  1. I think your chin looks nice, it has a natural look, not as strong as before but I'll need to see more pics and angles to really decide. Please do link to your youtube video once it's ready, comparing video of you before/after surgery might help us tell if it really looks the same. I know of botox to the chin is used to treat that dimpled, orange peel skin look from your muscles contracting, never heard of it being used to make the chin into a v shape. If you want a sharper v chin, you could achieve it with filler now but I know you'd rather have had it permanently achieved with surgery which they didn't do. Personally I'm not a fan of that sharp pointy chin look. IMO a more rounded chin suits your face better.

  2. I would start with tip reduction and make it less upturned. I'm not sure about moving your chin forward as that would make that angle between your mouth and chin even more pronounced. Do not touch your cheekbones, they are fine. Korea is fond of obliterating cheekbones but you'll see nice defined cheekbones are a feature of many models. They'll be even more important as you age as you will lose facial fat and experience bone loss, your cheekbones will be the main structure of the midface, reducing them would just result in a more drooped facial appearance. If you do consult with any Korean clinics and they recommend reducing them, kindly pass on their suggestion. You have chubby cheeks but that's a youthful look, many get fat graft or filler to get what you have. You may lose them naturally as you age or with weight loss in case you're overweight.

  3. Thanks for sharing this review, I can only imagine how many other people who've been botched at GNG stay silent because they got paid some pittance which won't even cover half the amount of the future work they'll need to fix GNG botching them. You have possibly saved many others from getting their lives ruined by coming out, thank you. The fact you sent all those pic and printed them out to show him, including examples of what you want and don't want which I always recommend as doctors cannot read minds, it's unconscionable he removed all of your jaw angle.

Before surgery, on the wall did you see any pictures or diagrams with guidelines showing him what he was aiming for and how much bone to remove? Or was he just going by memory? Given overbooked Korean doctors operate on so many patients every day, performing the same procedures repeatedly, perhaps everyone just begins to look the same to them. A doctor can fall into a spell of just defaulting to their usual routine like a cook defaulting to their usual recipe when the ingredients are in front of him. As the consultant said, "the standard of beauty is subjective," you got the Korean beauty standard. Your jaw angle is what's requested the most in Korea and that's what Dr. Choi gave you. It's frightening a patient was so clear in their desired result and yet the doctor just did what he wanted. They should change their name from GNG Hospital to GNG Factory.

  4. So you're seeing a dermatologist? I have a few sunspots, I'm scared of scarring from laser though.

  5. I think if you read the review itself, you should be able to tell whether the review is reliable. Like you responded to peri.winkle asking if that's her in the pic in another thread, but if you read through her review you can tell she's being real and isn't just acting like some PR person hired by the clinic.

If they offer you a couple thousand off to use your pics and post a review, not forcing you to be positive, why not accept it? I don't think a doctor would base how well he/she performs a surgery on whether the pics can be used or not, as if they do a bad job the patient can make the results public on their own right? Which clinics have you heard treat you differently based on agreeing to review/pics or not?

  6. I recognize the Canadian patient from realself, she's actually pretty honest in her reviews and in her messages as well if you ask her questions.

Basically many clinics offer you a small discount off surgery if you post a review of the surgery and allow them to use your pics, who doesn't want to save a few thousand right so don't assume just because you see their pic, they can't be trusted. The reviews I don't trust are the ones written by someone from the clinic rather than the actual patient, I'm grown pretty good at spotting those now.

  7. To aid communication between patient and doctor, especially needed given English is not their first language, I'd highly recommend bringing large pictures in. Remember they can't read your mind on what you want, seeing a picture of your target will make it crystal clear to them and they should tell you whether they can achieve it or not. I'd also recommend including pictures of examples you don't want so they know that as well, in this case you'd want to show them some cases where it's too subtle.

  8. Dr. Kyungkook Hong for the record, he's the Director of that branch so he's not just a regular dermatologist on staff. It doesn't say much about them that they hired a doctor who acts as unprofessional as this, the fact he showed such disrespect to an elder speaks very poorly about his character. If you can I'd write to the owners of the clinic about this incident, your mother deserves an apology and Dr. Hong should be reprimanded for his behavior. Side note, have the dents improved by themselves? I've heard this can be a common side effect of the insertion points of the threads since they pull on the skin.

BTW regarding a clinic having a reputation for being a top clinic, I'm skeptical of putting my trust into just a clinic name as your results whether it's a plastic surgeon or dermatologist comes down to the doctor who is treating you. For clinics with multiple branches, and there are many such dermatology clinics in Korea, they employ many doctors, I'm not surprised your level of care will vary dramatically with who you get, top clinic or not. Always get a name of the actual doctor whose skilled at the treatment you are seeking.

  9. I've heard lumps can be side effect of FG but I don't normally hear many reports of that from Korean surgeons. Swelling would be the whole area, if it's just one lump I would be very concerned. What did MVP say about it? If he's a member here, can you ask him to post review of MVP? Bruising from lipo is common and should clear up in a few weeks.

  10. Thanks for the review. Good to hear an honest review like this about Fresh. The true test is how much fat remains so I look forward to reading your updates. I have some questions:

Did you go back to Fresh after the surgery? What is their followup procedure after fat grafts? Did they have any deswelling treatments you could do daily? I wonder why your face swelled so much more, whether it's due to technique or because if you add more a lot of fat that is a consequence. What is the name of the medication you got from Dr. Park? Thanks.

  11. You can see how she's lifting her left eyebrow to compensate for the ptosis in he eye, creating uneven brows and some forehead wrinkles. I wonder what caused that and how long she lived with it? Fixing that alone was huge for her looks. As for her skin, given in the after photo she has makeup and it's shopped/filtered as clinics always seem to do for after photos but never before, I'm skeptical to make any conclusions about that.

  12. Thanks! So rhino is the procedure you need to sleep with head elevated but for FG that's actually bad, good to know!

It's not a good sign you didn't receive any medication for swelling from Dr. Hong at Fresh when he saw your condition. I'm curious how you found Dr. Park's clinic, I don't think it's mentioned in this forum much? I would not know where to go if I had that problem and there are so many clinics in Korea. It's awesome you got treated by a doctor whose published on your exact problem!

  13. Hmm I thought sleeping more upright should help more with swelling since by moving your head up the blood wouldn't pool there like it would if you were laying down? For fat survival, you want to stimulate new blood vessel formation with the added fat, ice works against that since it drives blood away. So try not to overdo the icing. I look forward to reading your review of Fresh, btw I do agree her review smelled kinda sponsored, I'll be interested to read your experience and how it differed.

  14. Well done, maybe you can ask pf to remove your old posts recommending him since you were tricked? You were trusting and believed this guy was kind and just wanted to help, but as you learned everyone always has an ulterior motive. My hunch was he was either a broker or was interested in getting to know young women as no airbnb host would drive someone around for free with no strings attached.

The plastic surgery industry is huge in Korea, people want to make money off you so you need to be careful and don't trust everything you hear. This even applies to doctors as we've seen plenty of clinics recommend procedures that a person doesn't need.

  15. Good tip, I thought 5fu was just another steroid to shrink scars like cortisone and kenalog, didn't know it had a lower incidence of fat atrophy. Where ever you get it done, I would recommend doing multiple treatments over time as opposed to trying to flatten it in one injection.

  16. Where is the scar and what was it from? Is it keloid or hypertrophic scar? f you are prone to keloid scarring, I think there is risk of it forming again if you cut it out. If you get kenalog injection, make sure to verify the concentration they are using isn't too strong and they don't over-inject so it spreads to surrounding tissue as you only want the scar to shrink, fat atrophy from it can be side effect if they use too much.

  17. That's good to hear! From their standpoint, if you post pics of yourself showing the result of what that doctor and clinic did to you, it could be very damaging to them, so you do have some power here. Let me say this though, when it comes time to actually write you a check, you may have a different experience. So once you know the exact price, you should confirm with them before you get any word done to confirm they will cover the surgery in full, preferably get it in writing so communicate via email or text. I suspect his co-worker surgeon in Korea would him a big discount on the price since his colleague is paying for it instead of you. If you get it done by another doctor of your own choosing, you'd likely pay much more. Would he still cover the cost in that case?

Make sure to take lots of pics of your full face from multiple angles before you get anything done as you don't want them claiming your revision surgery caused the issues. Another thing to keep in mind is your issue may take multiple procedures over time to fully correct as it's a difficult problem to treat. The doctors you consult should cover this with you. Good luck!

  18. While he may agree to try and fix the lumps for free, I agree with Hautelady, you need to get opinions from as many clinics as possible before deciding what to do as it's a difficult problem to treat and the problem could become worse if he doesn't know what he's doing, for example ulthera can destroy good fat which could make your lumps even more prominent. Ask him what his treatment plan would be for your lumps, he should be the one to suggest the treatments rather than you saying "can you try ulthera" and him agreeing based on your request for example. Try to find a clinic who can provide before/after pics of patients similar to you for proof they have experience with your situation and to see their work.
