ulzzang-quest
K Couture, For my very first post, I simply want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! for sharing your vast knowledge and experience on this forum, in so many threads, on so many topics and issues of concern. Your thorough, detailed, candid, and thoughtful reviews (and responses to other posters) have greatly contributed to my own knowledge base, that I now feel quite informed and confident enough to book a flight and arrange for lodging to Seoul for consultations and procedures (primary rhino and upper blepharoplasty). YOU ARE AWESOME

maggie0008
Hi K Couture, I have been absent from these boards for more than a year and catching up. This thread is amazing, you are a great writer. I live in Atlanta and am Caucasian/Spanish but sometimes am confused for Korean or Native American so I've been interested in Korean PS (lol) for a while. I had jaw+zygoma reduction at Banobagi in June '11. Everything you describe is accurate. I'm not dissatisfied and was lucky that I did not get a lot of sagging, but I think my main problem was the strong muscles and fat on my face. All the fat redistributed and I looked like a goddam Chipmunk! So I had all these procedures after that: 1. Buccal Fat reduction (in Atlanta 4 months later) 2. Acculift- went back to Banobagi and unfortunately I was left with some dents around my jaw that I eventually had to correct with Sculptra. They did not take out enough fat, they mainly treated the sides of my face and under my neck, not sure why they where less aggressive about the rest of my face. Probably too many areas to treat. 3. Acculift again- in Atlanta. I think the guy didn't know how to use it because I had zero changes. 4. Microliposuction in Atlanta- I saw significant changes but the doctor did not take enough fat from under my cheeks and left a dent close to the perioral mound *sigh*. My face looks now very sculpted from the line below the bottom of my nose down all the way down to my neck. But the cheek area is very wide and not sculpted enough. I recently went to a doctor in Beverly Hills for a rhynoplasty consultation and he recommended to take more fat in the mid face below cheekbones to make my face more sculpted around the cheekbones. Quote was way too expensive (almost $14K for both including perlane to fix minor dents I have midface). Which is making me consider Korea again. From my understanding you had acculift in the same area of the face where I want it. Did you experience any dents? I am considering the forehead fat graft, nose job (primary) and the acculift. Any idea how much it would cost? If you can't share I understand tho The area between my eyebrows is kind of indented/concave and I saw somewhere on these threads (for the life of me I can't find it now!) a picture of Angela Baby (sp?) in which they were showing how that area of her face looked less concave now and they said that it was because the nose implant in implanted starting in that area. Does this sound right? Thanks again for any information!
maggie0008
Oh, and I forgot to ask K Couture, do you currently have any pain or sensation in your nose? how does it compare (in terms of feeling/sensation) to before you had the surgery? taraunnie
Hey Maggie~ I would like to hear more about your experience if you would like to share, because I am thinking of Banobagi for the same procedures and there are basically no people who have been there or talked about having surgeries there on this forum. Thanks
taraunnie
Dear KCouture, I was wondering in regards to money, should you take as much as you've been quoted just in case, or more or less?
blasian
Hello, I am curious to know if you had quite a bit of fat on your face before the v-line and zygoma reduction?
sunshine89
Hi, I would like to know if rhinoplasty with rib cartilage or silicone would give the most natural look once the swelling goes down? Or is there no difference? Is it the material or shape and size of the implant that determines how natural it looks?
k-couture
I never place a limit on how much money I bring. I always deck myself out with all my credit cards. Always bring extra just in case. You never know as when you get examined in person it might turn out that your case is more complicated and requires a more costly method. k-couture
The overall aesthetic is determined not only with the implant size and shape but also the placement method and the pre existing structure of the patient. Natural is also very subjective. You certainly would encounter a higher change of aesthetic complications when using rib. Part of the reason is that within the time frame where the patient is under anesthesia, the surgeon has to carve and shape the rib graft. This is far more difficult than one may think and is often the reason behind patients being dissatisfied with the aesthetic result of the procedure. But these imperfections (potentially bumps, humps or uneveness) can make your nose look more natural because of the imperfections. Rib is also harder than the soft silicones. Silicone when placed well and the right height is used can look natural but it can also look flawless because it is pre shaped. This flawlessness can give others the impression that the nose is too good to be natural born from the patient. So i guess it depends what natural means to you. seekinghope
Hi K Couture, I am totally new to PS and I have a few procedures in mind to enhance my eyes, nose and facial contouring. The clinics have yet to revert on their suggestions for me but I may select different clinics for different procedure on one single trip. May I know what is your take on this, apart from it being a hassle cause I need to travel around. How would you suggest to plan the surgeries in specific sequence? Thank you very much for your kind advice.
k-couture
In some mid-sized and large clinics they have really good specialists surgeons in eyes and nose and facial contouring. So if possible do it at the same clinic through 2 different specialist for the procedure type. Usually facial bone contouring is centered to one surgeon because it takes a longer time to hone the techniques involved. Compared to an eyelid surgery the operation time is signifcantly longer. Doing it at the same clinic will ensure a better price and better surgical knowledge for your case. Because say you begin with your eyes then the next surgeon takes over for facial contouring, all the information regarding the patient and the procedure can be readily passed on to the next. Also I find it mentally and emotionally exhausting having to undergo 2 seperate operations and anesthesia. That being said, I am at this very moment contemplating the same thing as you. You see I am going to finally get my fat graft top up next month at Dream. However I just received my estimated quote for my macs lift and because it is considered a revision case as i've had a concentric malar lift in the past, the price tag is something for me to think about. Because of this I may end up doing my fat graft top up at Dream but the Macs Lift at another clinic. I would rather avoid this as just the thought of hopping from clinic to clinic when all I want to do is rest in my hotel room after surgery is making me dread my upcoming trip. Oh an with regards to order of surgeries if you are going to split them up. I would do facial contouring and eyes first. Nose later. It also depends on what type of facial contouring you plan on doing tho.
seekinghope
Thanks babe, for face contouring I would like to refrain from t-osteotomy and fat removal because of sagging but I think its hard because I have a chubby and fat face. can you please recommend me the clinics which can perform all 3 procedures? I agree with you, after the surgery the only thing I would want is rest. Lastly for sagging of the skin, are you able to advice if this woman advertising for Wonjin is experiencing sagging? She has dents at both sides especially when she smiles at time 1:04 of the video clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsxzC5bq__o&feature=player_embedded
