for suture. So I assume that when Park said that , he would be the one doing her incisional revision.

And you were right about prolong anaesthesia. I had rhino and double eyelid suture. I think it took me 3 hours. My sister had her face lift and it probably took her 4 hours. Not sure exactly, but i know hers is longer than mine and she was under general anesthesia. We both woke up with groggy and severe headache. Hers was worst, vomiting and headache.

K... quick question.

I am 3 week rhino post op. Is it safe to laugh freely and grin from ear to ear? I feel tight on upper lips and every time I am laughing , I feel that my columellar is push down. I don't want to risk bending my healing columellar.

Thanks!

hello

i am new to this forum therefore i can not start my own thread. But i have some concerns..i don't know you have come across with this situation before. i have already set up my plans going to korea in the middle of may to do epi, but i just realize that time i will have my period, i don' t know if i can go through the surgery or get good post-op recovery when i am having a period. i heard that it is easily going to get infected and i am so scared. I already bought my plane ticket and i do not know what to do now.

Hi nliu

You period will absolutely have no effect whatsoever on your post op results nor will it increase infection risk. I have never heard of such fact. You will be sterilized scrubbed clean with Betadine on your face, neck, back and chest right before the surgery at the operating theater and you will be put into 3 to 5 days of oral antibiotic post op.

The nurse will instruct you with what ever you need to do post op such as how to clean your face, how to put eye drop, ointment on your eyelids, how many days sans make up , how many weeks no sport , sleeping position to reduce sweling , etc..

Didn't the clinic's counselor send you pre op precaution list?

Hope this helps. good luck with your epi!

I remember studying about this. I believe there's a small percentage of women who have experience changes in their clotting factors during menstruation, which may cause a sllight increase in bleeding/bruising in major surgeries (e.g. orthopaedic surgeries). Epi is performed superficially, and hence, minimal blood loss is expected. Menstruation shouldn't be a contraindication in your case (unless you take advil religiously during your period), but as always, check with your consultant/surgeon beforehand  Oh and as for infection, I don't believe there is any evidene related to increased chances of infection and menstruation.

dear Cuma,
thank you for sharing your experiences; I've been away from this forum for a while and just saw your posts. wondering if you would mind sharing the names of the specialist rhinoplasty clinics you mentioned? I have a Chinese friend who is looking to get a primary rhinoplasty in the USA - she thinks the best rhinoplasty surgeons in the world are American. What does everyone else think about this??
Thanks

I don't think there's such a thing as the best in the world. However, I do believe there is a significant difference between the asian and western surgeons. I've had surgery in the US, in Thailand, in Australia and in Seoul. What I experience was far more satisfactory results in Seoul. It is my opinion that this has got more to do with the frequency of operations on applicable candidates. That is, because methods and requirements are different for Asian vs non asian patients, the technique used is different. The more often a surgeon performs a particular technique, the more they hone their skill in that methodology. Hence I wouldn't recommend my Caucasian friends to go to Korea, as I would not recommend my asian friends to have surgery in the US or other western countries.
