Double Eyelid Surgery, Epi, Lateral - Master Thread

Hi Luzie
I have been contemplating on getting my procedure done with Cinderella as well. Did they confirm the 30% discount for cash payment? Cinderella also quoted me the same amount for the procedures minus ptosis correction.

The 30% discount is from Unique. Cinderella didn't give me the amount for discount. Can I know the price they gave you for ptosis correction?

Did they say which surgeon at cindrella specialises in des? They seem to be so many docs over there.. And wow it's that price for primary or revision it's very steep..

The ptosis correction price is perhaps inclusive of des? The price I got from teuim for revision is similar 3500 for incisional des +ptosis

Hi Luzie - Cinderella clinic didn't recommend ptosis for me but the DES (incision) and epi quotes were the same, I'm guessing it's the standard price range?

@Mickely - I think Dr. Jong Pil Chung specializes in DES? Though I'm not entirely sure... a friend of mine from Korea who lives in Canada with me says it looks like he specializes there.. but I'm not sure if he's a full own eyelid specialist like Dr Kwon

Hi Beef, they recommend me incision DES & Epi also. Personally, I feel I have droopy eyelid so I think I need ptosis but they can only advice that thru face to face consultation. However, the price is quite high so I'm still looking around for alternatives. But no doubt I will drop by their clinic for consultation when I'm in Korea.

Hi Mickely, if ptosis corection does includes DES then the price is kinda reasonable to me. But I have seen somewhere that Opera charges less than 3m krw for incision DES + epi + ptosis which makes Cinderella's prices quite high like Unique's.

I'm really worried about possible "sausage" eyelids. Does anyone know what causes this and how to avoid it?

I have fatty eyelids and I am going in for incisional. Tapered crease with epi, probably around 6mm.

Edit: I know a too-high crease can result in the sausage effect but what is a high crease?

Thanks!

Hi guys! This is my first post on purse forum *claps*
I recently got DES at ID hospital but I'm going to wait a few days before posting anything in detail buhhht I'm wondering if anyone else got lateral and found that the cut looks HUGE and unstitched? The doctor did inform me ahead of time that it'll look enormous but still it don't look so normal to me...

Anyways, here is what I got quoted initially and what I paid:
So when I first asked about pricing:
1) Non-icisional ptosis correction: starts at 3.2m krw
*(I didn't want double eyelids per say, only non-sleepy eyes but I'm an idiot and didn't know they went hand in hand)*
2) Lateral hotz: starts 1m krw

BUT as soon as I typed one word in Korean (this was on kakao)
They were like, "oh! for ethnic Koreans who don't need foreigner services the price is actually 30-40% cheaper!"

What I ended up paying:
1) No idea how much the girl said each thing was because she was speaking so fast and my Korean's not that good but I was satisfied with the total of 2.4m krw after discount (which I didn't ask for by the way they just were like "this is $$, this is $$$, this is $$ and total is $$ and with discount applied your total is 2.4m krw" I was good with the price so I didn't even haggle but maybe that's my personality like... I don't haggle at all in asian places.. it's never really been my thing ;/

So for 2.4 m krw I got:
~Non-incisional ptosis
~non-incisional double eyelids
~lateral canthoplasty
~AND lateral hotz (ps even if you do just one eye they don't do 1/2 discount boooo)

In summary I think they put a reasonable offer on the table (though I do believe it's possible to have gotten it cheaper sigh)
I'll post a detailed experience soon but first I want to see the outcome before I half rave about ID.. don't want to say good things only to end up with a botch eye job ya know.... but you'll definitely see that my approach to PS and the consultation process were veryyy different compared to many purse forum-ers. Let's just say.... I winged it.

For now though, I do want to say that yes ID is sorta factory style in the way that you barely see the doctor (he's LITERALLY running) but 90% of clients were Korean natives and not foreigners (surprise surprise). Also, if you're Korean and can sorta speak it, pls pls pls pls pls mention it so you don't end up paying a ridiculously high price. No need for a translator even if you suck at it because the consultant spoke decent English and one of the reception girls were fluent too. In case anyone's curious, my Korean level is about... the level of a 4 year old kid in Korea

If that's true, then they openly and directly discriminate against non-Koreans in their pricing even if the Koreans require translation assistance (ie foreigner services). That's pretty dodgy.

@HJ88 - I'm not surprised.. I've heard about the difference in pricing between foreigners and Korean natives.. At times like this I really wish I spoke Korean!

@Luzie - I can't seem to find the site for Unique, do you have the link and/or contact information? I also tried emailing Opera on their "email" but haven't heard back.. I got it off their English site but that doesn't seem to be working nor loading the images correctly. I've tried [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected]. No response from either...

I know, but it's rare that they blatantly admit it. Especially to a person who ended up needing "foreigner services" because her Korean isn't very good!

@beefnoodo Try uniqueps(dot)co(dot)kr. They don't have an English website though, only Chinese. Same with Opera, I heard they don't have an English in house translator either. Try wechatting "opera9595" if you know Chinese. I had no responses over the email too but they replied back really fast on wechat. Or kakaotalk "dobici", but I'm not sure if they'll reply back to English messages there.

For Unique, I contacted them via Kakao. Search ID "uniqueps" if you can type Korean otherwise they will direct you to "orangor" (Chinese translator). She can only understand Chinese and if you can't type Chinese, the only way is google translate. Hope this helps.

I think for me it's because I didn't actually need a separate translator. For example, there was one thai (?) girl and she had her own translator following her everywhere and a family from somewhere in north america sat in the vip room and stuff with extra "foreigner" services whereas for me, I did everything like the natives but the consultant for everyone just happened to be able to speak english. I definitely got really lucky lol. Also at ID, there were cars w/ drivers outside and it looked like only the foreigners were using those services.

Also, if you look at the Korean page for most of the clinics' websites, they have promos going on and they'll list the prices (ridiculously cheap btw) but if you ask for the price in english at the same places, it's like 3x more expensive :nogood:

I know. It infuriates me that they try and rip foreign people off like that, especially because a lot of foreigners don't use things like their airport pickup service and those translators that accompany them to their checkups get paid an absolute pittance that in no way justifies foreigners paying 3 times more than koreans.
