WHoa Wgirl99 I dint know Charles Lee was that expensive! At first I was tempted to go there as its in the states (at least I can communicate) But as there seems to be alot of us going to Korea together I think its a better option as they seem specialised on asian faces. This is our nose job field trip

Hey NNHONGNHEO! I have yet to send Dr. Park a photo of me, I'll probs send one during the weekend and I'll tell you how it goes. I think its hard to provide any accurate consultation without meeting the surgeon face to face. I think the photo they do of you and your family was put through a computer system that does something generic to them so tell your mum and sister not to be put off by it

As for going in May I dont think I can make that as my funds need to build up and I think plane tickets are expensive then? not sure... I'm from the Uk by the way, numberlinh is the lead lady of the states

Hey wgirl99!
Yep, I think Im prob most likely gona go and get my nose done in s.korea nearer the end of this yr, unless I hear sme really horrible stories about these surgeons!

I think with the closed method, korean surgeons mainly use local, they rarely use general cause its not really neccessary, so I wd def not do it if I had to b put under general, cause then, Im gona feel miserably for like the next few days of my holiday!

Hey Nnhongneo,
if u wana look at the website of the clinics, numberlinh had posted a list of them on either page 9 or 10 I think. Bk clinic (the one u wanted) was one of them.

hello girls and boy(s)
saw this thread thru googling a bit, its good 2 have an active and informative thread about this topic. thought i mite have a word too cos some of the things you guys have said here have helped me out.
Firstly about me
im a 20 y.o. ABC (chinese born in australia) currently in korea visting me parents . the oldies moved here 2 months ago for work.In the last few days iv been looking into rhino with my mum (shes gonna do a few other things but not rhino. at least i dont think so). Ive visited a few clinics so thought i might say something useful about most of them that might help your decisions:

i live in the gangnam gu/apgujeong area which is where all the plastic surgeons are at (and all the 'beautiful' rich young n old ppl hang out around here). in this area theres a street (dont know the korean name but ill find out) where there are approx 30 clinics. its the famous plastic surgery st talked abt in the Times article i think (ill dig up the link).

1.
So far i've visited the Jelim clinic which is on one of the links one of u mentioned, seemed a bit quiet inside, but i only went into the reception. it was a very clean and nice clinic (but then all of them around this area are. some of the before and after photos are amazing! this place does mainly women and some of them..hmm i dont know how best to put it around u ladies..but i'd lets just say id tap that lol :P
Sorry.
anyway. of the 8 clinics iv been to, iv tried to find out which ones speak english (i cant speak more than 8 words of korean). So far i havent gone to any of the clinics you guys have mentioned except Jelim. Of the english speaking ones, i;ve booked or gone for an initial free consultation (2x) to find out methods, prices.

2.
One consultation was @ Male patient only clinic (they probly do penis extensions here lol), but the surgeon seemed a bit 'basic' (passable enlgish, and technique seemed more simple, explanation was adequate and b4 and after pics werent that great).
Another thing, the waiting room was empty..however like all plastic surgery clinics it seemed clean and modern (in the western sense). it was USD$4000 cheapest price so far. the only reason why i mention this one is cos they have a sister clinic (same name and possibly english speaking too) for women which is quite a bit larger im led to believe.

3.
Anotehr was called VIP, according to the english speaking docs assistant its quite famous. Fairly busy tho small this one was, the dr was partly american trained -as i saw from the wall plaques. apparently he did one or two fellowships in the US -though it might be that they just indicating he'd just done a short workshop or 2.
This particular clinic was on the main rd (the respectable and busier ones all seem to be) and also next to 'Hooters'! the Dr wasnt present (out performing surgeries i think), but his assistant did the consultation, in it she went through a lot of before and after photos, diagrams and summarised what would be done to my nose (i have a slight hump, slight bend (from a soccer accident) and a wider and meatier nose than most lol -all this would be operated on). She did it speaking good english, though throughout the consultation, she seemd to be more selling the product -like actually saying bluntly that i have a very large nose, and that with a reduction i would look very handsome etc etc. ROFL.
Price seemed reasonable @ $USD 4200, and it seemed they are doing well and servicing lots of foreign clientele -not only english speaking, but moving to a larger, newer clinic.

4.
The other english speaking one was probably the best. It was larger, offered lots of other stuff apart from nose jobs, quite opulent (though older) and well established, and did i mention very very busy. There were about 15 ppl in the main waiting room/foyer; another 10 id say in the separate dermatology/skin services waiting room -2 of them had just had nose jobs i cuold see. looked friggin painful

In this clinic there are apparently 10 doctors, 3 female i think; and all of them speak english. one or 2 of the very attractive receptionists speaks very good english as well.
Apart from that the reason why i seem to also like it is because i accompanied my mum on her consultation for an IPL/laser treatment. the doctor (specialising in skin) was very thorough, not rushed at all, funny and spoke adequate to good enlgish. he fielded all the questions and gave pricing (for laser skin clearing/unblemishing treatments (dont know the name for it!) for my mums face its about 1.5 mill Won (about 2.2 G Aus) (gotta check this tho i swear it was less). The other reason why we liked it is because, we randomly bumped into a korean american woman getting a consultation, she'd come here previously and recommended it. apparently its one of the more famous and suoght after clinics.
Oh yeh its name is Clinic 9 (there used 2 be 9 docs i think)

Ok just a few other things b4 i go 2 bed (its 4.30am here and as usual im awake).
This particular area is rather pricey to stay at though convenient. Also english speakers are hard 2 find -not just in apgujeong/gangnam but all over (exept near the US army base). Now's probly a good time 2 befriend korean american.
Cos of the language difficulty and maybe culture shock. id recommend you guys get 2 know the area you'll be staying at first b4 surgery.

Other clinics:
Dont know about Dr Jungs surgery, but it looks good, will make sure i get a quote and consultation.
I'll also hope 2 have a look at OzSurgery which is bloody close 2 where i live and if i have the time ill visit BK too
For those who don;t know, IAAN is not in Seoul (i think Daegu is in the south), though from the website they look more than decent.

last words About me:
if u havent guessed already im a guy (nose job likely at end of the yr around december (uni break) when i visit my parents 4 a mth or two. parents give the ok as a 21st bday present.

whoa this is long..
apologisies if you have difficulty reading what im writing. someone might want to clean it up and repost it..
im
off 2 bed
nite ppl

Hey jas3n!
Thanks for the info! I was really hoping that someone who's actually been to s.korea cd tell us wat the situation is really like out there. Cause afterall, it is v diff to judge how good a clinic (& surgeon) is just by looking at the website. Be great if u cd give us some links which we havent got yet (if thats not too much trouble) and also, cause a few of us are really interested in Ozclinic, so if u r gona check it out and see if the Dr Park if really that good, that'll b really helpful!
So u gona go in dec? Hey u mite even bump into a few of us, as we plan to go around that time!

U knw u mentioned the VIP clinic, isnt that Dr Jung's clinic?

hi all,
didnt get 2 hava looksee at Ozclinic as its quite a bit further than i thought and grocery shopping took way too long...especially since my mum goes overboard and filled the boot with enough meat & vegies for a coupla weeks LOL.
from the GPS i have in the car it seems that Ozclinic is somewhere close 2 the plastic surgery st in gangnam...i'll probly go there next week, as im doing some 'research' at other clinics next week and i have 2 consultations booked on mon and friday respectively near 2 Ozclinic.

keropijennifer mentioned that VIP clinic might be Dr Jungs clinic but im pretty sure it isnt, the two clinics are in diff areas -Dr Jungs clinic looks to be near Gangnam Stn. which is an area i havent gone 2 yet but which im told is similar to apgujong (upmarket, lots of stalls, young ppl, restaurants). lol korea is sorta like beverly hills. anyone here watch dr 90210?

as for me being here at the end of the yr thats a definite yes (i get 2 fly here twice a yr as part of my parents employment package). So ya i might just bump in2 a few you guys  but to answer NNHONGNHEO its hihgly unlikely ill be here in may since i normally i live and study in melbourne, aus, and that would be in the middle of uni!!

anyways im trying 2 sleep earlier here now..so off 2 bed with me it looks like
have a good weekend every1!!

I sent Dr.Park some pictures for the online consulation.
He got back to me extremely quick ,with
virtual surgery photos.
Eventho if it can't show the exact result, it was helpful to imagine the result.
And honestly it looked like Michael Jacksons nose.:Push:

Hey Moody,
At least he tried and sent u some virtual images,....I sent him photos too! But he didnt do anything with them! :Push: He just told me the options I could do on my nose......and I knew what my options were, so I'll have to ask him more questions. Hey to all those ppl who got pictures back with vitual changes on them, what did u say to Dr Park? How come he didnt do anythiing on mine?

Also, Im not sure whether Im starting to annoy him a little because i keep insisting I want closed method done and he says open method is better if u want to enhance ur nasal tip, so...does most ppl who have their tips improved require the open method if they want a better result? I only want to change my nasal tip cause if u increase ur nasal dorsum, even if its like by 2mm more, in comparison, the tip of ur nose will look smaller then, so that is y I thought I'd need to increase the height of my tip, or is the tip part done only if u want to change the shape of it? Cause I dont really need to change the shape, I only want to make it more prominent, so that it fits with the top part of my nose. Otherwise, frm the side, the nose will look vertical! :Push:

Jas3n, so great that ur here! Im relying on u now to find out  , lol, (no pressure!) cause u knw, I just want my nose to be enhanced, so as long as the new nose will look better than the one I've got now, I'm fine with that. But now, Im thinking whether it's even possible!
