prismaticence
Hello I'm doing my research for DES and it's been great reading all the helpful replies on this forum. I'm wondering if anyone knows if there's any English website where you can find a listing of all the plastic surgery clinics in Seoul with contact information etc? It's really very time consuming searching for each clinic individually and trying to navigate their websites (which is all very different). Makes me want to tear my hair out sometimes.. Wondering if anyone feels the same way haha.
oliviaolive
\^___^/ YAY! You got no clue how happy I am to hear you say that! My friends are all "what if it goes wrong and you come out with uneven eyes etc" while I'm mostly worried about coming out like a barbie or doll - super fake. If you have time, would you mind helping me type a request in Korean to Opera? For an appointment request with an English translator. A member on this board mentioned Opera does have english translators available if you make the appointment in person - I'm hoping we can make that request in an email too if the email is in Korean. TIA!
blueblood444
Hi! Did you have a face-to-face consultation, or was the quote determined via email/online consult? If it's the latter, you will most likely be able to drive the price down since clinics tend to highball everything online. But in any case the price is incredibly high even for Banobagi, which is known to be one of the more expensive clinics. I have heard that the range for incision DES at Banobagi is between 1.4-1.6 million krw (albeit locals prices), and even if ptosis and epi were 1 million krw each, the total should come to approximately 3.4-3.6 million krw. I paid 1.2 million krw for non-incision DES at Banobagi....
blueblood444
Sure! PM me your details (name, procedures you're interested in, dates) and I can shoot off an email to Opera. They're very quick to reply

hopefulbliss
Hi prismaticence, I know exactly how you feel, researching is time consuming! Here's a list of majority of the PS clinics, http://seoul.angloinfo.com/af/578/seoul-reconstructive-and-plastic-surgeons.html . Hope this helps! elle-13
Hey Blueblood I showed them some pictures and she gave me a quote, I'll be going there in person for a consultation, so hopefully the price will go down. Can I know how your experience with non-incision at bonobagi went? I am reconsidering incisional, ive read though many forums and it sounds a bit gory haha how long did it take for the swelling to go down? and can you see the scars from the mini incisions? phoenix66
HI there, I am doing great. The scarring on the epi incision is almost resolved after steroid injections (It might have resolved itself even without the injection, who knows?). Bruising all gone, though right lid is still a little puffier than left. Started wearing makeup and I love my new eyes. Why did I not do this earlier? I am glad I did the incisional because the folds are deep set and set close to the eye (no sausage lids, thank God).
prismaticence
hi hopefulbliss Thanks for sharing! That's a really nice list of clinics (in english too). Other than purseforum, are there any other good sites you've used to research for your clinics in Korea? I'm planning to do my eyelids, but I want to find a doctor who has a really good track record and good results, price is less of a consideration (but must be reasonable of course) Thanks in advance! rosyaffairs
Hey dear, thank you so much for your reply. I have decided to go with Banobagi and I'll be picking Dr Lee Hyeon Taek as my DES surgeon. Was wondering if you know him? Any idea how's his skills? I'll be heading over in end March and I've been asked to place a deposit to secure my date. Is this the standard procedure for payment of a deposit between 300-400 USD? You have been very kind in your reply and it has indeed gave me alot of insight. Truly appreciate your notes thus far
hopefulbliss
Other than this forum I've looked at Soompi, but I feel they are not as up to date or organized as Purseforum.
blueblood444
I wrote about my experiences at Banobagi a few pages back - it shouldn't take you long to find my post. Swelling went down after 3 days, but there is some bruising that will last up to a week. No, there are no tell-tale scars because the doctor didn't make any incisions. blueblood444
Hi! I'm glad to hear my posts were helpful to you with regards to Dr. Lee, I remember my cousins telling me that he is an amazing nose specialist, so I'm unsure as to why Banoabagi would recommend him to you (unless you picked him out yourself). He's one of the founders so I'm sure he's experienced, but why not go with the eye specialist, Dr. Park Seon Jae (also a founder)? He is the only doctor in the entire clinic who does the special non-incision double embedding technique. Also, it's not justifiable for clinics to ask for deposits - how could they expect you to make a decision before consulting with the doctor? As a rule of thumb, you should visit 2-3 clinics before deciding. Just respond that you would like a consultation first - if you are satisfied, you can reserve a date immediately thereafter. I'm not sure if March is a busy month for clinics, but if it's not, you will most likely get your pick of dates.
elle-13
Thanks Blueblood, you've been really helpful not just in this thread but I've seen some of your post in other threads too. Sorry if i seem to ask lots of questions. Many thanks
rosyaffairs
Hey Babe, here's the reply I received from DocFinderKorea who is assisting me with my beauty trip. I will be going for incisional and Epi since my eyelids are fatty. From the reply I received from them, it seems like Dr Lee is more experienced in the surgery I am choosing. Not too sure if i should be skeptical about this and follow your advise or should I stick to Dr Lee? It's really nerve whacking should I eventually opt for the wrong doctor :/ "There are 2 best doctors for eye surgery in Banobagi. Dr Park sun jae and Dr. Lee hyeon taek. Dr Park only does non-incisional double eyelid surgery. Dr. Lee does both non-incisional and incisional double eyelid surgery. Even Dr Park seldom do canthoplasty. But you may need Incisional double eyelid and Epi canthoplasty. So you can choose Dr. Lee. He is specialized in eyes and nose. Many patients love his technique for eye surgery. We also highly recommend him to you." As for the deposit, I was being asked me to place a deposit as I have scheduled a date with them and I've also mentioned that I would like to have the consultation as well as surgery done on the same day upon my arrival. So, is it normal for them to ask me for 400USD deposit then? My reason for this is I could only stay max 9 days in korea and after looking thru the threads as well as your comments, I made the decision to go with Banobagi without even going for face to face consultation with the other clinics :/ am I making a wrong move here? Oh god, hope you can advise me on this. thank you for your kind advises thus far
