iljs92
Do you or anyone who knows mind explaining the difference between partial and non incision vs incision in terms of the final outcome of eye? Won't non incision loosen or end up being too natural compare to incision? And isn't it higher chance of revision for future. Also I wear contacts every single day even on days I'm home, so will non incision make my creases saggy/come apart with frequent use of contact lens? Thanks ahead! kkim120
Oh dude! I just stayed at Inn the City in Nonhyeon when I was in Korea this December for my DES!!! It's very nice! Banobagi is setting you up for free? I booked it myself online and it was ~$120/night for a double king size bed room.
kkim120
Hey guys, I posted my DES surgery on the "best plastic surgery clinics in korea" thread, but I wanted to share a bit of my experience here as well. Having done rhino in 2012 and now DES in December 2014, I think we girls are crazy. the stuff we do to look prettier is INSANE. They say DES is such a minor surgery that people in Korea don't even consider it surgery..? That has got to be a lie! Do you realize how often you unthinkingly rub your eyes every day? Also, right after DES, you cannot see clearly-everything is bleary for a day or two. And your eyes are constantly tearing up. This stuff is not easy guys! In my case, i simultaneously caught the flu (pretty sure I got it on the plane ride to Korea) and had fever + body aches, so it was more difficult than other people's experiences but.. dude guys, this is not an easy thing. I had nonincisional double eyelid surgery with ptosis correction and medial epicanthoplasty. I went to Dr. Hwang In Suk (almost like Jo In Suk but not nearly as pretty!) at ID--and before you tell me it's blacklisted here, I know, I know. But I also know too many people who've gone to ID with great results not to consult with them. And none of surgeons I consulted with at (Dream, DA, View, April 31) had surgery plans for my nose/eyes that I thought made sense for me. And then the doctors at ID--the last place I consulted--had plans that I agreed with (plus the fact that their rhino doctor used xrays/ct scans to make his surgery plans for me made me feel really comfortable that this guy knows what he's doing. And I was too tired/didn't have time (I was only in korea for 10 days) to consult other places, so I put down my deposit and called it a day. Thankfully, the results are good. It's only been 12 days but I don't have any redness at all from where they did the epi. A tiny bit of bruising in the left eye and still swollen, but it's getting better everyday. Some of the forumers who had DES around the same time I did, at other places had all sorts of weird experiences. Two of them went to the same doctor who kept them awake and would ask them to open and close their eyes. They both had incisional, so maybe this is normal, but apparently the doctor undid his stitches two/three times on each eye before he was done with their surgeries. One of them can't close her eyes after ptosis correction (I was scared this might happen to me, but I was able to close my eyes completely even right after my surgery) and the doctor said it may take a few months for her to be able to close her eyes. WTF! That's so scaryyyy!!! Anyhow, you guys--do your research and make sure you got to a DES specialist for your surgery. Cause OMG, things can go baaaaad! And I hope you don't go by yourselves since your eyesight will be impaired for at least a day after your surgery.
pikapikachu
Hey! I'm booking through a Korea Medical tourism "Docfinderkorea", they'll help to book hotel and clinic appointment for me (: The tourism quoted me 90,000 krw for the hotel charges. Is Inn The City good? kkim120
Oh it's sooo good! They have free breakfast every morning--supposedly free lunch too but I never went (too many yummy foods in korea to eat at the same place all the time). But they switch up the menu at breakfast. If you look at my other posts I've posted pics of the room and food. Also, the front desk people are great. Every time I wanted a certain type of food delivered, I'd cal up and say "I want to eat galbitang. Do you know a place that delivers?" And they would find a place I can order from I was really sick with the flu so this was really helpful. They also came by and helped me figure out the hearing and door answering machine. Nothing but good things to say about that place. You'll like it, I'm sure
pikapikachu
Wow thanks!!! That really helps! Was having a hard time deciding which hotel to choose lol. kkim120
No, I don't have a blog. I just post everything on Purse Forum. The pics of my room are here: # And if you keep going on in that thread, you'll run into my pics of breakfast too!
where
Hello! Do you mind sharing what ID's eyes/ nose plans were and why they made more sense to you compared to those of other clinics? I've been a long time lurker at PF researching plans for rhino (and originally jaw), and was interested in ID until the ID Factory thread scared me off. I'm deciding on a clinic and need all the help I can get (including shamelessly asking college friends in Korea)
kkim120
Yeah, I've read about the ID Factory. And actually, after going there, I can see why some people's impression of ID is like that. It's gotta be one of the biggest clinics in Korea and it's always showing up on tv shows. I used to be obsessed with Let Me In, a Korean plastic surgery make over show, and Huh Ye Eun, the most famous Let Me In participant, had her face done at ID. Right now, I'm obsessed with this show called 화성인 바이러스 which has nothing to do with plastic surgery, but when the VJ girl had her surgery done, it was also done at ID. So it's all over the media. Anyhow, I had a friend who went there and had beautiful results. Well, she's not really my friend she's a friend of a friend who moved back to Korea and we hung out a few times back in 2013 when I visited Korea (not to do surgery) and became Facebook friends. Her face is BEAUTIFUL and when plastic surgery came up, she just very cooly admitted to having done eyes, nose and jaw. I didn't admit I had my nose done since no one would believe it.. hahhahaa.. And I met a few forumers back in 2012 who had incredible results. ID was so popular in 2012 and everyone was pretty uniformly reporting good results until that girl who did jaw. I had planned to at least consult at ID but didn't think I'd actually end up doing surgery there. It was last on the places I consulted (I wen to Dream, DAPRS, View, April 31 and ID). Anyway, if you go to my other posts on a different thread you can see my reviews of each place, but basically, I had my hopes on View--also a Let Me In clinic. But when I went there, the surgeon was zoo terribly rude I didn't like him at all. I know it's about skill and not personality, but I didn't want to trust my face with him. And I went to the April 31 consultation totally ready to put down my deposit but they suggested I do weird things like fat graft injection for bridge augmentation (don't do this. It's a waste of money. the fat can't possibly stay, it will all be reabsorbed), mini brow lift and incisional double eyelid (all four other clinics recommended non-incisional). So with this kind of surgery plan, i couldn't leave my money with them. Since I was only in Korea for a total of 10 days and I was running out of time, it wasn't like I could've scheduled more consultations and done surgery a bit later. ID actually turned out to be pretty good. Very very efficient with lots of patients, but it was bright lots of people available to assist you, a freaking cafe for you to order drinks (FREE!!). Plus, they're the only place I went to that does a CT scan and X-ray before doing your rhino consultation. You have to pay for this, but it means the doctor's surgery plan is way more informed. Can you imagine if he cuts you open and only then discovers something that will make surgery more complicated? Like, "Oops. I guess that original surgery plan won't do. I'm going to do this other thing instead and I can't tell the patient since they're sedated." Or maybe they'll say, "Oops. My surgery plan isn't what this patient needs but they agreed to this, so I guess I"ll have to do that." I mean... no good can come of this. And Dr. Chung was the only person who knew I had a deviated nose--you can only tell when I smile really big. As for eyes, since this is the DES thread, I think I did well to go with Dr. Hwang at ID. He's very serious and a bit older than all the other surgeons I consulted with, but he seemed to know what he was doing, and according to my eyes now, it looks like he did. I expected someone would question my decision to go to ID, but whatever. It's my money, my face. Given the circumstances, I felt like it was the best choice for me so I chose it :/
