Double Eyelid Surgery, Epi, Lateral - Master Thread

Recommended Posts

Ah, I hope my response didn't come across as curt! I wrote a pretty long post about my experience at Banobagi, which encapsulates everything I went through so I didn't want to repeat myself. But if you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to ask or pm me! I completely understand that planning to undergo surgery in a foreign country is daunting.

Personally, I would advise against putting down a deposit even if you're confident that you'll go with Banobagi. You haven't consulted directly with the doctor so there's always the possibility that you could change your mind. Also, you have less bargaining power since you can't walk away if you paid a deposit. It's true that Banobagi is very busy, so I don't think you'll be able to secure a spot on the same day as the consultation without a deposit. But you have 9 days so that gives you a little wiggle room in terms of dates. Banobagi is a very reputable clinic, but you should try to see at least two doctors.

What about a consultation with both Dr. Lee and Dr. Park? It's not true that Dr. Park doesn't perform incisional DES - he just prefers to use his special double embedding technique. This girl was on an extreme makeover show called "Let Me In": http://blog.naver.com/525817/220117891221. Dr. Lee fixed her nose and Dr. Park touched up on her eyes. I'm not sure which technique he used, but she looks gorgeous!

In any case, there's an event going on at Banobagi and the prices of non-incision (diff from double embedding) and incision DES have been reduced to 700 000 krw and 1.3 million krw, respectively. Wishing you the best

rosyaffairs - thoughts I'd chime in re dr. Lee - he did my surgery just this Tuesday and it looks ok so far. He seemed a nice guy. He did revision DES, ptosis correction, epicanthoplasty and lateral cantho (all incisional). I'm crossing my fingers that he was able to correct the asymmetry in my eyes - seems even so far, but I'm still 4 days in so still quite unclear what the result will be. Surprisingly no bruising though and very little pain/swelling given all that I had done.

As to your dilemma, I'd suggest not putting down that deposit either. It is absolutely critical that you meet your surgeon first, as despite most of them being skilled, you might not click with each other etc. Deciding to have plastic surgery is a huge decision and the effect will be huge either way, so I'd be careful and consult with several clinics before making the final decision,

Yeah I'm freaking out just a little as I'll be heading to Korea pretty soon. I inquired about having a consultation with Dr Park and double embedding but I was told he doesn't take international patients? kinda bummed as I was leaning more into that. Did you personally ask to see Dr park or was he assigned to you? I've got a consultation with REAL and Teuim as well, so I'll see how they go.

Hey rosyaffairs, I booked for a consultation at banobagi but wasn't asked for a deposit. That's a bit strange :/

Considering how popular Banobagi is with international patients, it doesn't make much sense for the famous eye specialist to refuse them service :S

I didn't choose Dr. Park, so I suppose he was "assigned" to me when my Korean cousin booked the consultation. Thinking back, he kept calling me "the Canadian girl" because my real name is hard to pronounce, so maybe it's true that he doesn't treat many foreigners....

If you're really interested in seeing Dr. Park, I can contact his consultant on your behalf. I can't guarantee that it'll work out, but she's really outgoing so maybe something can be arranged

Hi can anyone advise me is Dr Kwon the only surgeon in Teuim doing DES? And does he perform Stitching Method (non-incision)?

I already have double eyelids n im thinking of making the crease a bit higher thats all. No Epi n no cantho etc. I dont want to go for incision as i worry in case it doesnt turn out to be what i want.

Thanks.

Yeah I thought he would be open to seeing foreigners since his technique is posted on the English site too. If it's not too much trouble for you  I tried asking for him but couldn't and then was asked for a deposit... hmm...

Teuim clinic has just one doctor, aka, Dr. Kwon. They do non-incisional approach as well. They initially suggest incisional, and I asked them if non incisional is a possibility in my case. They said I am a candidate for non incisional as well. It really depends on your current situation I believe.

Hey Tyler_Durden, how much were you quoted for non-incision method?

I was quoted 2.5~3 mil for DES plus ptosis ~<incision method>
And another 1.4 mil for epi

Even though my tear duct is very very obvious, they still suggest epi. they said epi is necessary for out fold style which is what I prefer to have...

While browsing through their website, I still don't understand the way they do ptosis surgery. Anyone care to explain?

Thanks and wish you guy happy researching.
