shirleysally
Actually getting the best clinic or the best doctor might not create a beautiful eyes for you. It depends on individual, as long as you are comfortable with the doctor. Just go ahead!
kkim120
How can he do fat removal without incision...? But your eyes look very promising so far! Congrats! I just did my eyes in December and now I have to relearn how to draw my eyeliner! Lols
kkim120
I totally second this. All this business about "best surgeon in Korea" is misleading. Even the most acclaimed surgeon may not be able to help you achieve the results you want. Sure, you don't want to go to a doctor with a bad reputation, but after you pick out the places you want to consult, it's just a matter of which doctor you feel most comfortable with. Btw Shirley, do you have eyeliner tattooed on?
shirleysally
I really have no idea how he did it. As my consultation with him is only less than 2 mins. He poke my eyes and I decide which height to get. I forgot to ask him how he can remove my fat without incision. Too nervous I guess. I believe the method is between incision and non incision. I smelled some burning bbq smell during my op. And I realize there is a small hole at the back of my eyelid. I do not have eyeliner tattoo la, but getting eyebrows embroidery on Friday in Korea. kkim120
LOL! You smelled bbq?!?!?! OMG. I am so glad I was under sedation during my surgery. I guess you got partial incision then... right? Although, looking at your closed eyes photo it doesn't look like you had any exterior incisions. Just exterior stitches, which is what I had as well for nonincisional... Now that I think about it, I had ptosis correction done without incision, but how is that possible?!!? Maybe the doctor excised fat through a tiny hole. perfectionistxx
Hey everyone, I remember how precious other people's cosmetic surgery recounts and reviews were to me when I was researching for a clinic so I've decided to share my own experience! Word of warning before hand - it is a VERY WORDY POST!! It was in November that I finally decided to put into motion my plans to undergo double eyelid surgery. However, I live in Australia and didn't know of any reputable surgeons in my area that are highly experienced in Asian double eyelid surgery. Therefore, I was 100% sure that I didn't want to get it done locally but was in a dilemma about where to go exactly. I've always wanted to go to Korea and many reviews online strongly support that Korea is the place to go for cosmetic surgery but I was concerned about the fact that it'd be my first time there and I can't even speak Korean! I discovered that even my boyfriend was aware of the high reputation of cosmetic surgeons in Korea when he encouraged me to choose one there (after I finally convinced him that I was adamant on my decision to undergo DES and nothing he said would change my mind). So I thought, okay, if I did choose to go to Korea, how was I going to choose which clinic??? And which doctor?? Suddenly I was on a mission; researching non stop - reading page after page on forums about the experiences of others. After almost exhausting my bandwidth with the amount of researching I did, I decided on Banobagi Plastic and Aesthetic Clinic. After this decision, I had another problem. Based on what I had read, this clinic was pretty popular and I was planning to undergo surgery in January which was Peak Season. I didn't think it'd be wise just to turn up and expect them to slot me in. What if I flew all the way to Korea to be turned away by my clinic of choice!? It was like fate was hanging around and reading my worried thoughts when I stumbled onto a review by a blogger who mentioned using Docfinderkorea - a medical concierge company. I looked up the website and excitedly read about the service they provide and was instantly convinced. How perfect! It was just what I needed. Within a few minutes I had taken the first step to using the service by submitting an enquiry. I received a reply from Shin Park within the next couple days outlining in more detail the service that his company provides. After another couple days, I received another email from Shin containing the names of the recommended clinics, recommended procedures based on any pictures provided and the costs of these procedures - yay to no nasty surprises Luckily for me, Banobagi was one of the approved clinics and in a short amount of time, DocFinderKorea was able to help me secure a consultation and surgery appointment just a couple days away from my desired date! As I excitedly waited for January to finally arrive, Shin from DocFinderKorea encouraged me to ask him any questions about the upcoming trip and surgery via email or phone. He was super patient and quick at replying and even provided relevant information that I didn't think to ask for. Finally, I arrived at Incheon Airport with my partner and Shin was there to bring us to our hotel where we had a couple days to rest before my consultation and surgery which was booked on the same day. The big day finally arrived and I was escorted to Banobagi clinic in the morning for my consultation. As I stepped inside, I noticed how full the waiting area was even though it was still quite early. I met Claire, my lovely consultant who can speak fluent English! After filling in a form, I entered the consultation room with Shin, Claire and my partner where I discussed what I wanted my eyes to look like after surgery and the method I wished the doctor to use (incisional due to the permanency of this method and I also needed ptosis correction). After this, I met my doctor and Claire helped to relay everything we discussed to him in Korean. In this situation Claire helped as an interpreter because the doctor spoke very little English. Despite this, I could feel that he knew exactly what he was doing and genuinely felt that I was in good hands. Not once did I feel like I was being pushed to undergo any particular procedure and the doctor was super patient with me despite being a very busy and popular man. At the end of the consultation I was satisfied that the doctor understood exactly what I was after and I was actually less nervous knowing that I was in good hands. My surgery was scheduled for right after the consultation so I followed a nurse to the change room where I got into my surgery gown and then into the surgery room. If you've read many other reviews, you've probably read that the needle that goes into the arm at the beginning is the most painful and I can confirm that - I thought it was quite bearable though! And I fell asleep soon after anyway. Everything that happened after is a bit of a blur to me now. I remember waking up during the surgery and feeling a weird sensation on my eyes - like tugging but it wasn't painful at all - just strange. During my time in the surgery room, Shin brought my partner to a nearby pharmacy to buy my meds and they were already waiting when I came out after surgery. Banobagi even provided a whole box of pumpkin juice to help with the swelling. What surprised me most was the lack of pain I experienced after the whole thing! I didn't even need to take pain relief medication believe it or not! I had my stitches taken out a week later and it seriously did not hurt either! Maybe a couple small quick pinches that were less painful than an ant bite. The nurses at the clinic were super nice and actually try to make you feel more relaxed. So far, it's been two days since getting my stitches out and I am really happy with the results and I am so glad I had the help of DocFinderKorea. If you've been seriously considering undergoing DES in Korea and are worrying about the language barrier, I really recommend Docfinderkorea. Oh and I forgot to mention, it's a free service!
