K Couture's guide to seoul plastic surgery

Recommended Posts

Hi K and Davincci,
I'm now 3 weeks post op. just want to update that my surgery went well. most of my bruises were gone before end of second week except one on my nose bridge which was the area where i had extrusion from the previous rib rhino. when my cast was removed on day 4 it revealed a deep bruise. Dr Park checked on me and told me it is ok. and true to his words, the bruise is slowly but surely fading away. i think it should be totally clear in a few more days. so far I'm happy with my new nose. result is natural and subtle yet when i put my before and after pix together, i can a definite improvement. Dr Park is amazing!! i just pray my nose will not change too much as it settles down in the next few months.
thank you both for your posts. i benefitted greatly from your experience. i will remember to prepare dry shampoo for my next ps :P

thanks for your posts everyone, it's great to be informed.
Seems that Dr Park from Dream is a great surgeon whose results are natural/subtle. But I'm looking for a more dramatic improvement. Does anyone have any suggestions on other good surgeons like Dr Park, but does more dramatic transformations?
Thanks in advance.

When one has surgery performed by a skilled surgeon, it is incorrect to assume results are based on the surgeon's "style". In fact, results depends on the patient's pre existing condition and the requests they make to the surgeon. A good surgeon can give dramatic or natural results depending on what the patient wants, while taking into consideration the pre existing structure. So for example if an asian person with bulbous nose and thicker skin comes in asking for a caucasian's nose, no matter how skilled the surgeon is, such a dramatic change will not be possible because the original structure of the patient does not allow for it. But say the patient is asian but has thinner tissues and does not have a bulbous nose, and requests a caucasian nose, then a skilled surgeon can produce results as close to the patient's requirements as possible. Just like how many people who have their surgery with Dr Park say their results are natural and subtle, my results are natural and dramatic. Because I specifically told Dr Park before he performed my revision, "I would like for you to maximise height and tip projection to the point which my current structure will allow." By saying this he understood that i wanted maximum height and tip projection in a conservative manner, because he had to take into consideration that mine was a revision case with extrusion, so he had to be careful not to augment my nose beyond the limit which my tissues could handle in its damaged state.

Well regen is a good clinic but like all other big clinics, if you even plan on going there you need to make sure you are aware who the senior surgeons are. You see the huge clinics employ alot of young graduates and inexperienced surgeons who undergo training at their facility. They do this in order to maximise the volume of patients that come in, mainly from China. This is because the senior surgeons can only perform so many surgeries a day and thus it is economical to train fresh grads and surgeons requiring experience in order to make up for the influx of patients. Hence before you consider going to the large clinics, do your research to find out who the senior surgeons are and what their speciality is. If you are unable to obtain slots with the senior specialists and the consultants are pushing u to go ahead with another surgeon you have never heard of, do not do it.

That is a very very vaild point. Did you know of which senior doctors at regen specialises in rhino, double eyelids and face+neck life?

I read your guide and have taken on your recommendation to consider the doctors not the clinic. Only reason why ive narrowed down to these three clinics is because they seem to have a good record and limited negative reviews.

Whats your thoughts on ITEM and banobangi?

There was a report on the Korean news today of a high school who died while doing a simple double eyelid and nose surgery. The reason is that they switched surgeons and another (less experienced) surgeon performed the surgery. In order to hide this they gave her excess anesthesia. The report highlighted couple of important factors to look out for 1. The clinic should have emergency equipment in case anything goes wrong 2. There should be a separate anesthesiologist performing the anesthesiology 3 research clinic cleanliness. The report also showed the doctor and staff having a birthday party and eating cake and hamburger while a patient was in surgery.
I also had surgery in Seoul where my doctor assured that there would be separate anesthesiologist during consult but they told me there is none as I was climbing onto the table and also there was a shoe rack in the surgery room. Even reputable clinics are lax on hygiene so be careful

Thanks for letting us know about this report. I was wondering if you could provide a link to where you read this?

I'm a bit confused, we found out that the clinic shown "partying" was at Jewelry clinic. Did the high school patient who died while getting their eyes and nose done happen at Jewelry, or was it another clinic?

This is such an unfortunate thing that happened.

I think this may be a separate report? I thought the girl from Wonjin died while having a facial contouring procedure, not getting work done on their eyes and nose.
