pikapikachu
Hi rosyaffairs! I'm planning to do facial contour surgery in Banobagi next year, through the assistant of Docfinderkorea. However there is not much information or feedbacks about this medical tourism. From what the person in charge of coordinate told me, their services are totally free of charge! Isn't it too good to be true? It makes me wonder if they're reliable. Are you going to use their service?
rosyaffairs
Hey starfire 81, thanks for your advise! How's your recovery so far? Could you share more with me on your overall experience with Banobagi and Dr Lee in particular? Also, did you place a deposit before your surgery? Thanks dear for sharing
rosyaffairs
Hey there, yes I will be going ahead with DocFinderKorea although i do not have any friends who have any personal experience with them but I have read on quite a few bloggers post on them and I have also contacted their translator, Claire directly who seems to be really pleasant and helpful. As for the coordinator from DocFinderKorea who I have been in touch with, is known as Mr Shin. Not too sure if he's the one whom you have been in contact too? Anyway, just curious, did they ask you to place a deposit for your surgery?
rosyaffairs
Hey Elle.13, did you book your consultation directly with Banobagi? I have actually requested to have my consultation and surgery to be conducted on the same day, upon my arrival. I presume, this is perhaps the reason I was being asked to place a deposit because I want to block Dr Lee on my requested date for the surgery as I am already rather firm with my choice. what kind of ops you are doing? pikapikachu
Hey! ^^ It was Shin Park whom I contacted with. He also advised me to put 10% deposit, just in case good doctors are fully booked and I'll have to wait for a few days after consultation. I'm planning to do so since I'll only be staying for only 2 weeks there and I dont want to waste time. I wanted to pay the balance all in cash but on the latest email, Mr.Park told me that Banobagi changed their regulation on VAT recently, it is when patients pay for their medical charge, patients should pay 10% more regardless of paying in cash or credit card, however cash the discount rate is still higher than credit card. It got me a little worry, banobagi prices are always increasing! So scary 😦 Btw when are you setting off?
rosyaffairs
hey babe, at least now i know i'm not the only one being asked to place a deposit. i feel so much more relieved now Exactly, I am planning to pay the deposit as well since I'll be staying there for only 9-10 days and I don't want to waste time too. Anyway, by any chance, how are you gonna do the deposit? I have called and checked with DBS, and I was told I can get this deposit done over the counter, however there would be some fees involved (including agent fees of which they have no idea how much that would be). It's kinda scary too without knowing the final amount i'll be paying mine in full cash as well! I couldn't agree more with you! I'll told Shin Park that I would like to have my consultation and surgery done on the same day of my arrival that's scheduled on 27th March 2015. And yours? Don't mind me asking, what ops are you going for?

pikapikachu
I'll be doing facial contour, eyelid revision and rhinoplasty. I'm going on the start of April 2015 (Hasn't confirm the date, looking for better promotion on air tickets), so I'll make deposit when the date is closer. I called DBS regarding money transfer to Korea. They told me there will be 3 charges. First, handling fee. It'll be 1/8 of the amount you transfering. From min SGD10 to max SGD120.Secondly, cable charge. A standard cost of 20SGD. Lastly, agent bank. It depends on how much the oversea bank decided to charge you. I need to make a deposit of SGD2400, I more scared lor ): If your deposit is 400USD, I guess the additional charges shouldn't be too much? Did Shin Park advised you on the details of money transferring? Actually you might want to consider having the surgeries on the next day of your arrival? So that you wouldn't feel too rush right? Have a good rest before operation ^^ just my opinion though (:
odnok
Okay I know that Dream - Dr park specialises in Rhinoplasty and eye. But I read that on the website that they dont have incision ptosis eye but when I emailed them they said they do? So are they lying about the incision ptosis? Or are they not? rosyaffairs
Hey dear, ohgosh that's quite a huge amount there lol. But considering the type of beauty surgery you gonna take, it still considered cheaper than having it do here locally. Yes, he did and that's the same instructions I received from DBS too. I'll be making my deposit sometime by early next week. You have a point there i'll consider. Btw, which doctor are you gonna choose from Banobagi? xyl88
I forgot the breakdown, but the total for ptosis and fat repositioning is 7,2 m KRW. After they quoted this high price, I'm to lazy to bargain with them, cause it's a crazy high price to begin with, and I don't want to waste my time. Did you get your quotation via email or have you did direct consultation? I've asked them through email before, and the price that they give is cheaper like 1,8 m KRW for fat repositioning, that's why I made appointment with them before coming to Seoul. I didn't know why they quoted such high price when I met them.
pikapikachu
Please keep me updated if you don't mind Hopefully the agent bank charges they mentioned won't be too scary lol I'll probably choose Dr.Lee for both eyelid and Rhinoplasty. You know Miyake right? Her rhinoplasty surgeon was Dr.Lee, I think he did a pretty good job and I heard many good reviews of him for double eyelid surgery as well Are you going to do double eyelid only? I actually consulted Dr.woffles wu for nose job, he said he'll charge at least 11k And my cousin had his double eyelid done by him, it costed SGD5000 FOR ONE EYE (He had one single and one double eyelid, so he decided to do one eye instead of two). Lol that's crazy! So I rather take the risk to go all the way to korea
babyangel11
Hi pikapikachu Which Dr Lee are you choosing for your DEL? Which clinic is he from n how much are his charges? Is it for Incision or Non-incision? Does your cousin's DEL look nice? I have seen stitching DEL done by W. Wu n it was done pretty well - the stitch was still quite firm after few years. But i must say he is very expensive n he doesnt really negotiate on the price n he's rather haughty too. Lol
pikapikachu
Hello ^^ Dr.Lee from Banobagi. I wanted to do revision eyelid surgery, did my incision double eyelid 6 years ago but I don't quite like it. It was done by Dr.Wong Saw Yeen, from gleneagles. Actually I'm not too sure about the price for DEL at Banobagi, haven't got the price list from my agent, but I heard people in forums say the price range is 2-3 milliom KRW. My cousin did incision del, it looks good. I must say Dr.Wu is pretty good but his charges is 2-3 times of other clinics ):
